Yonkers Tennis Club in my opinion, is pretty great. It's important to note that this is almost strictly a TENNIS center - don't expect treadmills, a weight room, a pool etc. If you're looking for a comprehensive fitness center, this may not be the right choice for you. Martin, the gentleman who evaluated my skill level is a terrific guy. He pointed out my strengths and weaknesses, and suggested some programs that could help my game. The process to set up the lessons for my group was easy, and appreciate Coach James in making this simple. As for the actual lessons, here is a review from my nanny who took my kids to the lessons. She has experienced kiddie soccer lessons from other businesses. She said Coach James SocRoc is thre best. "It's the best soccer I've ever have. Coach James successfully created an activity that is appropriate to the age kids and is not so complicated for them yet exciting to do. He made sure that kids are paying attention and have the voice of authority that kids listen yet not scared to the coach. I was excited to teach my kids to swim. That only went so far, they were not as excited to learn from mom, lol. The group lessons at the Riverdale Y were great. They worked with them on their comfort level, the instructors were very patient and it did the trick pretty quickly. I highly recommend ‍ There are many programs here at the Y that are great! The pool for lap or recreational swim, the gym and classes for working out, the after school programs, Camp Twelve Trails, music lessons, theatre, other youth and senior programs, and so much more.
