Let me start by stating that looks can be Deceiving!! This place is very hidden! When I first popped in we were new to the ATX and my girls were dying for a place to play soccer! We came in and at first look it seems like a lot is going on, they have karate in the entrance, they have an after school program, they have a barber shop up on the second level, they have adult soccer happening all day, and in the back they have a little basketball court and the youth soccer practice! I was nervous not going to lie but honestly this place is gives you that mom and pop vibe and it is very family oriented. They treat you like family and I absolutely fell in love with the coaches, staff, and the experience my girls have had here. If you want a place for them to really finesse their skills, have fun, and give a overall comfort then definitely bring your kids to try it out! Did I mention they have a mini taco shack located inside as well!! read more

We tried out soccerzone for summer camp this year. Overall... the staff is great - friendly, timely communication and easy scheduling/cancellation. There are several camps running at the same time during the day and they offer half day morning/ half day afternoon or full day camps. It's pretty good place for kids interested in and beginning to try out soccer. The one feedback I have for the business is to make the various options and camps more clear on their website and make signing up easier. I had to get on the phone and speak to an employee to move my child to the correct camps. The prices were off online as well. I was charged more over the phone since they couldn't provide the website prices. The employee was really helpful but it would have been more convenient to sign up online. read more

The fields are getting pretty dangerous to play on now -- especially the smaller field on the far left. Every game my team plays there, they always slip in the same spot, and a couple weeks ago, I slipped and sprained my ankle. Now I'm out a few weeks for recovery. My teammate is out after a knee injury from the same spot in the same game. Last night, a player on my opponents' team slipped in that spot and yelled "I barely moved!?" That's how bad it is. I love playing here and the employees are great, but something has to be done about the field conditions before more people get hurt. read more

My son attended a birthday party here a few weeks ago. It was a bit of a drive, but Soccer Zone is an great venue for a kid's party because it's: 1) indoors - in the Texas heat, this means air-conditioning! 2) clean with a capital "C" (everything from the parking lot to the concession area to the bathrooms) 3) nice soccer pitch - both kids & adults alike will enjoy playing on it. Try playing 6 adults vs. 18 children soccer. Or 3 adults & 3 little girls vs. all the little boys soccer. Everyone will get a good workout and laugh their guts out at the same time. 4) no soccer cleats required for indoor soccer - regular athletic shoes will do, or just bare feet, if you are so inclined. 5) party hosts can bring in their own birthday cake and other snacks/foods. 6) your child will be so tired after two or three hours here that he will have a very mellow rest of the day. read more

I've been playing in an adult league here for about 8 months now. I started playing Monday nights on a men's league and then was invited by a teammate to play on their Friday night co-Ed team. Both nights have been very fun. The staff is always very kind and seem to be well organized. The games always start right on time. I also put my 2 year old in their "Soccer Cubs" on Saturday mornings. The coaches there are great with the kids and always have age-appropriate games and soccer activities for the kids to be doing. read more

Poor management, You pay $720 for a league and you get poorly officiated games , teams that don't show up (and you still lose the time/game) and players just hopping on during a game like it's pick up. This stems from the lack of organization from management and the not enforcing/having the proper rules in place to maintain the integrity of leagues that you pay to play in. Constantly disappointing experience with U10 and U12 teams. Poor management, poor scheduling, poor referees and unfair match-ups between teams. Just today, they had them playing against adult sized high schoolers. I'm done supporting this place and would caution anyone considering joining. read more

Got asked to guest with a team here this week and was excited to finally get to play at the South Austin location. I have had some hard feelings after being denied to play in a league multiple times because I was a free agent or I came a week too late. I had a really great time playing in the Co Ed league on Sunday and was pleased with the way things were run. They had good reffing, the games were on time, and they made guesting super easy unlike how some places are very strict on this. The bathrooms were quite gross with little toilet paper, gross toilet seats, and it smelled pretty terrible. Glad I finally got a chance to try this place out. read more

