The wait was THREE hours outside in the Florida heat. There were children there too, who also had to wait in the heat. Totally inaccessible for a service that is supposed to help people. outside the office it states an appointment could be made--- which I called the day before going and was told that office does not take appointments. The website also doesn't allow for appointments to be made. No one was in the appointment line. That seems beyond unorganized. They can easily have people wait in the car and then text them when ready or have the option at the least. TERRIBLE! Ps. My actual conversation with a person took 5 minutes. He was quick and professional. The security folks were unorganized. The whole system to see someone for 5 minutes is a mess. I also want to note I arrived at opening and left at 1:30 pm.

In person experience was just as pleasant as the phone call! I got there at 9am when it opened and there was no one outside, I thought it was closed- my appointment was at 9:30. I peaked inside and saw someone sitting so I waited. The security guard came outside shortly after to check my ID and make sure I have an appointment before letting me in. I was called to the window at 9:08 and was out of there by 9:25. Inside there was only 3 customers, they limit the number of people inside, so most of the waiting happens outside. I personally loved the security guard, very straight to the point, no nonsense type of guy, I can see why some might not like him but he's great, he would fit right in, in NYC. I recommend calling as soon as they open to set your appointment, and also recommend getting an early morning appointment if your schedule allows, and obviously, do show up early, there was a 6 person line when I left at 9:30.

There was a huge line at this place, so you'll need to book an appointment online because they don't do appointments over the phone ( they're ignorant about the whole process, don't bother wasting your time by calling them). Nevertheless, once I was in, it was like a breeze I was out in 5 to 10 minutes. Jonathan was absolutely pleasant to deal with, very calm and polite in the way he spoke. Jonathan, definitely deserves the recognition. Let me caution you, if you don't book your appointment you'll have to wait in the line for 2 hours. The first preference will be given for the people who've placed their appointment

It went smoothly, but definitely recommend having an appointment. We still wanted an hour with an appointment, it is very busy.

This young man was very kind, knowledgeable, patient, listened with the purpose of trying to help me in answering my questions as best he could and never spoke over me, or lead me in a direction that would have freed him up to end the call. In my opinion and knowing how hard any customer service job is whether you have a nice call or a call where the person on the other end is frustrated or rude. Damian helped explain how things work and broke down the difference of SSI & SSA per mail I received and showed not frustration. Thank you Damiah as I asked him how I could honor him by sending tjis post...he did not ask me to ...I insisted because as a former worker in the area of customer service it is difficult and many people do not HEAR with the purpose of helping and understanding the customer/patient and talk over you...Damian did not do this and I am grateful and wish him the best. Keep being kind to people like me that are scared, frustrated and looking for answers, help as best you can...kindness goes a long way and these days we can all use it...thank you Damian.

A post office that looks more like a courthouse in Rome than a place where you buy stamps. Big, clean, and shockingly well-kept--like the feds actually cared what the outside of their buildings look like. Two USPS ATMs glowing like twin shrines to the gods of convenience. Inside? Friendly clerks who smile like they don't know they work for one of the most famously sluggish institutions in America. Lines move. People actually seem to get what they came for. It's a post office that dares to flirt with efficiency. It's still the USPS, so don't expect champagne service and caviar stamps. But if you're going to mail a package, dodge jury duty letters, or ship your mother-in-law's fruitcake back to wherever it came from, you could do a hell of a lot worse. "It's still bureaucracy--but at least here, bureaucracy comes with a decent smile and a damn fine building.

They can't seem to answer a question without being rude, complain when they see you're carrying more than one envelope, and are always shouting at people. This is especially sad considering I loved the distribution center that was here before (yes there were some interesting characters working there as well, but not blatantly rude).
