I had an ankle injury/achilles tendinitis and was referred by my sports medicine doctor to another PT practice. They did not try to understand the nature of injury and assigned generic exercises for me that worsened my condition. I was in pain after each session and did not improve. I went to see a foot orthopedic surgeon and he referred me to Core Performance. From the first visit, Yorick Yuan spent the first session assessing my condition and analyzing the nature of my injury. In future sessions, each exercise was tailored to improve my healing. After 2 weeks, I notice a significant improvement. After 6 weeks, I feel so much better and close to being completed healed. I'm continuing PT to work on my gait, walking up and down stairs and overall strength in my legs. I feel each exercise helped me and I have made tremendous progress. Let's start with the actual PT. I've been recovering from a hamstring autograft ACL reconstruction (+ meniscus stitch), and Dr. Taylor Sillekens has employed the perfect balance of pushing me to progress quickly while demonstrating holistic care for both my knee and overall wellbeing. He puts a lot of thought into his programming, which is both challenging and creative- I believe I've left every session having tried a new exercise. My mobility and strength bounced back so quickly that I found myself stronger than I was prior to the injury within less than 6 months. Core Performance has a lovely staff team as well! The PT aids are quite attentive and consistently check on my form/correct me if I'm off. I can't recommend Dr. Taylor enough as a physical therapist. From day one, I had already felt like I had known him longer than just our first session together. He was knowledgeable, attentive to my needs, and genuinely interested in my recovery process in regard to my IT Band Syndrome from running. He would create a personalized treatment plan catered to my injury and constantly adjusted my exercises as I progressed. This is my first experience with a physical therapist and he really set the standard for the quality of care and communication he provides. I started coming here 4 weeks after a spinal fusion surgery (TLIF - L4-L5), afraid to move, twist and lift due to warnings from my surgeon. I met with Matthew Shihab for an evaluation and he got me started on stretches and exercises right away. I was a little surprised at what they wanted me to do since I was so scared of injuring the surgery site, but Matthew assured me that I can handle it. At the 8/12/16 week progress evaluations, I'm positive I was further along than if I had tried to recover on my own. With the help of Matthew and the aides (especially Janelah, Sam, Cole, Eric, Rose, and others), I feel like I'm not only progressing with my recovery but also taking in as much as I can for continued health and strength. The front desk staff, especially Amanda and Val, are always welcoming and helpful and the insurance billing has been completely honest and transparent. Compared to other PTs I've been to, this has been the most time spent with the DPT that I've experienced. The manual and massage gun therapies each time are amazing and keep me coming back. I have also met with Taylor to teach me new exercises and he was great. From what I've observed, everyone is great here and Sooner or later, I'll have to "graduate", but I'll take what I've learned and keep working on improving my strength, balance and flexibility. Fully tore my ACL and MCL a year ago and didn't know who to go to for my rehab. I heard about Core Performance and looking back on it, I'm so glad I chose Core Performance for my needs. They have been nothing short of the best quality and care I could imagine. I was walking around with a stiff knee and a limp when I first came to Core Performance, and honestly wasn't feeling very optimistic about being able to walk normally again. What a woke company. First I contacted CP twice, to learn what they do with regards to back surgery PT. I wanted to schedule a meeting with them to learn what they do, as well as vet them (will not work with people or companies who are woke) So, when I emailed 3 times no response, so now my first phone call, was a complete disaster the girl had a negative attitude refused to explain to me about the company, I asked for another she refused again, I stated, i wanted to speak to someone with experience on PT for my injury. Well that went know were, 2nd call, I went online filled out their detailed information on their site to schedule a appointment, got a text back schedule was set for Wednesday at 1:00 PM then I recieved a call stating I will get a call to confirm the appt, later that day, I did get a call from a younger woman, who identified as a admiinstration person, she asked seems like 20 questions which I replied and she was quick unresponsive and seemingly in a hurry to get off the phone. (SAD) Afterwhich, she stated she did not have access to the text I recieved from PC, she was going to speak to the supervisor, I explained I did not want to sit on the phone for a internal issue, I wanted to confirm my appt. (was getting