Cool glow in the dark side axe throwing
    Krystle A.

4.5 stars but I'll round up! Such a fun place to go to. I really loved the space and the layout of this place. The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is bc they don't serve alcohol, but that's just for me but I can see why they shouldn't serve alcohol lol kinda dangerous if ur drunk. And maybe high schoolers would love it more bc it's just a fun activity and reasonably priced and clean! It was kinda slow the day we went and I liked it lol. But I heard it can get pretty busy especially on Tuesdays Cory the owner actually made an extra effort to come teach us how to throw the axes and also conversed with us about his business and family.Such a kind nice person!! Definitely recommend! Parking lot is big with lots of parking, and they have a menu of mocktails!

    Small axe in the target

My wife and I have been axe-throwing one other time in Lake Tahoe and it was similar, but with some notable differences. Here, the wood target is not an actual slice of log, so it was sometimes more difficult to get the axes to stick. However, here there were two types of small axes and both were much more fun than the hatchet we used at the other place (and couldn't make stick at all at the other place). Here, there is an absence of alcohol and food, but they do have snacks and mocktails. Gavin did a good safety briefing and helped my Mom feel more comfortable. At $30/person/hour, it's a reasonably affordable way to experience something new in the area and have some fun.

We came here for a Valentine's Date and it was so much fun! It was the first time here and we were just so excited to try something new out for date night! Check-in was really easy they had you sign a liability form, and then you have someone to coach you through how to safely and properly throw the axes . Each lane comes with like a table top and also a bar top that you can sit on you can order drinks or snacks at the snack bar. There wasn't too much to choose from so either either you got to eat before you come or eat afterwards. They're very small snacks. Like chips and popcorn. It's not anything big at all. So it took a while for us to figure out how to properly throw it once we got the hang of it it was so much fun! It's really empowering and it's a really great way to just release energy and tension and just have a good time! We definitely will be coming back again! It's a pretty big space. They also have a dance floor cause I think they do line dancing here and I think you can also come here for like birthday parties other events. I think it's a great place to like come with friends or double dates or whatever.

    Different sized axes

Great experience this afternoon at Whoop. Overall it was a super fun experience and great environment. Fun music playing the whole time. Coaches were awesome -- very funny and helpful. Lots of variety with the axes make it fun. Lots of shapes and sizes. Great place to go for a date night, going out with friends, or work/school event. Would recommend checking it out! Tips: --you must wear closed toed shoes to throw axes --if you are struggling, make sure to ask the employees for help, they are very willing to give you pointers and help improve your throw --coaches accept tips so make sure to give em a nice tip if the service was good! You can tip when paying initially or wait until the end and give a cash tip. --if you're going with a big group you'll want to call ahead or make a reservation online. If you're going with a small group, you should be able to walk-in

Special thank you to the staff for making my daughter's 15th birthday and absolute blowout success! I can't begin to tell you what a perfect venue this was for me to host her and nine of her friends. Not only did the staff help me figure out drinks decorating set up and overall experience. I am just thrilled to death that this venue is offering a safe haven for teenagers around this area to hang out. Have some fun do some line dancing and just celebrate life. There are so many people in the society who complain about kids having nothing to do and I give whoop ax a gold star for offering a fun Saturday night. I really can't recommend this place more and thank you again for making my daughter's birthday the best experience ever!

Happy Birthday to me! And always hang up the axes and hatchets when not in use. You can also see the cute photo opp mural on the far wall

This review is long overdue (ha! I rhymed!!) I booked a lane for me and some friends to celebrate my birthday. Booking and paying for us was an easy process. It's difficult to find as there was no large external signage to mark their spot but luckily we followed another group of flannel clad folks who were going in as well. (It's at the far corner of the desolate looking shopping center where Big 5 and We Play Loud are) It's a big space that's clean and well maintened with friendly coaching staff. We were greeted by Olaf, their resident dog, as the owners Kaden and Cory explained the safety rules and taught us how to throw. There are a variety of hatchets and axes to throw so if you're not good with one kind, there's still hope that you can hit your target with another kind. They have non-ETOH beverages for purchase as well as snacks, clean bathrooms and cornhole and giant jenga too! We'll def be back. Note: throwers must be at least 14yo, wear closed toe shoes and don't be scared to throw!

    I tried lol

This was my first time going to an axe throwing venue. I threw an axe over a decade ago at a wedding and nothing stuck. I wasn't sure how it would go this time. Having a coach was reassuring. Tristan (also known as Dirty T) was our coach and he taught quick lesson before we started chopping wood. Well, his lesson paid off after one of my throws stuck. He provided feedback during our session which helped us get better after each throw. My favorite axe was the "Big Bertha". So much power with one axe! We were a party of 4 and we each had a lane to ourselves. I'm not sure if that's the same if it was busy. I saw that you could become a member and throw axes anytime!!! I'm totally thinking about it!

