Vibrant flavors and great service. I will be returning to try the rare beef pho. Will be bringing my mom the next time she visits.

I was given a bag with one container of noodles and broth and meat all together/ there was no sides of typical Thai basil and other Vietnamese accompaniments that come with pho... The broth is flavorless. The noodles as another reviewer pointed out were very very little for the price of the soup and for pho in general. I usually don't go back and change reviews but I can't express how dissatisfied this is. I'm glad I actually checked the bag! I had to ask for another to go container to separate the noddles from the broth ( pho should never be served this way) I had to ask for Thai basil and everything else pho is served with. Unfortunately they are closing this location today and I can see why. This isn't how pho should be and even changing a for here order to a to go doesn't make a difference for the broth, packaging, noodle ration etc

Their vegan fried spring rolls and brussel sprouts are equally impressive, as well. I don't even like brussel sprouts, but I love the ones here. I'm so happy that this local business placed roots in Beverly - they've significantly improved the vegan game in the area. Soall is located on Rantoul Street and metered parking is available out front. The customer service is great and the bistro itself is brand spanking new. For now I'm only doing takeout, but I look forward to dining-in in the near future. YELP'S 2021 REVIEW CHALLENGE: #2

It has bar seating area and table dining as well. The restaurant is one of the more modern decorated Vietnamese restaurants compared to traditional mom and pop's Vietnamese restaurants that I am used to. I appreciate the vietbamese street scene mural that they have going and I appreciate their effort and attention to detail. For appetizer, we ordered the Vietnamese fish sauce fried chicken wings. It was very good! This is a must! Sadly, they didn't have the betel leaves beef/pork skewer. I will have to come back another time. For entree, I ordered pho while my husband ordered the bun cha Ha Noi, and my kids shared the rice plate with pork chop and fried egg. My pho broth was very clear, and very light in flavor. It was very reminiscent of how my mother would make her pho, very subtle flavors and with wide pho rice noodles. Long's pho I would say is more akin to Northern Vietnamese pho so if you're looking for more salty and fragrant pho, this might not be for you. I love additional pickled vinegar garlic slices that are available at each table as well. I have never seen this at any Vietnamese restaurant in MA. The bun cha Ha Noi, the was good, but I would try something other next time. The rice plate we ordered had pork chops, fried eggs, and what was supposed to be pork skin, however, the pork skin was not up to standard so the owner replaced it with grilled chicken for us. Pork chops were a little over cooked. They are still very new. I think playing some music will help with the kitchen banter. Service was friendly and fast. Food came out at a very good pace. I feel like their drinks and appetizers menu might be the place to start if you're not adventurous. I will definitely be back to try more of their dishes. See my pictures!

Staff are friendly here and despite a small storefront, there is so much to choose from! Not only are you getting banh mi sandwiches, they also have rice rolls, rice plates and baked goods! There are other things too. Banh mi - We like the special cold cut combo, and they were $7.50 each. These were excellent! Bread was perfectly crisp and filling was good proportions. Flavor was good and it satisfies! Egg rolls - $1.25 each. They are small but pack great crisp and the filling is tasty. Get 4 or 5. Rice roll plate - Not sure of the price but appears to be good portions and comes with one egg roll and it has some cold cut style meats. Includes fish sauce and you can ask for it to be spicy and they give you the spiciest (but so good) red chilies! 4 banh mi's, 5 egg rolls and the rice roll plate was $45.xx. This place is take out only but there are some tables in the middle area. This is not a place to go for a date...just for good eats.

Despite having…read morevisited the restaurant a few times before, this time around, I was shocked by the minuscule portion size compared to my previous visits. While I understand the economic downturn and the challenges faced by restaurants in cutting costs and raising prices, this is not the sole reason for my low rating. I had ordered the Beef Loc Lac ($25.95) and requested a side of limes to make the pepper lime dipping sauce. When I received the meal, I was already confused and shocked by the small portion. However, this incident alone wouldn't have prompted me to write a review. As the wait staff brought out the limes, the older lady who works the front desk (possibly the owner) rushed over and lectured the staff, insisting that they could only provide two slices and that any additional slices would incur an extra charge. She reprimanded the staff in front of me, leaving them confused and embarrassed. Despite the fact that the extra two slices were already placed on the table, the older lady proceeded to ask me if I still wanted them for the extra cost. I told her I'll just take the 2 free slices and pointed out the fact that there was barely any beef in the entree if she was going to charge me for the extra slice limes. She responded affirmatively, going on about the expensive sirloin steak, hence why there barely any meat on the plate. The photo clearly shows that there were only about eight to ten small cubes of beef. This incident is a stark contrast to the kind of customer experience that a restaurant should strive for. It's unacceptable for a business to reprimand its employees in front of customers. The older lady's behavior was unfriendly and showed a complete disregard for her customers' experiences. Given this experience, I will not returning to this establishment.

If you find yourself in the Lynn area, call Nightshade and see if you can nab a seat for yourself…read moresolo or a party of 2. I read online that you need advanced reservations to dine, but decided to call and see if they had an opening since I was in nearby Salem. They did, and I had tremendous experience starting around 7pm on a late-August Friday evening. Caveat: October tends to be the busiest month, so advanced reservations are advised. The mantra to enter into the multicourse journey is "Trust the Process" and "Take Your Time." The chef and her team will curate a unique medley of dishes. After familiarizing myself to the "menu map," I knew there were some ingredients (duck tongue and caviar, for example) that I normally wouldn't order ad hoc, so jumped in with a deep breath. This was one of those instances where the risk taken paid off in spades! I opted for the seven-course experience. The staff are knowledgable, food-passionate, attentive, and expert at creating an atmosphere of ease and genuine hospitality. They were quick to refill my water, make sure I had everything I needed, and inquire about my take on the dishes. The pacing overall was solid, and I was intentional about tasting and allowing the mouth feel of each dish to register: this helped my brain clock that the tasting menu left me satiated, despite the 1-to-2 bite portion sizes of a few of the courses. As you can see from my photos (not in chronological order), each dish is a work of art for the eye and the palate. My favorites were the uni brulee and the "dragon's blood" aloe vera gel: the latter was technically a chef's gift (palate cleanser) vs an actual course, but I loved the play on a vibrant childhood icee flavor and the "pop" of the tangy/tart/sweet lime sugar. Actual order: choupique caviar service (chips), grilled coconut sticky rice pop w/pork floss, habotcha squash bot chien, uni brulee, collard greens, garlic noodles with crab cake, "dragon's blood" aloe vera gel, and lemon custard "trifle" (deconstructed lemon merengue pie). Note: if you are sensitive to spicy, certain dishes may not suit you. They include the habotcha squash bot chien and uni brulee, which both have a decent kick. Everything was memorable in delivery, gorgeous presentation, and symphony of flavors. I've been fortunate to enjoy a Michelin-rated prix fixe in Paris, and Nightshade was on par with that meal. I'm already looking forward to my next visit, and will highly recommend to friends for a special meal. Trust me, it's worth it! Bonus: Nightshade is a stone's throw from the Lynn MBTA Station.
