I needed to wash several comforters, and sheets/bedding, and a couple loads of towels. Always better to do it all at once in 2hrs at la lavandaria rather than running loads at home for 36hrs straight. This place is ok but the payment system here is absolutely diabolical. You have to use a reloadable card. That's fine, and honestly way easier than small bills. But here's where it gets terrible, in order to load the wash card with money you need to use a swipe credit card. And it has a $50 limit per credit card used in a 24hrs period. The big washers here are $10.09 per wash. That's $0.09 feels very petty, but whatever. Once you hit your $50 limit you have to either uses a different card or load the card with cash. I hit my $50 limit and had to use cash. They had an ATM with a less than $3 fee so that seemed ok. But the bill breaker wasn't working. I only had $20s after using the ATM and needed to add $3 to finish my dyer cycle So decent machines. Not crowded on a Saturday morning, but unbelievable stupid payment system. Bring multiple credit cards or small bills if you plan on washing all your big stuff here in one day. read more

Some of their locations are no longer there Covid happened covid went away we're in the post covid world. One thing that really hasn't changed is the great soap opera laundromat in Downers Grove. This flag store one of their main locations today's busy almost all the time. It usually find people washing clothes themselves all hours of the night the middle of the night the first thing it's really nice about it is after hours when they go home you have to have a pass card to get in. You can purchase one you don't even have to have a balance it's just a classic swipe card they have a vending machine for it put a dollar in get the thing. It gets you in 24/7 all the time One thing to know about it though if you're only coming in to use the can and you don't use any services because everything is done with a pass card if you don't put money in the machine you use your pass card you load the card and then you swipe a machine to start it etc while you have a balance. That being said if you only come in and use the toilet six times your card is turned off LOL. Then you got to spend a buck and get another one. This policy was put in place to keep derelicts, homeless bums, tweakers, riff Raff and shifty people up to no good out. Now if you do laundry yourself they are full service they have your standard size washers like at home they've got the extra large and then they got what I call the monsters.. same with the dryers. It's very clean inside temperature control is good yes it's fairly cool even in the summer I've been using them for quite a few years ever since I found out one time when I came in with the shitload of laundry cuz the other place at the time had closed so I was hunting down another location a different facility and business completely mind you. So I came in with bags and bags poundage and they said you know we could do that for you. I said really? They said yup. We offer full laundry service folding you don't even have to use our detergent you could bring your own in give it to us and we'll give you back when you're done. I said hell yeah we about the credit card I think it was about 50 something bucks it was like 30 lb or something I can't remember it was something really heavy cuz I had blankets and all kinds of crap but I hate doing laundry. So next thing you know BadacBing Bada Boom I get a call two days later laundry is done come pick it up. So that's begin my relationship has continued to this day.. did you offer delivery if you're in the area it's about 15 bucks but it's close to where I parked the truck so I don't mind just zipping up the interstate running the side roads and dropping off and picking up it's all good. The quality is fantastic the clothes come out nice and clean they're folded they're separated in the bags between shirts and of course your skivvies and socks and then your jeans pants and the hanger stuff nicely done even on the hangers. So I decided this last round I was impressed at how fast they got it done being it was the holiday I dropped it off and they were calling me a day later said it's done it was about half of what I usually bring in but it was a good 26 bucks worth. But having the text saying your laundry is done come pick it up and the fact that they were in on New Year's Day and the customer service part was another big plus so there's the five bar full Stars. More than satisfied with what I get. read more

This is my go-to laundromat when I've let things pile up too much and can't spend all day waiting for an empty machine in my building's laundry room. They use a card system so you don't have to worry about quarters, and have machines that hold up to 5 or 6 loads of laundry. This place is looking shabby. Everything looks worn. Windows always dirty. When a machine is out of order, they fail to post a clear sign, so patrons have already loaded clothes and added detergent before noticing the machine is inoperable. I am been going here since they have opened. I was really impressed with the operating manager Mike because he was going around fixing things and make sure everything was working. I was in there today and there was a worker Michael Lee that was busting his butt cleaning up machines, wiping them down, sweeping and mopping the floor. It has been a very long time since I needed a laundromat, but I am downsizing my living arrangements and moved into a place where I don't have my own hookup. Looking around locally I was not too thrilled, so many complaints, but this one seemed reasonably nearby and with no reviews I thought I would give it a try. I was surprised when I got there because it was much larger than I expected, looked new, and was very bright and clean. They are completely coinless, which is nice since I don't have to haul a load of silver around. They have a variety of sizes for the washers, so I didn't have to pay for more then I need. The staff was friendly and helpful guiding me through things my first time with this system. I will probably be using this as my regular wash destination. read more

