Larry Sobel is the best there is! There are no doctors like him out there anymore. I am forever grateful for him!

My family doctor of many years retired late last year. I researched family practices and found that Sobel Family Medicine appeared to address all my needs in a family doc. Made an appointment with Dr. Bruce Sobel. First visit ...I had to wait an hour to see the doctor......not a great first impression. During the exam I found Larry Sobel more interested in letting me know how much $$$ he made in the market recently than dealing with any medical issues I had. Had the exam and told him I wouldn't come back if waiting an hour was typical. He assured me it wasn't . Next appointment I waited an hour and a half and still never got to see Sobel. I walked out and told the office I wouldn't be back. Immediately found a new family doc. I take a blood pressure medication every day. Unbeknownst to me Sobel's office was the last medical practice to order this particular medication so the pharmacy contacted them them to OK a refill. They decided not to and simply ignored the multiple fax requests. I found Larry Sobel to be condescending, disrespectful and a little too arrogant. He may be a great doctor but he runs his practice like his sh*t doesn't stink. read more

Absolutely recommend Sobel family! It's a one stop shop for a Dr appointment, X-rays, EKG, blood tests, urine tests, ultrasound. So convenient! Dr Sobel is very caring and helpful. read more

Might as well just google lens whatever you can cause thats the lump some of knowledge they have. Quick google search, and they had me out the door with more worries than solved answers. An the girls who kinda run around without a clue are just that. They will loudly talk down about you, an you hear it all. Dr Bruce Sobel has been my PCP since 1993, some 33 years. He listens and does his best to help with your pains and annual physicals. I credit Dr. Bruce with saving my life in all the efforts that I finally quit smoking in 1993. They are like family to me, even with the staff who are sometimes tired and forget who is the patient. read more

I have been a patient of Bruce Sobel DO for over 30 years as my general physician. He has been an exceptional doctor over the decades for many reasons. He is consistently reliable, he and his team provide a high quality of care, he has always been empathic to my medical complaints, he spends a good amount of time with me to ensure I feel heard and most of all he is kind. My biggest concern is him retiring and me having to find another GP. The office team is pleasant and welcoming. Wait times are reasonable. read more

Dr. Bruce is always in a hurry. Has 2-3 patients going at same time resulting in him hopping from room to room while you wait. He is very abrupt, jumps to conclusions without listening comprehensively to patient and doesn't act like he is caring or sympathetic to patient. He also has many services going on , such as chiropractic, dietician, x-ray, self-production (compounding) of injections, and more. He bills multiple activities performed on each visit. I have to say, some of the negative comments are exactly what I love most about Dr. Bruce. If been going here for 15+ years, and the office is great about getting me in when I need to be seen, dealing with medication renewals, billing is clear, etc. But, most importantly, Dr. Bruce is talented, smart, direct, and super old-school. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE. PAID MORE THAN $600 for nothing basically!!! they need to be investigated! Doctor had said certification would be for 1 year and now that I called back because of an error in paperwork for certification they state that doctor had said it was only for 3 months when doctor said pay $250 for an echo on top of physical fee and if echo was clear certification would be sent for a 12 month period infront of checkout lady at front desk. Now doctor is saying no never said anything and it is weird how they were pushing to schedule another exam. They only want to scam you for your money. Doctor refused to take my call and had receptionist do the dirty work. read more

Although it took many a phone call to get anyone to respond to my messages, I finally got hold of a lovely person called Evette. From that moment on the level of professionalism was spot on. they don't even deserve one star but i was forced to put one. okay so it's a pretty known fact that they don't value your time at all. If you make an appointment there be aware that you will be waiting 30+ minutes to be seen. Dr. sobel was running around the place seeing multiple patients at once and doesn't really care what you have to say anyways as well. I started having a panic attack and the girls were actually pretty helpful with calming me down and being understanding. Dr sobel however honestly seemed annoyed and was very dismissive towards my feelings. He basically just wrote a few prescriptions for me without going to into much detail regarding those prescriptions... overall i would say he was not considerate of my feelings and doesn't seem like he cares about his patients... i would never recommend this place to ANYONE. read more

My husband sought aftercare for an emergency appendectomy and for COVID. My husband is a 73 year old still working full time and has been seeing Dr. Larry Sobel for quite a while. When he booked the appointment he mentioned the positive home COVID test, and when he checked in for the appointment wearing a mask and taking the necessary precautions, told them again about COVID no one gave him any alternate instructions. Dr Larry actually yelled at him and told him they didn't want COVID patients "here" and that they prefer to treat covid patients over the phone. My. Husband asked how he was supposed to know that, as no one told him. Dr Larry said he would call in some prescriptions for him. He never came in the room to examine my husband, never checked his incisions, nothing. My husband said that the doctor was really angry when he yelled. In all his years he has never been treated so awfully and disrespectfully by anyone! Do not go here!! read more

