A great low key spot to grab Cider. There are usually about 10 different ciders on tap and they usually have a couple beers to choose from as well. They let you taste as many as you want before you decide. $6 is the charge per 16 oz, which is fair. Also offer a 10 dollar flight to get 4 5 oz choices. They have a New Hmong cook food truck option serving several ethnic bites, which I have not tried. Regardless this is a staple of my brewery rounds, you can not get better selection of fresh ciders in MPLS!! read more

I had no idea how many different types of ciders there are until I went to Sociable. It is such a fun place to go on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to hang with friends and get a few drinks. Their ciders and fresh and crisp and you can order flights and try a few different ones. They have a large selection of games you can borrow from traditional board games to What Do You Meme? Every time I've gone there are a bunch of people who bring their dogs (reason enough to go), there is always a food truck outside, and there is lots of parking. The only downside is that Sociable is usually crowded and it can be hard to find a table, but I've been able to share one with strangers or sit outside. This is a great place to go if you have an afternoon and want to do a Northeast brewery crawl! read more

Wonderful place however it is a bit hard to find at night. the place has an unfinished industrial look with hanging ventilation and open rooms. We were so looking forward to visiting a cidery as we have experienced quite a few breweries. This place was hopping - super busy - on a Friday afternoon. To be expected and we weren't surprised. Some of us really love drinking cold, flavorful ciders at a picnic bench overlooking a parking lot in a still sort of industrial part of town. Some of you aren't gonna be into that scene, but I love it. This place is fantastic. Amazing selection of ciders - all of which were super tasty and refreshing. Great service. Didn't get to try the cider or even talk to staff because it was so jam packed, you couldn't even turn around without knocking someone's glass. Cider Werks is from the instant you walk in, an inviting place with a small force that works hard. Rustic feel with the wooden interior, you can see the pallet loader and the filler for the canning process. I'm guessing they would never run it with people there, but it would be cool to see them in action. Anyway, the bartenders are all very friendly and more than happy to let you try some samples, so you are bound to find something that you like. There is a nice selection of ciders ($5-6) so this is a great place to go if you're a non beer drinker or gluten free. While several of the ciders don't really suit my fancy, I would go any day for their belgian beer... The Curious Goat food truck is stationed there and wow, the food looked and smelled fantastic (especially the cheese curds). I love the indoor seating options, but on a nice summer day, the patio is great too. With the large parking lot, it would be impossible not to find a spot, almost to the point that when you drive in, you wonder if you're in the right area. This place is fantastic and a really good addition to the NE beer scene. The space is super cool and the brews are great. All of the ciders are fantastic - the Freewheeler is a great staple, but I also love Hop-a-Wheelie and Spoke Wrench. I love that they do small batches of beer so that things are constantly changing when you go in. My husband heard about their "soft opening" back in the winter, so we went to check it out. That was months ago and we have been back many times since. Now that the weather is nice, the patio is a great, dog-friendly hang out spot. Love the food trucks and also that the Pizza Luce in downtown Mpls delivers to this location! The Rustler and Spoke Wrench?! A match made in heaven! read more

Ok, the cidery itself gets a 4 or 4.5 rating, but I wasn't in love with any of the ciders I tasted, so I had to downgrade a bit. I love a good dry cider and Sociable has them in abundance, but none of them really rocked my world. They do firkins and had some interesting looking stuff upcoming, so it would be worth stopping back. I was in town for work and ended up there pretty early and on my own, but the bartenders were friendly without being pushy. It was exactly the way I want a cidery to be. There were many cider options and everything in my tasting flight was delicious. I really liked that there were a variety of styles including sweet, dry, hoppy, etc. There were also four different beers so everyone in my group was happy. The food menu looked great although Sunday there was only a food truck option. There were board games and dogs and the service was friendly. I wish people would keep their dogs on the ground instead of in their laps, to keep the table clean and free of dog hair, but this isn't the cidery's fault. read more

My husband and I visited Sociable Cider Werks last Saturday for a Cider Flight and the free tour, and we absolutely loved everything about this place! The tour guide was excellent- knowledgable, entertaining, and open with information to any questions asked. (He also handled a pesky question after unrelated question asker really well haha). The bartender was super friendly and he was knowledgable as well. The cider flight was great not just because their ciders have an awesome dry finish from their cider brewing hybrid process, but because where else can you get a cider flight?! The whole atmosphere of the place was great, it's open, casual, and even has a stack of board games to use while sipping on cider (or beer, but you have to at least try the cider!). We will definitely be back to try their beers and to re taste the ciders, likely with friends in tow! read more

