To know especially that these are rescued animals and are being taken care of so carefully, giving us the privilege of being able to give them our love as well, it was a heartwarming experience. Plenty of free parking available right infront of the sanctuary. There is a cute little shop attached to the sanctuary, where you can buy their handmade truffle chocolates which are so delicious (coming from someone who isn't a fan of truffle chocolates), fresh farm eggs, honey, and other delicacies. With your zoo "ticket" you get 2 free samples of their chocolates and a hefty bag of feed for the animals. The animals are mostly in their own pens, with some together. There's even a couple of the pigs you'll find out of pens, just hanging out on the property, laying beside the building. You're able to go into the tortoise pen and feed/pet him as well, 2 people at a time inside the pen, as he does get anxious. You're not able to feed all of the animals, but for the most part you can. Each pen has a sign for which animals are ok to feed/pet and which are not. They are very calm and friendly, as long as you are too. They take the feed very gently and don't bite your fingers. On the weekends they offer pizza made fresh for the visitors, and have plenty of covered outdoor seating options to enjoy. They also offer wine tasting, but we did not partake, as we had just left a winery, but I'm sure it is quite enjoyable as well. Definitely a must stop if you're in the area and it's a 5 minute drive from the wineries!

I was tempted and seduced with a Banana Truffle, and then I needed more, more, more. We spent more on chocolates than we did touring the animals, and it was worth EVERY penny!!! The animals they have here are all rescues, and many of them have issues, but they have a loving forever home here. With the exception of the Camel and the Bison, we own many of these animals ourselves, but still enjoy interacting with and feeding them. They all were such characters. One of the Alpacas is hysterical, absolutely LOVED him/her, with the goofiest teeth. They all take the treats so nicely and have soft mouths. I got to pet a Zebra (oh yeah, we don't have one of those either). The zebra is so cool and lives in a corral with a Zorse- such a fun experience. I don't care if you already own livestock; this place is a cool spot to stop in, and if nothing else, buy yourself some of the best chocolates you will ever have. When in season, they have Emu eggs available.

The pathway was full of rocks, which made it extremely difficult to push a stroller. I moved my stroller near the gate where the ground was smoother while waiting for my friends to buy buckets for us. One staff member came up to me and immediately told me I couldn't go in without a bucket. I politely explained that I was not entering yet, just waiting because the rocky path was very hard for my stroller, and my friends were buying the buckets for me. Instead of explaining the rules kindly, she spoke to us with attitude and embarrassed us in front of everyone. The whole line was looking at us, and it felt very uncomfortable. She was impatient and rude instead of simply explaining the rules nicely to first-time visitors. We didn't know that each person needed their own bucket, and we also didn't know group picking was not allowed. That could have been explained respectfully. Customer service is not just about enforcing rules -- it's also about treating customers with kindness and patience. What disappointed me the most was how her attitude suddenly changed after I told my friend she was not friendly at all. Then she started smiling and acting nicer to the next guests. First-time customers who don't know the rules deserve clear explanations, not embarrassment and attitude.

Our tour guide, Julie was great at going over the do's and don't of being around them. Also, she shared beautiful stories of how this all started and information about Alpacas. They were all so cute and well behaved (didn't get spit on) haha. I apologize that I can not recall the name of the great woman who showed us how their coats are handled. I think I was so intrigued with what she was sharing that I didn't catch her name. With that said, it actually was my favorite part! If in the area, I would recommend booking this! Great for all ages :)

Started with a short presentation about the facility and alpacas, then on to the visits. We had a blast getting to feed them and petting them occasionally. Apparently they aren't real fond of it, but you can get a head rub in while they eat. They have such great personalities and are fun to be around. We also got to spend some time getting a lesson on the process of spinning alpacas fur from Nancy. Such a great job showing us how it is done. They also have a small gift shop you can visit after for some really cool alpaca products, post cards, and such. This was an unbelievable experience that I would highly recommend. We are already planning to go back with other family members. Please, give this place a visit!!!

They came to our school! It was so cool! We've been to many aquariums in California, & Monterey Bay Aquarium is our absolute favorite because the sea otters are just incredible! We've also been to Sea World, Santa Cruz Aquarium, Long Beach Aquarium, and many others. This tide pool experience was unique because each child had an opportunity to touch each sea creature. My son absolutely loved it so much! The kids got to touch sand sharks, sea stars, mini manna rays and so many other amazing creatures. They even saw octopus-looking sea stars, and more. Unlike big parks like Seaworld, where you don't always get to touch every creature because of the crowds, and sometimes the sea creatures swim away, this tidepool experience was perfect. I definitely recommend them for bday party or school field trip experience!

Although this even was solely during school hours, so parents were naturally not invited, I have to put the word out there about how much my kiddos really enjoyed their visit with this traveling aquarium. With PTA volunteers and the oversight of each class's teacher, each classroom was able to participate in touching and even holding some of the sea creatures. Sure, my kids have been to several aquariums over the years, but never in a formal learning setting. My oldest said Captain Bobby went around with several live creatures with a towel and gave fun facts about each one of them. Both girls came home with their own individual raving reviews. They both have cited this as being on of their favorite activities that they participated in all school year long.
