This is my first physical therapy experience and Joey has done a tremendous job addressing my muscle/nerve issues as well as teaching me how to fix my posture and my walk, which seems like it's a basic part of your everyday life that no one pays attention to but I learned how important it is to do it correctly. Every session I had, I felt like I was getting stronger and am able to activate more muscles with Joey's guidance. Both Joey and Angela also teach you simple at home exercises you can do in order to improve. They're very patient and answered every question I had during my sessions and I've learned so much about my body over the past couple weeks. Dr. Joey and his staff are amazing. I was having trouble with range of motion in my shoulder and Dr. Joey provided me with the best care. He diagnosed me with "frozen shoulder" and was very thorough and knowledgeable. He answered all the questions I had ( I had a lotttt) and he was very patient. He had me practice a few exercises before I went home and I was able to practice them daily before seeing him again. My range of motion improved each time I saw Dr. Joey and I am about 90% now. Other things that made my visit positive was that the office was easily accessible and parking was ample. Although the lot gets busy, there are plenty of spots. I would recommend Dr. Joey 1000000%. I've had shoulder and ankle pain for ~10 years. I've been to many other PT clinics and Body Politic was the only one to get me moving without pain again! The patient experience is amazing, and you never feel like you're in a factory getting churned in and out for your sessions. Dr. Lee worked with me and she was amazing! I loved how I wasn't evaluated and then just passed off to aides to do exercises like at other clinics. I received 1:1 care and a lot of manual therapy during my sessions, followed by learning the exercises so that I could do them at home. I've seen a ton of progress and I feel prepared to continue my active hobbies! (basketball, hiking, weight lifting, etc). A different but good experience from the typical/conventional physical therapy. Body Politic takes a holistic approach at finding out the root of your pain. Joey is beyond a great physical therapist! I've had chronic neck pain for years and Joey has helped me not only by finding the source of my pain, but also helping me to learn how to use my muscles the appropriate way. I once hit my jaw and had fluid in my ears and Joey was able to clear it and I felt the brain fog fade. Another time I had a migrating headache and Joey was able to figure out it was my facial nerve and I have not gotten a headache since. Joey has always been flexible with me and has always considered what my priorities are, even to helping me figure out how to do the proper squat or dead lift. This is my first physical therapy experience and I'm glad that I did it through Body Politic. Joey and Angela know their stuff! I mainly worked with Joey while my husband worked with Angela. I really appreciate that Joey is super informative and guides me throughout our sessions. He's helped me fix my posture/walk, relieve nerve tension, and overall lessen stress on my body but I know Joey and Angela can delve into so much more outside of that as well. Went in hoping to get my posture fixed; came out aware of more issues with my body than I thought (I.e. how my concussion from 15+ years ago is still affecting me to this day - without even realizing it!) Dr. Joseph & Dr. Angela were both very accommodating, warm, and helpful, as they thoroughly examined my physical well-being & guided me through some exercises for which I can already see/feel the results. Even when I struggled to learn certain exercises that were foreign to me, they were both very patient with me, and walked me through the exercise over & over again. I highly recommend Joey for physical therapy needs. He goes beyond regular PT, in my opinion. I went to see him not because of chronic pain or any recent injury, but more to strengthen my ankles, which I had severely rolled multiple times in the past. I went in open hoping that I would learn not just to strengthen my ankles but also the root cause. From the first session, I have learned so much. I was floored by the things I did not know were indicative of issues that I thought were "normal". I have been working on the exercises he gave me and have seen changes in my general balance, strength, and ability to access and activate muscles I had been misusing or not using at all. Dr. Luo is awesome! I personally haven't had any experience with physical therapy and unlike a lot of people, I didn't go primarily to address a specific injury or issue. As a new dad, I wanted to just do a general check up on my body and make sure that I was aware and mindful of my body to prevent long term issues and pain based on the often neglected things like posture and simple exercises. I was very appreciative of how attentive Dr. Luo was to my specific situation and desires and how he took the time to come up with a specific treatment plan catered to what I was hoping to achieve. I also loved how 'hands on' he is unlike other therapists I have heard of. Dr. Luo doesn't just throw a bunch of exercises at you but he really takes the time to maximize your time with him by teaching, educating and treating you until the very last minute. I've had sciatic nerve pain come and go for 7 years now. I've had several different therapists over the years and although the pain would subside after each set of treatments it would always come back worse. I needed someone to provide a lasting solution. Over the course of treatments with Body Politic, Joey took a more holistic approach and began treatment by thoroughly assessing my posture and training me to gradually sit, stand, and walk in a way that would prevent my disc from ever slipping again. My husband and I have been visiting Body Politic for several years now. We view it as an investment in long-term wellness and maintenance of good mobility. Sometimes we are coming in with specific pains or issues but generally we are seeking to correct issues that come along with everyday life such as postural issues related to sitting. Dr. Joey and Dr. Angela are wonderful at finding the root source of aches and pains which