My wife and I love cider, and she's GF so great craft cider at Sociable, accompanied with GF food from The Curious Goat food truck, in a relaxed atmosphere...really it's a perfect package. All the ciders are of good quality and there is a variety for a number of flavor profile preferences. We love the Spoke Wrench in particular and have also adored some of the seasonal varieties...particularly the Jalepeno infused cider. GF Cheese curds from The Curious Goat are incredible as are many of the other options on the regularly updated menu. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming for families with young kids as well so it can be a great weekend afternoon destination. I'll update this to say that Sociable have been serving a variety of house brewed beers as well, and I've been blown away. For a place that started with cider, they sure do know their way around a beer. read more

I went to SCW Brewery with a group of friends back in the winter and I tried the Coffee Cart and developed a major cider crush!!! I can't stop thinking about how much I enjoyed it! My husband and I are moving from MN and so as a departing toast, the same group of friends went back to SCW, upon my request, so that I could enjoy one last Coffee Cart. Sadly, they are sold out for now, but I tried the Spoke Wrench instead. Nice, but not quite as heavenly as Coffee Cart. When I tried to order my beloved Coffee Cart, the bartender was VERY unpleasant. He served three of the five in my party and was NOT sociable at all. I hope it was a bad day for him and this isn't his daily personality. In service jobs, you are there to serve and not serve an attitude. Decided to try this place out last night. My wife and I found a spot at the bar, and sat down. Read the cider menu above the bar and decided what we wanted to try, and waited for the bartender. And waited. And waited. It wasn't even that busy. All the time, she ignored us and waited on other folks. I guess if you don't have tattoos, nose rings or long beards, you don't get served here. Older folks, go somewhere else. After 15 minutes of waiting, got up and left and went to Tattersall. Got served immediately, and had wonderful service. Never again. read more

Super fun space and friendly service. We came here for a brat fest and had all you can eat and drink tickets so I sampled a good number of ciders. I think their cider is average, for regional cider it doesn't compare with Milk and Honey or some of Maiden Rock's selections but it's still a fun spot. read more

Although they have not brought back the delicious yellow Saison yet, these are nice guys that work here. Just took the tour with one of the founders, Jim. Lots of awesome history and knowledge about what kind of place socialable cider werks is and what they bring to the community. Jim acknowledged my request about the yellow beer and said the could bring it back in the future. I mean it is true, they are all about there cider, I guess they just play around with their beers. I have another friend who bought a growler with me just for one beer too. They are that delicious. Big fan of free wheeler and no surprise there, as it is their best seller. Our first time at Sociable was an unplanned drop in on a weekend afternoon. My husband is a cider lover but they are usually too sweet for me so I was skeptical but down to try it. The atmosphere was really chill and welcoming. The taproom isn't sprawling and lofty like some of the new places but has a cozy feel. There was also some outdoor seating that will probably be a less popular choice in the winter. I tried the Spoke Wrench Stout Apple since it was part cider part stout - hoping that the combination would offset the sweetness of cider that I usually dislike. Success! I was a big fan of this combination. It is something that my husband and I could happily get a growler of and both be satisfied. I also had a house made stout for my second option which was delightful but not memorable. We will definitely be back to this tap room! There is also plenty of parking. read more

This is one of my favorite spots in Minneapolis. The staff are great, cider is delicious, they have a ton of arts events and there's plenty of parking (such an underrated bonus). Plus, they always have nonalcoholic root beer, which was such a pleasant surprise during pregnancy. What an unwelcoming dump manned by boorish staff. This isn't "craft" but "crap." It should change its name to Unsociable Cider Werks. I went here on Sunday Sept. 25 for Haley Bonar's album release party. We ordered two small ciders (fearing what turned out to be true: that it would be barely drinkable) but the lump behind the bar replied "Pints only." Is that so, you talking armpit with teeth? Then remove the smaller option from the chalkboard, or can't you manipulate your bony arms in such a fashion? Or do you lack opposable thumbs? The bartenders (a term applied very loosely here) also poured the cider in advance, letting it sit for God knows how long on the backboard, and it was wan by the time it was served to us, adding yet another in a long line of demerits to my experience. The opening musical act was very enjoyable (never got their name) but there was a 45-minute gap before Haley came on and me and my gal ended up leaving as a result,as there was no place to get comfortable and out of the wind. The cider was barely drinkable and the bartenders were slobs in demeanor and performance, there was inadequate seating inside or out, and inadequate tables. Sociable Cider Werks is more keen on moving merchandise than customer comfort: hoodies were $40, and most other articles were $20-$30. The whole event was cash only (something not widely known in advance) so if you were short you had to use onsite ATMs, which of course leads to high fees if your bank isn't on the ATM's network. Who owns those ATMs, and who got those fees? What a bunch of shysters. The venue where the music is heard is a gigantic asphalt parking lot with no shelter and only a few tables, and by few I mean about four: three hightops and one picnic table. A smattering of food trucks ringed the lot selling their food and unsightly "porta-potties" were clustered nearby. What an unsightly arrangement. There were more picnic tables near the foodtrucks, but that was not nearly enough. Parking was awful as well, since the parking lot was all roped off for the musical performance and the crowd, and I must tell the you crowd was very thin. The unwelcoming goons providing front-end security were also a huge turnoff. It might have been the weather this time (cold, overcast & blustery) that kept the crowd small, but the poor and rude service, lack of seating, lack of tables and unpalatable swill this establishment peddled will likely mean I won't imbibe here ever again. read more