I don't have much to compare this to as far as other indoor soccer arenas. What I do know is that their indoor leagues are fun for the whole family, and annual membership is affordable. The space is versatile, and you can participate in any number of sports here, not just soccer. You can even take a trapeze class if you'd like. Why would you do that? I have no clue, but you could here. I've participated in their adult indoor league. They also have half field play as well as full field play, so for those like me who are, um, less than in shape in the cardio department, you have an option for survival. Kiddos can start learning the ropes as young as toddler aged. I'll be enrolling my kid soon. And, speaking of the little ones, if you have them, this is a great place to host a birthday party, apparently! You can rent a half field for an hour or so and just let the kids run wild, then have your cake and presents at a table right there. They have a pretty decent concession stand with all the usual suspects from pickles, to gatorade, cady, etc. And they accept credit cards. Missing star is cause, man, it gets warm in there sometimes. But I'm not paying that electric bill so I probably shouldn't complain. read more

My son (8) has autism. It's difficult to find good summer camps for him since he is too high functioning for many autism-specific camps. We decided to try Soccer Zone's All Sports summer camp because his step-brother attended and liked it a lot. On my son's first day, Mr. Glen talked to me about making sure his staff knew about his needs and worked hard to make him feel special and made sure he had fun. Mr. Glen has a child with special needs, so he gets it. His staff is also great with all the kids. They mentioned they had 5 kids who were on the spectrum at camp in this summer. My son has enjoyed the camp very much and can't wait to go back and i never worry about him while he's there. That is so huge for a mom of a child with special needs. I highly recommend this camp for all kids. read more

Very poor service. I went in a couple of times for information, once for my son, once for myself. The first time I was given a brochure and that was it. I was hoping for a tour, to meet a coach, to get put on a mailing list, or some more help figuring out which program was right for my son. The second time, I went in to register for a women's beginner league. I was up front that I know nothing about soccer and was interested in a fun league. The staff reassured me that the beginner league was for me. However they only signed me up for a facility membership and didn't let me register for the league. Instead they told me to just come back later when the league was starting. I had to ask what to wear and whether there were practices. I was not given the name of a coach or any information about the league, but was told to check the website for schedule information. The day before the league was supposed to start, I called and found out it had been postponed a week. The website had not been updated; the front desk person said it would "probably" be updated later that night or the next morning (the day the league was supposed to start). I couldn't make it that week, so I called the week after to find out that both women's beginner leagues were full. I was surprised, since I had gone in just to register and was told to come back and do it later. Bottom line: these folks are not organized and getting any information about a league is like pulling teeth. read more

Love me some soccer, love being able to play indoors and thumb my nose at the weather outside, love that there is a big field, a small field, a basketball court, trapeze lessons and a television always showing sports, love the taco trailer outside at all hours of the night. I happen to live in the general area and having numerous friends whom have participated in soccer or basketball at Soccer Zone South, I was inclined to give them a shot and registered my son for their soccer league. Whoa, little did I know that would be a waste of money and time. I was highly disappointed and we quit early on in the season. Plain and simple--straight to the punch: they LACK ORGANIZATION and STRUCTURE to have a working program. We paid to have our child play soccer and LEARN the sport; not run around in a beat-up-crossing-guard-resembling-wanna-be-jersey with 5 different coaches (whom as a parent I was never directly introduced to), rotating in and out. My child hated it, he never knew who to follow or which child was even on his team. I can tell you my child learned NOTHING. Granted there could have been a reason, short-staffed maybe? Regardless, we quit. And, I noticed my child was still scoring points on their (internet) scoreboard, when he hadn't made a shot. Yes it's a child's league I'm reviewing, but when you're paying for an instructional sport you expect a certain level of consistency in coaching staff and training. Save the green and join a different league. The upside about SS-South they have an inflatable jump-house for the kids to play on while their siblings are participating; the facilities are pretty nice; but they just simply lack the organization I was hoping for and expecting. On a side note: I've watched a season of the basketball games and the officiating is TERRIBLE, not to mention they aren't in the least friendly. read more

It's times like these, when it's too cold to play soccer outdoors, that I really appreciate SoccerZone. On almost any given Friday night you can find me here. They have all different leagues for all different levels of play. You can play all men, all women, or coed. Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Premier, the list goes on! The games almost always start on time, and the turf fields are in great condition. If you don't want to play on a league, you can also rent the small side field for $40 an hour. It's also really easy to pick up games here, especially if you're a girl, all you need is a membership which is $15 for the year. And, as an added bonus, they sell food and drinks (including beer) so if you want to watch a game, or just hang out after playing, it's a pretty good way to spend a night. read more