Turns out axe throwing is a skill that requires a bit more than just chucking it at the wall!…read moreThough I'm still not quite sure how the magic happens where it sticks, after throwing a few dozen times just about anybody can get the hang of it. We had a group event here, and after a bit of a slow start, it got really fun. There were three different kinds of throwing axres, as well as a saw blade and a metal measuring tool! My personal favorite was the large two handed axe. Its weight and power made it fun to throw and had a satisfying thunk when it hit. The sawblade was also fun to throw and the metal protractor was different but satisfying. It was a bit freaky, throwing axes right near to everybody else but the cages they had around each target were quite effective in stopping some of the missed throws. It still feels like it's crazy to be doing that kind of thing but nobody was injured. They also have a pretty cool dance floor in a live band started up while we were there. Apparently they have square dancing and line dancing. There are also days when families can come in so kids can get in on the throwing action too. Overall, it was a fun and different activity. Worth checking out. Five stars

There were a couple things that could have used improving, but mostly my experience was excellent. First thing to mention was that this time I came for the Rage Room. I was really excited and have been wanting to try one for a LONG time. We had a great time, so, first I'd like to highlight what went well... THE POSITIVES *Emma was a great instructor. She gave us the low down, rules, made sure we were safe and had tons of fun! *Just like Lake Forest, this is a giant space and has tons of axe throwing lanes, games and a snack bar. *This location even has a mechanical bull. *HUGE dance floor for line dancing. *Fun and upbeat environment. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: *When we first arrived and checked in, we saw another group go ahead of us, despite having a reserved time for 7pm... *We were not told how long the wait would be and felt like we were just waiting around and not knowing what was happening. *Would like a little more variety of items to break...like cups and plates. *Personally for me, the rage room felt very claustrophobic, it was small, hot with no ventilation. *I did not enjoy the spray paint smell in the rage room - cool idea, but not great for breathing in. One other thing we realized is that you can do the room alone or with up to 4 people. We chose to do a group of 4, but next time I'll do it individually. While in the room as a group, you have 15 minutes total, but still have to go 1 by 1 for safety. The cost is the same per person (no deal for a group), so it makes sense to do it 1 person at a time in my opinion. Overall though, I don't want to discourage anyone from enjoying a fun night at Whoop Axe. I think they're doing a fantastic job and provide a great experience. The staff are all friendly and make sure you are instructed on how to stay safe. If you're looking for a unique experience that you'll never forget, this is the place for sure!

This is a nice place for either a rage room or an escape room…read more A few weeks ago, I did a rage room experience here, which was my first time doing a rage room. Marc, the owner, was very nice and kind. He even allowed me to do a special request where I wore an outfit (which is a Morpshuit with t-shirt and shorts) underneath the gear used for the rage room. Very kind of him to accommodate this. I have never done a rage room before, so it was a unique experience. Shattering glass, and breaking things felt very liberating and it helped me release tension/anger. Additionally, at the very end, there was even another surprise where Marc even taught me how to throw ninja stars on the wooden board. It was super cool. At first, I couldn't get any ninja stars to stick, but on one of my final attempts, I actually did get the ninja star to stick, which was awesome!! I was pretty elated that I was able to do that! Anyways, shout out to Marc the owner for being very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cool, friendly place to do a rage room or an escape room. I should check out their escape rooms some time soon.

Overall a positive experience with a couple of cons:…read more - When we arrived, there wasn't any clear instructions of where/what we should do as there is no front desk. Also took a while before someone came out to help (I think they were in the back assisting maybe another customer?) but some signage would help. - Waivers could be sent prior to arrival to save on time since it was a google form - staff could be more welcoming and better at explaining. I understand it may be sketchy to go to a customer's car to evaluate items brought from home since it could be a risk to the staff, but I think it could either be instructed earlier before arrival OR simply just state that you cannot leave the business. The delivery of the comment made by the staff was not very smooth (almost felt like implying we were bringing something bad or wrong). - A timer inside the room might be helpful as it's hard to keep track of time once you're destroying things. - Phone "mount" could be better secured with a clasp or something because one bump and our phone fell on the ground where there's shards and scraps everywhere. This could have easily scratched the phone. - Room felt cramped, but understand that may be limited by the size of the store space. - Half of the group was arriving late, in which I shared upfront and thought that the staff would assist in getting them as ready as possible before our first group came out to swap, but when I came out, I saw that they had not even begun to change. I understand the face shield and gloves are limited quantities, but they could have started fitting in the other items like jumpsuit and face coverings. - Also as we were swapping, I ended up giving the second group the instructions when it really should have been the staff to give them the run through. It felt very disorganized during the swapping. For the price, I think it would be nice if each group received at least one larger item and not just cups, plates, and glass. All-in-all, it was fun to let out some rage by wrecking things and not having to clean it up. My friends and I did enjoy this different experience. Also fun to watch them from the room cam inside the Axe Room as they rage.

I wanted to sit outside to enjoy the summer weather, but after seeing the lack of staff, we sat in direct view of the front desk and general path of travel. Even then we had to repeatedly ask for our drinks. Service was slow, disorganized and the staff just walked around without urgency. I'd love to say the food made it better, but that wasn't the case. The smoked rib tips arrived so dry that they were practically beef jerky. They tasted like they had been reheated in a microwave. Our son ordered wings with buffalo sauce and they came out bone dry without the sauce. We alerted a random waitress because ours was nowhere to be found and she took them back to be coated. It says it's 3 people per lane and so if you have a bigger group, you have to reserve an additional. We arrived earlier than our reservation. Time but they let us join in early. We quickly signed a waiter and got to our lane. The worker demonstrated the different axes we could throw. There was a small and thin one, small axe, medium axe, long and big axe, and a shovel. I liked the small and thin one best. It's cool because the target is digital and they have tons of different options to pick from. Our favorite was the regular target and the tic tac toe. They had strategy ones as well. I noticed that the board panels were thick and the axes were dull and so it would still, but fall off quickly after. Not sure if I wasn't hitting it with enough power, but even the worker couldn't get his axe to stick when he was demonstrating. You can't drink alcohol inside the building, but there's a bar next door. They let us go back and forth, but that took time away from our hour. They have drinks and snacks for purchase. Overall, it was a really cool experience and a great price compared to some other Axe throwing spots I've seen.

Other than that super fun and their scoring/gamification of it was really cool!
