Really awesome cocktail bar. Not to be a snobby New Yorker, but I'd say this place is on par with many of the speakeasies in Manhattan. The drink menu was obviously impressive but I was indecisive so the bartender asked what my preferences were. We chatted for a few minutes and the results were phenomenal. He whipped up one of the best gin cocktails I've had the pleasure of drinking... Hit every note... citrus, bitter, not too sweet, little spicy, don't overwhelm me. Stellar job. Aside from the outstanding drink experience, we shared some food: deviled eggs, perogies, and a cheese/charcuterie board. All very enjoyable. The meats and cheeses were great and well presented but I'd say quality was about average. Also, the space is immaculate and much, much bigger than expected. So many tables, a ton of bar seating. And this did not affect the service or attentiveness of the staff, as they were all excellent. Definitely try it. read more

Think smoky old fashioned with Aged rum and Drambuie with a spicy pistachio medley accompaniment. Can be a bit noisy but usually a fun lively group. We ordered four appetizers to go and paid $71.00 not including tip. I ordered the Thai meatballs, which was the stronges, but got three meatballs. The Burrata came with no burrata and I got four slices of tomato, toast & olive oil. The Elk egg rolls were baked not fried and were ice cold. This is a really fun place. The mocktails are delicious and not an afterthought (important to me since I typically don't drink). The ambiance is a fun speakeasy vibe. I often struggle with feeling enclosed in basements, but I don't have that issue here due to the decor. Table service can sometimes be slow and spotty, but we've had a handful of excellent servers as well. I'd say it's 50/50 on service. But we still keep coming back! read more

The hubs and I drove up from down South for the Odell Small Batch Fest and were up for the evening. I had been to Social previously but my husband had not. I'll give you the honest rundown of this place. *Wait time - if you think about attending during happy hour and don't have an in with someone there, you're waiting in line. Best advice, tell them you're sitting at the bar. Second best advice, go in as a single and meet your bud downstairs. You have 3 or more people and want a table, 30+ minutes waiting in line (could be longer). *Atmosphere - architecture is impressive. I'm a sucker for old buildings and basement establishments. The bar is (huge) and lit just enough to give off a pleasant ambiance. Unfortunately they pack tables on the floor in there to the point where your up in everyone's grill. This isn't comfortable. Best advice, sit at the bar. If you can, request a wall table (two people). This allows you more space and better experience. *Happy Hour- Sunday through Thursday 4:00 -6:00pm Tuesday: All night happy hour Various food and drink specials. The drinks are decent, random selection, and the food on special varies too. I didn't have an issue with it and would order again. *Prices - Here's the kicker. I would say you'll be spending an average of $10+ per drink. When you add in tip it's an expensive venture. This is why this place is PACKED during happy hour. Once HH ends people clear out. Don't know about regular food prices or quality. *Overall experience - I've been a three times. Two times at the bar and one time with a party of five. The times at the bar were intimate, friendly (staff and people) and enjoyable. It's easy to bs with those around you but bartenders don't have time to chat. There's quicker service when you deal directly with the bar (but during HH, you're screwed with slow service). Apps (food) allowed at bar. Table experience, crowded and slow. The waitstaff was friendly and very attentive. But here's the thing, those who complain during the HH rush never have worked SIN. They try to get everything you need during price reductions. They want too. Why? Increases tip and some just want to make sure your experience is great. If it wasn't busy then you can b--ch. So think outside the box and order ahead and tell them you'd like one more prior to HH ending. They'll accommodate you. Would I go again? Yeah. Will I stop if there's a line outside and I have people with me? No. Happy hour is good there but starting at 4pm isn't an option for most. You arrive late, line & missing out on drinking time. But once situated in the right spot it's a cool experience. read more

For the drinking adventures, there is so much to offer here that you'll have to take it on multiple nights. Don't like what you see? Just ask and they will make something that suits your taste. Their most redeeming quality is the rare pours list that include things such as Pappy and other difficult to find bottles. What makes this list special is their refrain from charging a super premium price. Yes, you will pay a high but fair price. They also limit some of the harder to find bottles to one or two pours to ensure the maximum number of people get to share in the experience. This is extremely commendable and one of the leading reasons while I will continue to frequent this bar. read more