Soccer Zone is a great indoor facility, mainly for soccer, but they also run basketball out of the complex. This review will hit on the soccer. The facility is really nice - it's open and spacious, and there are bleachers for seating during the soccer games. There is also a bar off to the side for drinking during the game, which I've definitely seen people taking advantage of! As for the soccer, the field is great. Easy to run on and one of the more advanced turf fields. Benches could use some work. The staff seem to keep this place in line, the soccer games start and end on time, so you don't have to worry about having to wait for 40 minutes because the games earlier took so long. However, I will only give soccer zone a two star rating. One reason? The officiating. As noted on the website for Soccer Zone, they strive to have well officiated games. From what I've seen so far, the referees are incompetent and scared to call fouls. I have reffed for over 10 years so I have an excellent understanding of the game at all levels of competition. I realize I play in a co-ed league, but I expect some level of protection - especially for the price we pay. In the two games I have played here, I have had two different referees. In game one, I was taken out cleats up around knee level - from behind. My knee still has not recovered fully. If I was officiating this would be a no brainer red card. Instead, no foul was given and play was only stopped when it was obvious I was not getting up. In game two I was repeated "barged" from behind, with no fouls given. Will it take a lawsuit from a player before they hire competent USSF referees with a demonstrated ability for the game? Most likely. Pick it up Soccer Zone, you have a good thing going -- don't let someone get hurt playing a game that so many people love in the Austin area - Get competent officials that will protect the players (at a minimum). read more

This is a solid indoor soccer facility. Management does a great job juggling adult, co-ed, youth, and children's leagues while fostering an environment which is friendly to all types of players. I am or at least in the not too distant past have been a parent, player, and coach. I have to say the negative reviews here don't have much of a leg on which to stand. Refs are gonna be refs, deal with it hot-heads (and I say that as a good old fashioned center back who thinks he's never committed a foul in his life.) OMG kids coming face to face with popcorn and balloons, if you're against that then I suggest you are against America, Texas, Austin, and your next door neighbor. At any rate, these folks are friendly and provide a good soccer experience for good soccer people. read more

It's been a few years since I first started playing here and I gotta say that playing here has become a much better experience. Before the refs used to make themselves a part of the game, in a bad way, making or not making calls regularly for one team. It was incredibly frustrating. Now, refs are invisible in a good way, rarely making calls and when they do it's to keep the game moving. I don't know what they changed, but it's helped a lot to make playing here a better experience. The leagues are also run more consistently: I feel like I have games every week rather than getting two weeks off randomly. Maybe they changed the software or the number of teams are better organized? Either way I look forward to playing each weekend. It's still a bit costly to play here (it's roughly $10+ a game with ref fees for a 8-game season) but I've come to enjoy it more and hence a better review. When I first moved to Austin I was trying to find a basketball league to play in. I thought being a respectably sized city there should be no shortage of options. I was wrong. There aren't that many, and it's hard to get anyone to contact you back when you email or call. Soccerzone on the other hand was the exception. They have a league that runs in the evenings. Right now I believe it's Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Darrin, the owner, emailed me back immediately when I inquired about the league. It's an intermediate level bball league that plays on a short mesh floor court. Because the court is smaller, it's a 4 on 4 league. By smaller, the three point arch line meets the sidelines if that makes sense. Hoops are regulation height though. The league has two referees per game, which helps keep things speeding along. What's great are most of the guys are all really friendly and welcoming. They get that it's a recreational league, and no one is going to the NBA from here so we're all just trying to get a workout, have some fun, and play hoops. If you can't guess by the name this is primarily an indoor soccer facility. There are always kids running around playing with soccer balls, and it's really family friendly. But, if you aren't a fan of soccer culture and that community, you might be put off. I've always found the staff helpful, laid back, and friendly. It's not very expensive to join the league and there are also open shoot around nights when the court is available. It's also not far from some good local restaurants so if you and your team mates want to grab a bite/drink after the game you can. read more

As a 30+ year old who was looking to pick up the sport I loved as a kid again, I came here and signed up as a member and for the 30+ league. It wasn't until after I had signed up that they put out a schedule, and maybe it's just me, but scheduling every game at 11pm on a weekday is just ridiculous. I don't know what most of the adults that play here do for a living, but that time is completely out of the question for me. There wasn't a single game scheduled for a weekend. Is it just me or does that make no sense? Do people here work during the week? I thought I was in the majority on this. Additionally, while the posted schedule was lackluster, the emails they sent giving me notice that I was "scheduled for a game" were always sent only the day before. I never made it to a single game. This turned out to be a complete waste of my money. read more