Despite Sociable being a cider taproom, I actually was much more impressed with their beer! They had some really unique brews - their Glacier E.P.A. and Black I.P.A. were my favorite! They also had an interesting smoky beer. I wasn't, however, impressed with either of their ciders surprisingly! I'd recommend getting one of their flights for $9. You can choose whatever you want from their beers and ciders and find which you like best. read more

If Yelp would have six stars this place is getting all of them. Sociable Cider Werks makes amazing cider which is not SWEET and actually tasty. They experiment with offerings as well by serving sweet alcoholic apple cider during the winter season. The best business strategy any brewery could do is to find amazing food truck to serve food and keep the visitors inside for longer hours. And fortunate for me the owners of Sociable Cider Werks decided to do that. Goat food truck is AMAZING. Burgers with cabbage, beet ketchup and feta cheese or meatballs are so so tasty and makes great combination with cider. It was time when I would go there every week. This place is gorgeous. I would love to spend an afternoon here. However I really don't like any of the ciders. I sampled all the ones they had on tap and there was nothing I tried that I enjoyed. They were all really dry and bitter. Would it hurt them to make something a touch on the sweet side? This unique cider brewery is a great addition to the colorful Northeast Minneapolis brewing scene. The space is beautiful - a large, long, well-crafted wooden bar allows for pleasant interaction with the friendly owners, and a large seating area works for mingling with friends. The flight of beers/cider costs only $7 and contains 4 generous pours. I loved the cider - it doesn't taste sugary and watery like Crispin, but rather has a full bodied apple taste. As a honeycrisp lover, I could taste that particular apple flavor. Even the dark stout was delicious, and I'm not much of a dark beer person. Definitely make this a stop on your Northeast brewery tour, and I can't wait until it is available in the nearby restaurants and liquor stores. read more

I went for the first time last night. It is a little strange that it is located in what appears to be an abandoned lot. The sign is so small, we only found it because a friend had been there before. The bathrooms are right there and big which is nice. It was packed, and people sitting at the bar seemed annoyed when we would try to order in the small gap between them. The crowd was pretty much hipsters-beards, glasses with thick frames, flannels. So far- not terrible. I'm down to try anything once, never had cider beer. The free wheeler was very dry and tart. It was really hard to drink. My friend had the hop a wheelie, which mildly tasted like grapefruit and had a weird funk to it aftertaste wise and smell wise. Eeek, at this point I'm starting to get weary. We found a place to sit after a guy just shoved me and my friend off the end of the bar. It's cool, long wooden tables next to people you don't know. I'm ok with strangers. The strangers are not ok with us. They move farther away. I'm starting to think its me. Maybe it's the ambiance. I don't know. My biggest complaint is the bartending staff. The first round of drinks they largely ignored us. Finally we got our cider and it took forever just to get change and that was entirely too painful for the gentleman who served us. Trust me buddy, I noticed the look of contempt you gave me, I had to look down, since I towered over you. The second time I went and got drinks at the bar, I rallied against the Hawaiian shirt man who threw me off the bar previously and found a small gap. I waited with my money out to make sure I was seen as a willing paying customer. The bartender looked right at me and started to walk towards me....oh oh....NOPE. He went to the blonde girl with all the makeup on. I take make jacket off, roll up my sleeves and show my sleeve tattoo to hopefully appeal to some hipster that I am cool enough to have another mediocre pint of cider beer. To my surprise I am waited on! Success! Again, I am met with a look of contempt by a taller bearded gentleman who also clearly believes I am not worth his time. I said the mantra, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough....". Wait, what the hell do I care what these people think. We left our crappy beers on the table and left. Thanks for showing us so much hospitality. I'll suggest laying on the bar to get service to anyone I know who goes there. read more

The distillery oprns up into an off street parking lot which is just fine. Good live music & food trucks in the outdoor area. Cute wooden, classic brewhouse feeling inside. We had an afternoon before flying out and really enjoyed spending it here. Ciders were great and I was very happy to have beer options as well; I'm more of a beer drinker but my boyfriend loves dry cider, so we got the best of both worlds. No food here (you can order delivery), and it gets very crowded. My only complaint was that there wasn't enough staff accommodate the crowd, but it is that it is. Love the outdoor seating and the general ambience. Overall, a great way to spend a Saturday. They're also bike friendly. read more
