Both Callie Kennedy and Maddie Simmons are top-notch therapists and I highly recommend them both. I saw Callie Kennedy for Occupational Therapy (OT) from April to July 2025 for persistent arthritis pain in both my hands/fingers. Callie helped relieve my pain and strengthened my fingers. Callie started each session with heat on both my hands to relax my muscles, then she massaged my hands and each of my fingers, followed by a variety of challenging and fun hand and finger exercises. My ability to pick up small objects and open twist top bottles has improved. Callie helped increase my hand strength and fine motor skills which is especially important for an older adult. My review for Maddie Simmons is long overdue. I saw Maddie for physical therapy to strengthen my ankles, feet, and calves from Jan through Feb 2025. I had severe cramps in both my feet and calves day and night, and my stride had become shorter due to leg pain. In addition to massage, Maddie taught me exercises to strengthen my leg and toe muscles, stretch my calf muscles, and improve my overall balance. Now I am happily back to tai chi and Zumba. It's awesome to have a therapist for the full session at SoCal Elite Physical Therapy in Irvine and not be passed off to a PT assistant as many PT places typically do. I saw Maddison (Maddie) Simmons at the Irvine office today and holy cow was I impressed! 1) She showcased a really thorough knowledge of the human body, 2) She was methodical and data-backed, testing her hypothesis with bodywork/exercises before landing on her treatment plan. The mobility work and exercises that we did in our 1 hr session together alleviated my pain ~50%. 3) She emailed me a detailed diagnosis and treatment plan with pictures of the exercises a couple hours after our session so I know Im set up to do everything correctly at home. It also sounded like I can follow up with her over email if I had more questions. I would see her for anything and everything!! Also the whole team (front desk, insurance, etc) seemed very organized and professional. No doubt, this is a well run clinic. read more

I was diagnosed with a hip labral tear more than 10 years ago after running 3+ miles, five times a week, for several years. Since then, I've seen at least half a dozen physical therapists and five chiropractors. Nothing helped. My biggest struggle was the nagging pain that woke me up most nights--and I couldn't rely on Advil because my stomach doesn't tolerate it. My orthopedic doctor mentioned arthroscopic surgery but ultimately recommended a hip replacement for more predictable results. He prescribed PT mostly to satisfy insurance requirements, and I went in with very low expectations. I only chose Michael because my wife had seen him and strongly recommended him. From day one, I realized he was different. Michael actually thinks. He doesn't just go through the motions or hand out generic exercises. He studies how your body moves, asks smart questions, and adapts on the fly. On my very first visit, he came up with a stretch that pulls my femur deeper into the socket. Somehow, that simple idea dramatically relieved my pain. It became my go‑to whenever I woke up hurting--and within a month, those nighttime flare-ups stopped entirely. I've been seeing him for more than four months now, and my pain has gone from an 8 or 9 down to a 2 or 3. He's treating the root cause of my hip issues, even retraining me on how to walk and run properly. For the first time in a decade, I genuinely believe surgery is unnecessary. Michael gave me back a level of comfort and mobility I thought I'd lost forever. If you've been dealing with chronic pain and feel like you've tried everything, go see him. Personalized care with knowledgeable therapists. In my previous review of SoCal Elite PT I was recovering from a reverse shoulder replacement and had a great experience with Michael Vuong. I had total knee replacement done in November and did both pre-hab to ready myself for the surgery and post surgical physical therapy here. Again with Michael Vuong who I trust to get the most out of my body. Again I want to stress that at this office you will not be turned over to a PT assistant after a twenty minute session with your PT. Your entire session is done with a fully trained Dr of Physical Therapy. This allows for maximum results and very personalized service. At my six weeks post op appointment with my orthopedic surgeon I had achieved the expected metrics for 12 weeks post op. And I am not an athletic person. But I like to be active and want to regain my life as soon as possible. I cannot praise SoCal Elite or Michael highly enough. Not only does he work on the parts of me impacted by my surgery but he always checks in and attends to other body parts that are out of whack. And I always feel better and that I am making progress after my sessions with him. read more

Hands down some of the best physical therapists I've worked with. Everyone is friendly at the office and they have helped me tremendously with my low back pain and hip flexor issues. I appreciate the hands on and 1 on 1 time compared to the other PT offices through major medical groups, who just give you 15-20 min or less. Great therapists; appointment scheduling could be improved The care and treatment I received SoCal Elite Physical Therapy was terrific. The therapist helped me greatly reduce my pain and improve my physical performance! My concern is with appointment scheduling. Two (out of five) appointments were not logged into the appointment system despite an email trail confirming the date and time. It was frustrating to show up at the confirmed date and time, only to be told that I didn't have an appointment, and needed to reschedule despite emails confirming the date and time. I wasted time driving there and taking time off work. I cannot fully recommend this place given the above and hope the team can improve its scheduling accuracy. read more