I play here regularly and I only do it b/c I really like the guys I play with on this one team. The fields are well maintained but the games get chippy and dangerous and the refs / management seem to like it that way. If you are into that kinda thing, you'll like it. read more

This place is AMAZING, the people there are really competitive but for most part, clean and what I like the most is that both girls and boys are allowed to play so there isn't a separation between sex BUT to get in and just play a few times is 8 dollars???????? F@*k that, the service there was terrible and what happened to 5 dollars? We have always been happy with Soccerzone South Austin. Most of the people there are friendly and relaxed and good with kids. Some of the instructors are great and others can be pretty awful (Logan in particular will make inexperienced young soccer players feel very bad about their (lack of) ability). Soccerzone also has great visiting programs for kids like Coach Collier Basketball in the summer (he is absolutley amazing!) and APA Soccer with Coach Nelson and Abel, who can have your kids feeling confident and loving soccer in no time (even after a bad experience with Logan). : ) read more

Wow. So glad I found this place. Managers were so helpful, got my son on a team, then switched him to the older team that was more appropriate with no hassle and from a phone call. We showed up to practice expecting confusion but coach as aware of change and no drama. Juan and Jacob are real and exceptional soccer coaches who are amazing. Truly 5 star. I feel so grateful to them and I feel I am getting a solid ROI. Highly recommended. read more

My daughter just started soccer classes here for the first time. She has never played soccer before, but so far she loves it. I enjoy watching her, as well, from the provided bleachers, which is nice to have. Although there should be a designated area for all the player's drinks, so that they aren't scattered all over the bleachers taking up seating space and spilling on the bleachers and floor. The coach has been great so far. She is always trying to include and help each child. I like that the kids are constantly doing something and have a variety of exercises and games throughout the class. I wish the class was a little longer though, because the kids have to get a million water breaks, since it is REALLY freaking hot in this place! I'm not from Texas, so the summer heat sucks the life out of me every time I have to step outside of my perfectly air-conditioned house or car. So seeing that this place was indoors AND supposedly had AC was a HUGE reason we checked this place out. When I asked the staff if it was going to always be ridiculously hot in there, they said, "Yeah, until about September." Say whaaaat??? I only signed my daughter up for SUMMER classes! The lady did apologize, but seriously this issue needs to be fixed ASAP. My daughter's class and coach were all completely done and had to end the class almost 10 minutes early last class, because they were all getting overheated. But on the plus side, they do have a fabulously stocked concessions area. I felt so bad for eating a popsicle in front of my daughter while she was playing in that heat, but mama was sweatin just sitting there. I did get her her own popsicle right after her class was done though. :) The rest of the staff were kinda blah. Not great with customer service or information. There should be a marked, designated area and staff member to help with questions, sign ups, etc, so that people don't have to stand in line waiting for the ten 10 year olds in front of them trying to decide which chips and candy to buy. Overall, I can deal with the drinks all over the bleachers, the ten 10 year olds having a hard time picking out their snacks in front of me, and even the so-so staff, but PLEASE fix the AC! I promise I'll still buy a couple popsicles and gatorades (and probably some chips too) regardless of the temperature. My 4 year old and my shopping addiction won't let us leave without one or more of those things. read more

Came here for trapeze class, not for soccer. but reminded me of days of yore when as a wee one I played indoor with my Dad as a coach. These places never look brand new and Soccer Zone is no exception. But, it has a indoor soccer field with all the fixins (electronic scoreboard, etc.), it's clean, offers bathrooms and refreshments, and has plenty of parking. It also has a lot of space for spectators; they even have a section for some type of paddle ball, and of course, a trapeze rig. That's makes them pretty damn cool in my opinion. read more

My 3 year old daughter loves the Soccer Cubs program! She can be a bit shy/reserved at the start of class and the coaches (Isaiah and Diego) are GREAT at engaging her in the activities. We've tried a few toddler/preschool sports classes and this is by far the best. They recently added large ceiling fans over the field which was a nice bonus to an already great facility.
