I can see why they have a score to begin. While the idea to ask for shoes to try on through a kiosk thing is a good idea it takes them long to get the shoes and even though they ask what you have on they just shout out the shoes so make sure to pay attention. That wasn't really the problem. I did get my shoes but hard to try on another pair. Samuel at check out was the problem. He was rude and unapologetic. People came in from the wrong side while I was in line and the took them before me. When I asked where the line was he said it didn't matter and that they were there anyway before me so it didn't matter. So why have a path for a line if you're just gonna take whoever? We spoke to David in the bicycle area about a month ago and brought my bike wheels in on Saturday. I knew that I needed new tubes and maybe new tires. The sales guy at the HOKA's shoes section was extremely unprofessional. I came in with my colleagues to buy a pair of HOKAs for all everyone and I asked if my size 9.5 is available for a pair and he said yes and he came back after a long time saying he doesnt have it. Then he said do I want a size that is 0.5 more than what I asked - I said sure, I can work with that because I really loved the pair of shoes. He made me and the folks with me wait for 20 mins and when I saw him, he has completely forgotten about it. Then when I asked about it he brings back another pair of shoes and gives it to me. We were there for 45 mins in total and I was planning to leave, then the floor supervisor came and asked me what was the problem. I explained what happened and she went and got me the first 9.5 sized pair I asked for. It was there all this time. The sales guy was so lazy to even check if the size I initially requested was even available. I dont even know why he ignored me - I have shopped from other Dick's showrooms and it has always been good. If there's ever a time to throw a "dirty dick" joke it's at Dick's Sporting Goods. It's dirty; a complete mess. Unfortunately, they're under construction so it's even worse now, but dear Lord do they need to get it together. I was looking for a catchers skull cap and, I kid you not, I had to rummage through a pile of hats thrown on the floor. I don't know why they weren't on shelves, but literally +30 hard-shelled caps were just chilling on the floor of Dirty Dick's Sporting Goods. I eventually found what I was looking for but it would've been nice to have things more organized and, oh I don't know, on a shelf. Seeing as it was the last cap of the brand I wanted, their stock availability could use some work. I'm praying I didn't get head lice or cranial-herpes by trying the cap on (I planned on trying it on in store, then buying it online so it's super fresh and clean). It looks like they got rid of all of the gun stuff because of new laws and consequently all of the paintball gear as well, which is a real bummer. So look elsewhere if you need paintball stuff. read more

Went in to buy some new cross trainers on 2/2/22. Drew was working the shoe department and was great. He approached me, asked what I was looking for, showed me all the cross trainers for each brand. I love the products that DICK'S carries but this location has to be the dirties location I have ever seen. It looks like they do not own a vacuum and there are multiple stains all over the place. I waited almost 15 min to get a dressing room and that's after not finding anyone in the store to help me and still waited after asking someone at the register. The upstairs area where the clearance section is is all mixed with women's, men's, a d kids clothing not to mention it is all styles of clothing and nothing is done by size. If you want to find anything yuh ou have to walk around all 20+ racks. Don't have any questions because I never saw anyone upstairs for about 30 min. read more

After waiting about 15 min and hoping to be assisted I realized there were 0 associates on the floor/ So..I had to go and try to hunt down someone myself. I was unsuccessful, so I went to the cashier and asked her to call someone to men's shoes. About 5 min later a guy moseyed out from the back looking like he literally just woke up. I mean what the heck is going on over there?!? The shoe department was in shambles and the guy bringing us the shoes looked just as disgusted to be working there...as I saw him also look down at the floor as he punched his fist into one of the nerf-like balls he picked up. I mean I don't blame him but on the other hand if he or anyone there was actually working the place wouldn't look like a swap meet gone haywire. I walked in to buy a pair of Adidas sneakers as a Christmas gift. I waited for TEN minutes in the department and NEVER saw an employee. There were at least 4 other customers shopping as well, with no customer service. I left upset, because I knew this is exactly what's killing brick and mortar stores and sending customers to their iPads and iPhones to make purchases. I walked back through the store 20 minutes later and noticed one employee in the department with about six customers waiting to be helped. He looked frustrated. I walked out the door. Let me start out by saying I spend A LOT of money at Dick's in general and am savvy about shopping with their sales and coupons. I have returned items here without fuss and have done buy online pick up in store here probably a dozen times without too many issues... not great but I'll also keep doing it. My beef here is with the firearms department. They have been sexist towards me every time I go there to grab ammo or look at firearms. I asked an opinion on ammo I haven't tried before, just to be asked in return "what kind of gun does your boyfriend/husband have?" and then listed off top brands of ammo that "he would probably like" and told to "make sure I grab him the right caliber, which is the size". I have also visited with a male coworker and asked to see a pistol only to have the associate show my coworker the gun when he was clearly not the interested party. Umm. Hello! I asked! Not him! Look y'all, I get it. Maybe I'm not the typical customer (even though this is 2018 in Texas). And I'm sure no one meant to offend me. But get a grip on your assumptions that can drive away customers. I have purchased firearms and ammo at Cabela's and Academy MANY times with absolutely no outward bias whatsoever. If the unnecessary destruction of their unsold rifle stock wasn't enough to avoid this Dick's department, this will keep me away for good. read more