If you're in no rush and have an open schedule for about two hours then this is the place for you. Showed up 5 minutes early to my appointment and still waited 45 minutes in the waiting room. I even asked how long the wait would be and if it were going to be longer than 40 minutes then I need to reschedule. If only that were the end of all my waiting but NOPE, somehow waiting inside of a room for another 30 minutes just waiting for Dr. Larry. Just so that he could spend 10 minutes in a room with me. Thanks a lot for not caring about anyone's time here, it's really appreciated. Why don't you stop talking to each other all day long and do your jobs? Dr. Bruce's office called my phone number and asked me to take down the yelp review I had left for his brother's practice. When I refused to take it down, I got a second follow-up within 5 minutes and they canceled my appointment and my wife's appointment we were supposed to have with Dr. Bruce today. My parents have been going to this doctor for the past almost 20 years, and then my brother and I started going when we go old enough. The care they put into people is so rushed and they don't care to hear what you have to say, only what they think the problem is. I have gone in and checked in, only to wait over an hour only to receive a call from them stating I missed my appointment while I was sitting in the waiting room! They also told me they accepted my insurance when they did not, and charged me for the appointments and lab testing a few weeks after my appointments. The front desk ladies are rude and the only person who seems to care in this office is Dr. DeMartino, the chiropractor. Even though I would love to have Dr.DeMartino work on my back, I will never set foot in this office again, let alone recommend them to anybody. read more

I have been seeing Sobel Family Medicine for close to 20 years. The waits can be long but they get you in same day. They also have lab and X rat on site which saves a lot of time vs other clinics. I have always been very happy with the service I received at this clinic and they have supported me through several major medical issues over the last 20 years. read more

I would stay far away from this place. To keep it short... POOR bedside manner from Bruce, and clearly only concerned with number of office visits and how much he can make off you than treating you. He is loud and you can clearly hear the conversations he is having with the other patient in their exam rooms!!! So much for privacy! Also, the staff was very difficult to deal with to get prescriptions refilled and never returned phone calls. They also were terrible at transferring records to my new doctor... took way longer than it should have! Very unprofessional and clearly the other reviews agree! read more

My appointment was at 10:30, its is 11:30 and I left the office not having seen Dr. Larry after my hour wait. I used to love this office for the convenience of having everything available but the wait times are ridiculous. I did get my copay refunded quickly. I was looking up Dr. Sobel's website to send to a lady I met at Home Depot and saw these Yelp reviews. I just had to post. I am not sure if these negative post are just from grumpy people or what. I will tell you our experience. We had a Doctor that we loved. Our insurance changed and we had to change Doctors. We were upset and the only thing that kept me from crying was when we realized we could go to a new Doctor and if something big came up, we would go back to our old guy and pay out of pocket. I had a friend who I had heard talk about her Doctor many times and how wonderful he was, so I thought at least this is a place to start and got his name. It was Dr. Larry Sobel at Sobel Family Medicine. We went to him and have never looked back. It has now been over 25 years. The office is a one stop shop all setup. It is a office of 3 brothers who are Doctors, one is a MD, that is Larry, one is a DO, that is Bruce and one that is a Sports Medicine/ Back and Spine Specialist, that is Jerry. Also there is Audrey Sobel who is a awesome miracle worker Physical Therapist. They also have a Chiropractor in the office. They do their own labs so you don't have to go elsewhere for that. One day I said I thought I should probably get a bone density scan and they said sure, when do you want to do it? I asked, where do I have to go for that? The answer is just down the hall, we do it here. They even do the Ultrasound Carotid Arteries test there. I am sure there is more that they do that I don't know about or I am forgetting to mention. I do know they are progressive and open minded. The bottom line is, I trust them with my life and the lives of my family. Yes sometimes there is a wait, but I imagine it is because these are very busy and very through Doctors and I figure they are taking care of someone else. I have never felt rushed or pushed out for the next guy. They listen and they care. They have a huge staff, so I imagine someone might be rude sometime, but honestly I have never encountered anyone there who has been anything but kind and caring to me. In the years we have been going to see Larry or his PA we have had a few serious health problems and they have correctly diagnosed them each and every time. When they feel we need a specialist, they have consistently referred us to only the best doctors. They don't do unnecessary test and they don't just push drugs. I have referred friends and family to them who in turn have referred their own friends and family to them too. So after reading some of the negative reviews I just had to put in my two cents worth. We have told Larry, that we are sorry, but he is not allowed to ever retire. read more

Spoke to receptionist; Mercedes today to try to figure out details of a prescription refill issue. Explained my reoccurring migraines will come back when my last dose wears off and was trying to get a refill. The pharmacy was closed and I submitted the request however none of this mattered to Mercedes who was highly inconvenienced I was even calling to figure out this situation. At which point I relied 'I know This might seem like I'm being difficult but I promise if you knew the amount of pain I am about to be in you would like care.' To which she did not reply. After explaining in detail and asking if I should just come in for an appointment she finally said she would take a message. When I asked what time I should expect to hear back from her she didn't respond, so I prompted within 30 minutes an hour? Only to find out the dr I need approval from wouldn't be in until late morning. She was not kind, considerate or caring. She did everything I asked after much frustration and annoyance. It shouldn't be this difficult for someone sick and in pain to get the medication they need. If I hadn't been a painter here for the last FIFTEEN years I would have hung up and called another doctor. I do not recommend this practice to anyone as they obviously do not care weather patients are able to get the care and treatment they need WHEN they need o. I called an hour after the dr arrived on site and they had received the re request and he had signed it but they hadn't sent it back. When I asked her when they would be sending it back she did not have an answer so I prompted now-ish? She said yes. I called the pharmacy 15 minutes later they had still not received it. I asked the pharmacist if she could call the doctors office to expedite the process to which she replied she would and finally at three hours later I received a text that Prescription was ready. When I picked it up she mentioned to me that I had only just been gone through. read more