often start somewhere much different than where the pain is expressed. I have been playing sports for about 15 years, and after several injuries at my knee and ankle, my performance decreased. I felt frustrated. I went to Dr. Luo for some pelvic pain I experienced during pregnancy. Dr. Luo is definitely an expert in his field and is passionate about what he does! He was professional and explained things in a way that I was able to understand. He was thorough and went above and beyond to make sure we maximized each session. I've gone to Dr. Luo with numerous injuries from the past and more recent. Ive started going to Joey because of back pain and shoulder pain that started to originate from Covid lockdowns. Dr. Luo was able to not only help alleviate some of the pain, but taught me the cause, and prevention of the pain as well. After a few sessions I haven't return to Dr. Luo for that pain, but have come back to address old injuries as well. I've also gone back to Dr. Luo about my sprained Knee Ligaments, and it just seems like he's always able to help me on the right track. One thing I love is how hands on he is with his therapy. He's not just teaching us workouts, but really helping get rid of scar tissues, moving joints, as well as doing work with nerves. I've had sessions where I would walk away with relief from that day! I think what I appreciate is the fact that he not only addresses the pain, and how to strengthen, but he really does a good job in educating, and it's really helped me to stay more aware of my body than Ive been before. Dr. Luo really cares about his patients and takes the time to explain his work and what he doing. I have been struggling with lower back pain, neck pain, headaches and lots of nerve tension. Since seeing Dr. Luo, I have seen great results and have gained so much awareness of how my body functions and if I am using the correct muscles in my body. It is remarkable how much I dont know about my body and how much you can learn in each session. I am also 22 weeks pregnant and have been seeing Dr. Luo to help me with my hips, abs, and deep breathing to prepare for labor. I trust Dr. Luo and his practice and am planning to continue to see him even after labor to make sure my body is healing properly. Hands down the best Physical Therapist I've ever been to! For years I have been dealing with hip tightness to what i thought was tennis elbow/golfers elbow to lower back pain and felt no relief with whatever I tried to do until I started going to Dr. Luo! Just with a few sessions, I was able to find not only short-term relief, but long-term relief through certain exercises he prescribes! He digs deep to find the root of the issue and tackles it. Dr. Luo is one of the most detailed oriented and patient doctors you'll ever meet and you can definitely tell that he cares deeply for the well-being of his patients. He specializes in the nervous system and it was my biggest issue. He assesses your posture, your stride, your work set-up, your car seat setting, and even down to your breathing to ensure you body is primed for success. 15/10 would recommend!!! Best PT I've ever been to! I went to a different PT clinic before I met Dr. Luo and was not satisfied with their treatment. The previous clinic did not thoroughly analyze my body to see what was wrong and instead, gave me the same exercises to do for months. The pain was still there and it never got better. That is when I went to go see Dr. Luo. For a few years, I've been dealing with a shoulder and lower back pain and after going for a few weeks, I can already see an improvement. He knew exactly what was wrong with my body and helped me understand the cause of the pain and what I could do to prevent it from here on out. He doesn't just tell me what exercises to do. Instead, he explains to me why we need to emphasize on these workouts and educates me about how my body works. What I love about Dr. Luo is his one on one interaction with his clients. After going to a few sessions, I can tell he really cares about his patients. Not only does he show me exercises during our session, but he also sends me videos to follow every week in case I forget the proper form for some exercises! This review is long overdue but still applicable. I went to Joey in my second trimester of pregnancy. I initially wanted his help in easing neck and shoulder pains and my friends recommended I see a PT while pregnant to help with lower back pains down the road. I've never seen a PT before so everything was new to me. Joey was so informative and patient and he explained everything that he would be doing. He has a holistic approach and I knew exactly what he would be working on for each of our sessions. During our sessions, Joey also taught me breathing techniques that I could use while in labor. He also gave some tips on how to prevent or minimize tearing in labor. I am so grateful for his expertise and what he did for me because I had such a smooth and easy third trimester. I will most likely never ever see a different PT again. Joey does an amazing job addressing any concerns and pain that I may have, explaining the reason to why I'm feeling pain. Dr. Luo has been nothing short of amazing! Unlike other PT clinics where they give very generalized treatment, Dr. Luo was extremely detailed in his examination and treatment. Another big plus is that you have the whole session with him, whereas other clinics will usually only give you 15-20 minutes with the actual PT, and the rest of the hour with an aide to do the exercises. Amazing physical therapy experience. In our first consultation, Dr. Luo was able to present a complete, holistic picture of my lower back condition and explain step by step of my treatment timeline. Already in one session with him a lot of pain and discomfort was relieved. He calmly provided explanations and answers to my questions about my treatment. Any concerns I had, Dr. Luo had immediate answers to, but also provided a lot of context for me to understand. Many times, giving a layman's explanation of treatments is difficult, but Dr. Luo made sure that I understood what my pain was, how and why he suggested a specific form of treatment. Unlike other PT experiences I've had, Body Politic's has been much more personal and thorough.
