A couple of years ago my MD gave me a referral for Wassiem Abdelmalek to treat my stenosis and arthritis pain. Wassiem recommended that I be treated twice a week and I had about 10 sessions before I finally called it quits. I found him to be extremely unprofessional with his billing practices. Apparently, for whatever reason, he didn't want to go through my Blue Shield insurance and instead billed me personally at $50 per visit. He does not know how to run a professional medical business and even asked me what my regular MD charges. I highly recommend Dr. Wassiem as a PT without reservations. I was incredibly lucky to have found him on a referral from a friend. From the moment I initiated the process to coming in to see the doctor was nothing but efficient and ironically, pleasant for someone going in for pain treatment. Dr. Wassiem is perhaps one of the kindest and also incredibly knowledgeable doctors I've met. I can't say that a lot of the people I've met in a health-care field because they usually are only one or the other. Every time I've entered his practice, or seen other patients enter his practice, Dr. Wassiem greets the person by their name. I don't know how he remembers everyone, but he'll ask them how they're doing and acknowledges what the patients say and reassures him/her that they would work on the issue together. I actually look forward to my therapy sessions. Sessions usually last from 45-55 minutes. The first part of the session involves a warmup and various exercises recommended to you from the doctor based on your pain/issue. Then the latter part of the session involves Dr. Wassiem working his voodoo--a term he uses, and rightly so, to make you feel better before leaving his practice. And most of the time, and the second best part aside from Dr. Wassiem's voodoo, is getting iced at the end. His reviews speak enough about his wonderful work, and if I ever come across a negative review, I'd sincerely question the person's experience. And in saying that, I highly recommend going to Dr. Wassiem because not only have I felt better from my injuries, but there are so many others who I've overhead come in to say they've been to many other PTs, and none can compare to the healing they've had under Dr. Wassiem's care. I can't sing enough praises, other than to tell you- Dr. Wassiem is not only hilarious, welcoming, kind, and excellent at his work, he's so down-to-earth. I recently completed 2 months of physical therapy at Saint Marina's Physical Therapy. Wassiem is an experienced therapist certified in McKenzie technique and counter strain. Not many PTs are certified in OC. I came in with back pain related to history of car accident and sports accident from this past year. I thought they were chronic pain that just won't go away.