very frustrated speaking to a untrained person. Next after we got to the end of the call, she asked again for my medical insurance card # information which I gave to her as much as I knew then, but assured her since, I was driving at the time so, (I explained I didnt have the card # on me which, I explained in the beginnging of the call to no avail. I can not say enough about this place! My eldest son first started attending Core Performance after his spinal surgery. A few years later my second son had to come to physical therapy for his knee issues. He met Taylor and the rest is history! As a family we love this place. Taylor and Kat are absolutely amazing. I started coming here in April 2023 to Oct . I had injured my shoulder was diagnosed with bursitis inflamation. I chose not to get steriod injection. I met up with Dr. Taylor, who is awesome!!!! He looked over my MRI and set up a program for my recovery. His staff is great! And the other Doctors as well. It was easy to set up appointments. For the past 10 years I had many injuries due to physical exercises, from torn ligament to pinched nerves. This time, I have a pinched nerve on my first rib. It causes tingling on my left arm and pain when lifting anything more than 2 pounds or wearing my own clothes. Luckily, I selected Core Performance, Irvine location and am very pleased with the service there. The front office staff is extremely friendly and pleasant. Dr Taylor Sillekens is very competent and one of the best physical therapists that I have sampled for the past 10 years. Within 5 minutes of interviewing me, he quickly identified the specific spot of my injury. He applied many technics that help release my pinched nerve. Through extensive work with my past physical therapists, my physical recovery has gone as far as they could manage after five extensive spine surgeries over the past two years. My balance and coordination still needed a lot of work to look and feel normal. I needed to go to physical therapists that specializes on coordination and balance. I was diagnosed with a torn tendon in my shoulder and was told to rehab with PT by my doctor. I decided to go to Core Performance PT and I am thankful that I did. Dr. Kelly met with me to evaluate my injury and then helped me to rehab my shoulder to 100 percent over the next several weeks. I am sorry but this company is not going to work for me. I scheduled a consultation at their Irvine facility for today at 9:40 AM. After confirming they called back and asked if they could move it to 10:40 AM I said sure. I arrived approximately 10:33 AM. They told me it would just be a minute before the Therapist could see me. At 10:45 I explained I have a service for my sister I needed to be at and needed to leave at 11 since they said it would be just a 20 minute consultation. I waited another 6 minutes until 10:51 and it was clear the therapist was busy until 11. I left. If they had said he was busy until 11 to begin with I would have rescheduled the appointment. But they were going to make me wait. I will not do business with anyone that disrespects my time like that. read more

Core Performance is the absolute BEST place to go for physical therapy! If I could give them 1,000 stars on here, I would. I struggled with low back pain since 2013. Anyone who has had chronic low back pain can attest to how utterly debilitating and life altering it can be. So this review is going to be long, because I've suffered for so long and they've helped so much. The amazingly smart and talented Dr. Kimi and incredibly awesome and knowledgeable physical therapy aides not only helped me get my life back, they also got me ready to hike the Appalachian Trail, which is 2,193.1 miles long. It has been a dream for the last 5 years, and they helped me to turn it into a reality. They not only helped me get back to what I love doing, they also helped me to do awesome things I never thought would be possible. I can deadlift 100 lb. off the floor, run up mountains, and simply enjoy life. Chronic pain and the fear of my back "going out" will never dictate my life again. They also helped me with plantar fasciitis, and with balance work, so that I hopefully never trip or sprain my ankle while hiking again. They always answered all of my questions, and I learned so much from them because they're so amazing. I play a ton of volleyball and I coach volleyball as well. I started getting pretty bad tennis elbow and golfer's elbow about 7+ months ago. I first went to Southland Physical Therapy and after 4-5 sessions, I did not see a lot of improvement. I switched to Core Performance and met Dr. Taylor. He is just excellent. He communicates very well, explains his approach and most importantly why in a way that an average patient would be able to understand. He has a very objective approach. He established current state data so that he can compare with measurements as we progress to see an unbiased assessment. I had clear progress within the first 3 sessions. I'm at 100% yet (maybe 90%) but I am back at playing volleyball regularly and can fully engage in my volleyball coaching.