Highly recommend coming here for any OT or PT! I've been dealing with wrist and elbow pain on and off for the last few years. I had gone to OT before, but I was seen once in person with a single phone follow-up, so there wasn't much progress. The pain came back again recently, so I decided to try OT at SoCal Elite. I ended up working with Dawn and I'm glad I did! From the get-go she was very thorough with the initial exam, and made sure to clearly explain her thought process, plan of treatment, and what goals I had for treatment. She made it clear that since this was a chronic issue, it may take some time to heal, but I was already feeling more confident than the first OT treatment I went to. We started seeing each other weekly, and slowly progressing exercises. She is very knowledge and passionate about her work, and it showed throughout my treatment! During our visits she would always be checking in on how everything felt and if any adjustments needed to be made. Slowly but surely I started making some real progress! At this point I'm back to where I wanted to be when doing work and hobbies, and I have Dawn to thank for that. My Ortho gave me several occupational therapy locations to choose from. I decided on Socal Elite Physical Therapy and have not looked back since. My occupational therapist Dawn, a certified hand therapist, has worked magic on my injured finger. Dawn will work with you (with consideration of your line of work/lifestyle) in creating a treatment plan. She is knowledgeable, skillful, and amiable. A session may look like: - Updates/Re-exams/Measurements - Treatment Modalities - Exercises/Strengthening - K-taping It is important that you follow your treatment plan to the best of your ability. In addition, be honest with yourself and your OT(s) so they can adjust to your progress. I recommend scheduling in advance your OT sessions. If there is a scheduling conflict, there are other occupational therapists you can see as well. I have worked with Joanne, who is based at the Tustin location. She has also been a pleasure to work with. My OT sessions have been informative, effective, and fun. I have been treated with kindness and respect here at Socal Elite Physical Therapy. Yesterday was my first visit to Elite. After breaking my tibia plateau on Christmas morning, spending three weeks in a rehab hospital, where I received three hours of PT and OT a day, having three weeks of Hoag home health care, and spending another two weeks with another local PT in Laguna Hills, I was extremely impressed with Brennan Taylor, Jessica Lizama, and Dakota Davalos at this practice. Was referred here by my Doctor after a bike injury and I wasn't able to use my left wrist well at all, couldn't open bottles, put any kind of load on it, and existing was painful at times. Dawn was my PT at SoCal Elite and over a span of 6 weeks was able to greatly increase my range of motion, as well as help me build enough confidence to start putting weight on my wrist, and even getting back into a more regular exercise routine again. Went in for my meniscus tear and what a journey I had with them. I am a frequent visitor to this place and it was my pleasure that I got to train with two of their therapists Michael and Maddison. I majorly worked with Michael but few times Maddison has helped me as well. Both brings their vast experience in treating such injuries and have been my pillars of strength in this recovery journey. On top of it, the cool interns they get from various colleges who get equally trained and have also helped me at times. Michael has been educating me about all the other muscles I have in my body, so that I don't stress my knee anymore and is a great listener. Any time I had experienced any discomfort, he would listen to the issue and then try to replicate it to understand what am I doing wrong and then educates me on how to address it and get me out of that discomfort. Through out my journey on meniscus tear I learned the importance of other muscles - quad, hamstring, glutes, hip abductors, etc. how my body has these strengths which I can use to stress less on my knee and able to play pickleball again. Their office staff is very helpful as well and able to schedule me on times I needed and then following up with calls if any change in my schedule is required. Went to SoCal Elite for a bothering pain in my lower back about a week ago. Met with Chris Nguyen and he was very thorough in treating me. He pinpointed the area of concern and gave me info on what is going on and gave me info on how I help myself when I am at work if it starts to aggravate itself again. Other than the treatment, the facility is extremely clean and professional. All of the workers are wearing their mask and they sanitize everything afterwards. I ended up at SoCal Elite following hip replacement surgery. Everyone there makes you feel welcome from the time you walk in. Michael is my main therapist and really listens and works to determine where my pains are exactly and what's the underlying cause. He's gone above and beyond by not just focusing on my hip therapy but focusing on other pain areas to give me a better quality of life. I've been blown away by his technical knowledge as well his quick and precise identification of what is causing specific pain in various parts of my body. He then focuses on therapy and exercises to reduce that pain. The other therapists also seem as knowledgeable and caring. They all seem to work together and bounce ideas off each other. I was referred to SoCal Elite by my hand surgeon, Dr. Katcharian, to undergo physical therapy in regards to an ugly broken trigger finger that had healed up very crookedly. The entire staff at this facility are friendly professionals who are highly knowledgeable and skilled in their craft. I had the pleasure of working with Dawn Tran, who is so incredibly kind, patient and thorough. I spent many weeks with her doing specific exercises that would ultimately stretch and strengthen the tendons in my hand/finger so that I could use it comfortably again. Not only was regaining function of my finger a priority, so was the aesthetic of how it looked. Dawn listened to my concerns and put together an at home regimen of exercises for me to work on outside of therapy and she created a few different splints for me, which all significantly helped my recovery. I went in looking like ET and after several months of PT with Dawn, I graduated from therapy with a working straight finger that I never thought would have been possible to have again before going to SoCal Elite. Not only did Dawn help me reach my goal, I feel like she will be a friend for life. I've been going to SoCal Elite for a few months for OT. I highly recommend them for PT and OT. The front office staff is very friendly and helpful. The facility is always clean and the staff disinfects everything between patients . My OT Kenzie is very good at her job and always makes it a comfortable and fun environment. When you're in pain and getting treatment, it's nice to actually enjoy going in and Kenzie and SoCal deliver. You feel like you're among friends and that really makes a difference when getting treatment. You are also always working with your OT and not handed off to an assistant so you get your monies worth!
