Scheels is absolutely massive and somehow manages to have just about everything you could possibly want for sports, hunting, outdoor activities, and more. The selection is impressive, the store is consistently clean, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful. Beyond the sporting goods, they also have an enormous selection of clothing, footwear, accessories, and other gear. One of my favorite things about Scheels is that they carry a lot of unique brands and products that you simply don't see at most other retailers. That alone makes it worth the trip. There are really only two downsides: it's almost always busy, and it's not cheap. That said, the sheer size of the store usually keeps the crowds from feeling too overwhelming--unless you're at checkout. And while the prices can definitely be on the higher side, I somehow manage to walk out with something almost every time. I honestly wish there were several Scheels locations throughout the Metroplex instead of just one. This is the kind of store you can spend hours wandering around in and still find something new. Here we met Serenity, who was rude, unhelpful and unempathetic. First I asked if someone can help me to put the bike into my car. She said no because it was not a curbside pick up. I told her I'm a woman with a child, I need help with putting the bike to the car. She said let her ask someone. This would be the very first store who would not help a customer upload a large item! She later reluctantly said someone may help me upload but they are not required. When I showed her my order number on my phone and she said, "Can you read the number to me?" Then she told me because I just placed the order, the bike was not assembled. I asked why the website said it would be ready within an hour. She said she didn't know. So I said to her I would be back tomorrow to pick up the bike. She said our bike won't be ready until Wednesday (today is Friday, so it turned from a "Ready within an hour" to 5 days in store pick up.) Finally I told her to cancel my order as my son and myself were just disappointed from this experience. She said you can do that yourself online. When the work was finished, I finally had the chance to see the final product and meet Blake in person.