My wife an I arrived 30 minutes early my appointment time. We did have to wait an additional 20minutes past time to be brought back to the exam room. Olga greeted us and was very polite. She collected history, took vitals and was very nice to converse with. My wife uses a wheelchair and was easily able to navigate the back office, exam room and bathrooms however the reception area was a little overcrowded with chairs. We waited another 30 minutes for Dr Sobel with Olga checking in periodically to see if we needed anything. When Dr Sobel arrived he was very polite and engaging. He listened, made recommendations and gave us the opportunity to converse to make decisions. He also informed us of costs associated with our insurance making sure treatments and testing would work for our budget. Abby came in to take some blood and was wonderful! She was incredibly proficient and engaging making sure we were informed and comfortable throughout the process. We see Dr. Larry as our PCP and have for a couple years, now. The staff is all wonderful and helpful with any questions we have and go out of their way to accomodate patients. Parking is good, they have a lab, an x ray tech, PT, and Dr. Jerry is next door for spine and sports. We can even deal with Dr. Larry's gruff bedside manner because he is helpful and the office is located well for us. My concern is that Dr. Larry always runs late. ALWAYS. It doesn't matter if you are the 1st patient of the day or the last - LATE. This is not a staffing issue at all, typically. It's the doctor's issue. It is so frustrating to take time off from work for a lunch appointment, only to spend 2 hours there, and 1 1/2 hours of that is in the waiting room. Again - staff, amenities - all wonderful. The time issue is really a problem for us. read more

I do not recommend visiting this office, the staff literally has no people skills, they don't know how to talk to people, and their communication sucks. Horrible place! My bf missed out on work because it has taken three hrs to be seen from our appointment. I called the manager Brenda and she just kept making excuses that people come back with more problems then booked which makes them behind. Yes 30 minutes is acceptable but three hrs later is a bit much! I stopped going here because of this and tried to recommend my boyfriend to see if they have changed over the years. Manager was very rude and not apologetic. Find another Dr! No bed side manners or care for their patients. The front looks like they hate their lives also. I didn't even want to leave them one star, but i was forced to put something... so one it is. I'm am absolutely appalled by this place. My mother called to get her blood pressure medicine renewed and they are making her come in for yet another visit. With the current COVID-19 pandemic and all the closures of businesses and even doctors offices trying to limit exposures by handling most things via Phone or video chat, Dr Sobel is still making my mom come in for her prescription. Ok so let's have a normally healthy 62 year old come into a office, full of sick people and a highly infectious virus circulating the world, come in just to take a blood pressure and re prescribe her USUAL medication she's been on for years. I mean she's not looking for narcotics or anything questionable.... it's blood pressure medication!!! She has a blood pressure cuff she would be more than happy to take for him over the phone or even keep a log for a few days and read it back to him, But no, he's only worried about his cash cow "bring the patient in, that's how we get paid" mentality. I've noticed over the last few years that they no longer care about the human as a whole, it's now all about getting those visits and all those tests, so they can get paid for every little thing. Me, my fiancé and my mom will be looking for a new PCP who actually cares about keeping people healthy and not just making a quick buck during a scary time. My husband and I have been a patient with Dr. Sobel for well over 15 years! He is an absolutely wonderful Doctor and I am amazed how efficiently he runs his practice. I can always get an appointment.. very often the same day. His office staff is very thorough and friendly. I had been to numerous Doctors for may medical issues and Dr. Larry Sobel was able to diagnose my medical issues and refer me to top medical specialists that I was able to get in within days! It is very convenient to be able to have most of labs done in the office as well as my bone density scans and my X-Rays! I was in a car accident that I needed a C3-C7 ACDF Spinal Surgery and Dr. Sobel referred me to the best Neurologists and Surgeons! I also receive a series of Trigger Point therapy every 6 weeks from Dr. Sobel for the past year! In addition I was happy with the excellent Physical Therapy from Audrey Sobel who is fabulous and their wonderful Massage Therapist Lena. Audrey was instrumental in helping me through my concussion conditions as well as my numbness and neck issues. You couldn't have asked for more friendly and sweet physical and massage therapists. I have referred to several friends to his practice. I have had well over 100 office visits with his practice and I would highly recommend him and his staff! read more

Reception rude. Doctor uncaring. Quite long wait times. Your case can be heard by other patients, I certainly heard other people's cases through the walls. One very kind and gentle nurse soothed me and got my blood pressure down when we had to do a retest since it was so high. Still being asked to pay for stuff that is covered. Never once suggested cutting down drinking alcohol or improving diet and starting an exercise regimen. I think the anal exam was not done properly to be honest, in fact I know it wasn't. read more