I've always kind of shied away from this place but recently I had to buy some golf shoes and encountered Thomas Allen on his first day on the job. He went out of his way to help me find what I needed and was completely personable and charming. Think it was the "new kid" syndrome and that became hard boiled? Nope. I went back a week later to look at treadmills and there he was again, all smiles and earnest helpfulness. Listening to how committed he is to sports and kids, I just know he's going to be their top salesperson in no time. Absolutely will be back, and will seek him out every time. I was in Dicks twice in the past two weeks. Both times I was in, the hunting department is full of boxes all over the floor. The boxes are stacked up to the point you can't even get to the gun counter. Some of the amo that they keep behind the counter prob does not sell because you can't get to it and the customer service sucks so bad that the guy is too busy on his phone to even care that you there. They seem to think that they are doing you a favor by being there. Walking through the store, you have to step around and over pallet jacks and boxes to get through. I contacted customer service about these issues and their response was "sorry, we try hard". I guess not hard enough. If you have time to go somewhere else please do so. read more

On December 23rd, 2018, at about 10:15 AM, I was a customer at Dick's Sporting Goods at the Stonebriar Centre Mall, 2611 Preston Road in Frisco, Texas. After completing my purchase at Dick's, I attempted to enter the main shopping mall through Dick's. The entry was gated and I was told by the sales associate the gate would not open until the mall was open at 11:00 AM. I observed the mall was open and commented on how many people were walking around on the other side of the gate. I was told it was "store policy" not to open the gate until the mall was open. I spoke with the manager on duty, Mike Pulver, and he confirmed the store policy was not to open the mall access gate until 11:00 AM when ALL mall stores opened. I explained the mall was open and I wanted to go to the food court, but was denied access. I pointed out to Mr.Pulver other store gates and entrances to the mall were open, allowing people access to the interior. There was a customer on the other side of the gate waiting to get access to Dick's via the interior of the mall. He was also denied entry. I was directed to enter the mall through one of the other entrances by exiting outside and climbing two flights of stairs. After entering the main mall through the open entrance, I observed other open stores, such as Macy's, Dillard's, and JCPenney's, allowing their customers access to the main mall interior. I also observed there were several open businesses, including Starbucks, Williams-Sonoma, and the food court vendors. I believe Dick's Sporting Goods at Stonebriar Centre places an undue burden on their customers by denying access during business hours to the mall's interior when it is open. I believe this policy is baseless and especially burdensome to senior citizens and people with disabilities. I would like for Dick's to change their gate policy and allow access to the interior of the mall during Dick's business hours when the main mall entrances are open. I will contact their corporate headquarters to file and official complaint. read more

They do have a pretty good selection on everything but nothing really sets them apart from other sports stores. Certainly not the customer service. Waited ten minutes this morning in the shoe section for help. There were three other groups of customers waiting as well. Finally, three of the (what appeared to be high school age employees) come out of the back room laughing and talking, appearing to be getting done hanging out back there. All of us customers were visibly frustrated when they finally walked out. Once they saw all of us standing there in a group waiting and looking at them, they were friendly and asked us how they could help. However, the wait was ridiculous when it was apparent that they were not actually busy doing anything in the back room while all of us were waiting. There was one older gentlemen employee helping out a couple throughout this time though, but he was the only one who appeared to actually be working. read more

We ran in here to see if we could find some Texas gear for my nephew before he goes back home. The store had plenty of associates but we were not greeted until we made a purchase. I notice a coupe of the associates talking to each other while we were in the section looking for stuff.....Still no one spoke. I wanted to leave without making a purchase but my nephew found something he liked. When we went to check out there were two other people in front of us and two cashiers working behind the counter. Despite the fact that it was crowded in the store, he returned from the back with different shoes for me to try on really quickly. I was offered solid advice for what shoes would be best for running and given great tips on exercises to prevent shin splints (my whole reason for needing new shoes). Went here today to get my son a new pair of shirts for football practice. New to the area, we were uncertain of the layout of the store. A gentleman who was stocking the shelves was super helpful in pointing us in the right direction. After his guidance we found exactly what we needed. When we went to check out, Elijah helped check us out. He was so personable and helpful in giving us details regarding an extended warranty on the gloves that we wound up purchasing in addition to the shorts! Having gone through several pairs of receiver gloves, I was more than excited to sign up for the replacement guarantee! The people here at this store are super nice and willing to help! So much better than any other Dick's Sporting Goods store than we have ever been to! And we spend a lot of time in sporting goods stores!!! This location also offers an incredible selection of items. I've been to this Dicks on at least 3 occasions looking for soccer cleats for my daughter. First the shoe department is always in disarray and there are not enough clerks, if you are not going to have shoes where customers can help themselves. I wish I could leave zero stars. Every time I shop here, I leave angry and frustrated. After today, I am NEVER going back. It's so dirty, unorganized, and it's run by what looks like a bunch or 17 year olds with absolutely no customer service skills. I needed a fitting room, so I pushed the button to have a store associate come help me. Eventually, a young guy came and stood with his back facing me, just staring off into nothing. I said "sir" about 3 times before I realized he had a work related ear piece in one ear and iPhone headphones in the other ear. Of course he couldn't hear me! When I finally got his attention, I told him I needed a fitting room. He walked around to the other side and knocked on the fitting room door. While he was opening it, another woman walked up who needed the fitting room as well and he let her in that one, even though I was there first! Then he turned around, looked at me, said "sorry", and walked away. SERIOUSLY?!? I walked around and finally found a nasty fitting room with a busted lock. All I needed to try on was a headband, so I didn't care. This fitting room was absolutely disgusting. I ended up finding a headband I loved, but I was so mad, I just put it back. I refuse to give my money to a company this poorly run. Someone from corporate needs to seriously look into this place. It's just awful. read more
