Five stars all around! This was a very cool experience. We had a party of 14 adults (27 years old and older). And NONE of us had done this before. They gave us three lanes and it was a blast! First the staff was amazing. They give you a small demo and then it's quite literally your turn! They had a selection between different axe sizes and even a shovel (which is hard at first and makes a lot of noise bouncing off the board when you don't make it). We had guys and gals in our group and all of us were having a blast! I took it upon myself to try the shovel when everyone just about gave up on it. And I was the first of my group to get it to stick! When they didn't believe me, I had to attempt it again while my whole group (and other parties and staff) all watched. The newest fad trend on the block! Axe throwing! These places are popping up more around the area and it is a family fun activity to do, whether with your family or even a cute date idea to impress your girl with your macho throwing skills Kids have to be 8+ to throw an axe. Its $15 for 30 minutes or $20 for an hour per person which isn't too bad! I went with a group of six people which ended up being really fun! A good alternative to us going bowling all the time but bowling will always be the OG obvi. For me it was a little bit harder than it looked but after a few practice throws, I got the hang of it. You want to pull from behind and all the way down with your hands like you're pulling a rope down. The staff explains and show you how to do it when they show you to a throwing lane. The place itself is very clean except for the splinters of wood that come out from the boards and on the ground. The employees replace them though (I don't know how often) so it looks clean even after a bunch of uses from different groups. Hopefully places like this stick around and don't go out of business after everyone's tried it or maybe they will be adding it to the sports list? Guess we'll have to see! I can definitely see myself going quite a few times. I had fun and recommend it if you've never tried it! read more

This is a good time and an opportunity to try something different (that is, unless you commonly throw axes!!). You can easily reserve a lane online to ensure a, "no wait". The Temecula location has gotten approval to add a bar to be attached to the axe-throwing lanes - it seemed like this is something that will not happen soon though (they still have yet to, "build" it). What a blast! Kids and I decided to check this place out while we waited for a table at a nearby restaurant. Kids have to be 8+ to throw but even my 10yr old was able to make some good throws and stick the axes in the wood. It was fun and the technique is super easy. Like bowling but overhear rather than bending down. The staff was helpful and there are aces of all shapes and sizes so anyone can be successful. We'll definitely visit again! read more

Went to this axe throwing spot for some anniversary fun. And giiiiiiirl, let me tell you, it was well worth it. Found a cheaper priced ticket on Groupon too, so hella come up! We paid for an hour & it was so worth it. Definitely gotta bring our 12 year old with us next time. Staff is friendly! NO NINJA STARS, I asked! BUT, if you have them, YOU CAN BRING THEM & use them! Like wtf?! Hell yeahhh so accommodating. They give you tons of other things to throw. Some easier than others. SoCal Axe was soooooo much fun!! Melissa and I had reservations at 3pm on 02/15/21 and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the the young lady and super chill guy at the front. We signed some quick virtual waivers (some old stuff as always) and we're quickly set up into a axe range. I wished I would've caught the chill guys name. He was cool and gave us a quick intro on how to properly throw an axe! Mask were required but as soon as you got to your range you're free to have them remain on or off, your choice. There is plenty of room between throwers so mask-off seemed like a good idea. We we're giving about 5 different options of axes' from small to large including a small shovel head! Lol At first it seemed difficult but the more we threw the more we got the hang of it. We saw people of all ages enjoy SoCal Axe, from children to grown ups. The workers went around giving people pointers on how to properly throw the axe and were super helpful. Our range time lasted about an hour and it flew! Super fun time. Highly recommend for a date night or just a fun activity for everyone to do. read more

The experience was fun. The staff was very friendly. We went with friends and it was a great time. 4 stars because the pricing is weird. It's per person, based on time. So we paid for 2 people, one hour each. But it's a shared hour? So we probably got like 30 minutes each since we were taking turns on the same board. We stopped to grab a drink next door, which was fun. The time doesn't pause though so be aware. For us it was fine and there are notices of the rule posted which is nice :) We will probably return so I guess it was worth even the awkward pricing strategy. read more

I went here on Fathers Day with my son- we had no clue how fun it would be. There was a closer option but it wasn't as nice. So glad we drove a little farther- there is a seperate section (but still connected) that you can eat, drink and watch football. The people are super helpful and accommodating. Fun daytime date idea! They were helpful and patient as we warmed up. I like this location because they have interactive screens with multiple games, which is more interesting than just aiming for stationary targets on wood. The only downside is the nonstop, boot scoot, country girl, dirt road music. Hopefully you'll be laughing and cheering too much to notice the music! read more

Maybe I've been spoiled by really good Axe throwing places, but this place is just ehh. Our guide was either really hung over or very high; which is whatever, I'm not mad about it but more bummed that there 4 people in our group that have never thrown an axe and he spent a total of 45 seconds with us rushing through what he was suppose to say, threw and axe in the board and walked away. Leaving us to figure it out on our own. The other places I've been the guide stays with your group, teaches and helps you get better, then shows you trick throws, has you play games and a tournament. At these other axe places you could drink in your throwing area with a server coming by periodically. If you're a pro axe thrower and don't want to be spoken to or hate games, this place is perfect for you!! If you're looking for a group experience for a birthday or something, go somewhere else. Tip: The bar is beer only, completely separated rom the axe throwing room and you are not allowed to bring it in to the axe room. read more

This place is fine if you've never been to another axe throwing place. I am trying so hard not to blame this on the environment but when you have wood that's not meant to have axes thrown at and objects that are not sharp -- it's not a good combination. I don't throw well so if it's a good one, I'm pissed that it's not sticking because of tools. The teenager they hired gives zeros shits and sat on his phone the whole time, maybe if they used his time to make sure the tools actually worked, it would mitigate the fact that the wood they choose for us to throw on wasn't terrible. This is your typical carnival fare with an oval basketball hoop because they can. Great time, definitely not effective or accurate. Lazy owners hoping to thrive on a tourist trap. read more

Awesome! We made a reservation which we highly recommend as this place gets busy for walk-ins. Staff is super friendly and show you the ropes. I think his name was Dan. Great setup and such an easy concept. We had a blast! Different types of axes and targets to hit from traditional to zombies to tic tac toe. I recommend doing the hour, it was just perfect. I think the 30 minutes would be too short. Great AC and just fun time throwing axes! Only little concern was the shovel did not seem sharp enough to dig into the wood.