I rarely use laundromat services but needed to recently when the washer and dryer was out at my apt. The attendant Michael who works there is down right scary. This guy is useless. Not only does he make it a point to run around and yell at customers he also talks down to the hired help. The other people in there were appalled at the way he was speaking to people. He thinks he's some kind of authority figure when it comes to washing machines. I definitely wouldn't come here by choice. The owner needs to spend more time at this place to properly train employees. The women who work there were pleasant to deal with. Michael needs to be humbled, which I'm sure Karma will do. The lady working there was the sweetest very helpful, patient, polite she was awesome!!! But the place is so pricey! I couldn't believe it!!! Their dryers SUCK! I used 6 dryers each 39 cents when I would open them there was no hot air you couldn't feel the heat of the dryer I thought it was strange. I had to pay 39 three times till my small load actually felt like it was completely dry. I really thought I had finally found a place to do laundry close to home .. i guess not but so many out here I will keep looking. Washers legit wash your clothes super fast idk if it's to save money on water. My washing machine broke, so I was looking for a nice alternative. You need to go to the money exchange machine near the front, and get a loyalty card to run the machines. Also, the smaller load machines are in the back. Other than not knowing that at first, it was a good experience. There were all types of people there at 7PM on a Thursday, and the attendants were friendly, but waited for you to approach them. I decided to take the clothes home to run them through my dryer, just because of time. They have plenty of industrial large machines and I saw a few people washing either huge loads or bedding and comforters. The card does not expire, so I think I'll be back with the comforter! read more

I recently started coming here on Wednesday instead of Mondays and noticed that even on high the dryers don't get hot like Mondays. Just so happens that Wednesday is half price large load days. Makes you wonder if they are trying to make up their losses on drying. Why did I just spend three times as much as normal on drying. I used 6 different dryers and NO HEAT!!! read more

I took 2 rugs to be washed at this laundromat. I brought my own fragrance free detergent and specified that we do not use products with fragrance. I picked up the rugs the same day and put them out. My house smelled like a laundromat/dryer sheets the next day. I had a horrible headache and traced the problem down to the smelly rugs. So I called them and let them know and they gave me a number to call. My call was returned later that day and they told me to bring them back to have them re-laundered. They were very kind about fixing the problem but also said the smell could have come from the machines. I have taken these rugs in myself, 2 other times to other laundromats and washed and dried them and never had them come out spelling like dryer sheets. $42 and 4 trips to the laundromat and I still can't use my rugs. I will have to take them to another place. Very disappointed! read more

The laundry mat itself is clean and the rates are competitive with other laundry mats in the area. The staff for the most part are excellent with the exception of a lady who works second shift- she has been highly intoxicated several times while working. I have also witnessed her complaining about doing drop off laundry and throwing wet clothes on the dirty floor. This is my preferred laundromat- it's clean and large. My only complaint is some of the staff. The last time i was here a staff member felt the need to tell me how to do my laundry. She seemed new as i have never seen her before in my at least 4 years of using this laundromat. She confronted each person that entered since i arrived and stopped them to consult them about what kind of laundry they were there to do. i could tell the intentions were good but people don't come to the laundromat to hang around and do laundry with the staff or get a tutorial on how to use the machines. they are there to do laundry and leave! It was a very odd experience and it was so difficult to watch. I didn't want to be rude but i had to firmly tell her i didn't need instruction for to get the point that i just wanted to be left alone. all of the other customers i observed her with acted the same. It was uncomfortable and frankly, annoying. The time before that a different staff member was cleaning the stainless steel front of the machines (which don't get me wrong, is a good thing to be doing) but she was so oblivious to what was going on around her that she was constantly in the way of customers, cleaning machines that were in use. I waited for her to finish shining the front of my washing machine which had ended its cycle just as she started spraying it down with stainless steel cleaner. As i removed my freshly cleaned clothes, residue and ultimately chemicals, got all over them. It was just so annoying. i sat there saying to myself "Really? common sense didn't just tell you to move on to the next machine not in use and come back to this one when it was vacant?" I really do love this laundromat and have started driving out to it all the way from arlington heights but my most recent visits are forcing me to consider looking elsewhere.
