The wait was THREE hours outside in the Florida heat. There were children there too, who also had to wait in the heat. Totally inaccessible for a service that is supposed to help people. outside the office it states an appointment could be made--- which I called the day before going and was told that office does not take appointments. The website also doesn't allow for appointments to be made. No one was in the appointment line. That seems beyond unorganized. They can easily have people wait in the car and then text them when ready or have the option at the least. TERRIBLE! Ps. My actual conversation with a person took 5 minutes. Not sure when it changed because I checked a week ago and was told no appointment required, but an appointment IS NOW REQUIRED. If you wait in line they'll send you on your way and tell you to call to make an appointment and the automated system to get to appointment booking stinks too. Not only have I been calling for 2 days but have been on hold for over 30 minutes and the call is hung up on everytime. In person experience was just as pleasant as the phone call! I got there at 9am when it opened and there was no one outside, I thought it was closed- my appointment was at 9:30. I peaked inside and saw someone sitting so I waited. The security guard came outside shortly after to check my ID and make sure I have an appointment before letting me in. I was called to the window at 9:08 and was out of there by 9:25. Inside there was only 3 customers, they limit the number of people inside, so most of the waiting happens outside. I personally loved the security guard, very straight to the point, no nonsense type of guy, I can see why some might not like him but he's great, he would fit right in, in NYC. I recommend calling as soon as they open to set your appointment, and also recommend getting an early morning appointment if your schedule allows, and obviously, do show up early, there was a 6 person line when I left at 9:30. read more

There was a huge line at this place, so you'll need to book an appointment online because they don't do appointments over the phone ( they're ignorant about the whole process, don't bother wasting your time by calling them). This social security office is the most unprofessional and disorganized as they come. We filed a disability case for our daughter in 2020. We sent all the information in and I called periodically to see the status.. I was put off every time. Then we received a denial in 2022! So I decide to go in this time and start again. I asked a simple question to the security guard and he was so obnoxious. I asked if I can pick up a form to try again. He says I have no idea. So I went to the kiosk and put In the info and left. They sent me a time to call in for the phone interview 8-5pm . I called at 9:00 am. It went straight to voicemail. Left message . Called again at 1:00 voicemail mail left message. There was a light skin gentleman who refused people the ability to step outside because he said they were closing early. These folks have no sense of customer service. I was Interviewed by phone by a very nice person,and, I had an appointment supposedly with her the next day in order to bring her some documents. She gave me the appointment time and instructions for when I got there. We'll all that changed the minute I walked thru the door, starting with a rude security guard, to make the story short I never got to see the person I was supposed to, someone else not very nice saw me, I tried to tell her all I had to do was bring the documents to the person I spoke to the day before. Well first she was not pleasant, and kept saying things that I already had spoken to the other person about. Unfortunately, I did not get to talk to the person I spoke to on the phone, therefore is harder to get anything done. I hope the social security Pembroke Pines office really review and/record their calls. I had the rudest employee provide the worst customer service experience. He seemed unbothered so that tells that his superiors tolerate this kind of behavior. Let me first start off with on June 24th I called the same office with inquiry about my loved one benefits as he was being discharged from the hospital and is disabled. The young lady who took the call was polite and told me that my loved one needed to be present in order to obtain that information. I totally understood and what she said made perfect sense so i called the office with my loved one present on On July 3rd at approximately 2:25pm. The rude man who answered the phone was rude from the get go. He answered the phone unprofessionally and when I told him the story behind my call he said he needed to speak to my loved one. He either did not listen or did not care this person is disabled. My loved one got on the phone and was giving him permission to speak to me and he proceeded to say that he needed to confirm that it is fact him so he needed him to provide his SS number. It's common sense that not everyone remembers their social number from the top of their head plus my loved one does not have the best vision. The social security representative decided was not going to accept my loved one to identify himself. I got back on the phone to explain to him again what was going on but instead he hung up on me. I tried calling back two times and he would pick up the call and place it on mute. When I realized that, I used my other phone to call and he then answered because he did not recognize my number. At this this time I just wanted to speak to a supervisor because I not going to tolerate disrespect. He then insisted that I must first give him my ss number before finding me someone. Why? I am not calling about a social security issue for myself plus why would I trust to give a disrespectful person my social security number who could possibly use it for fraudulent reasons? Yes. That is possible if this person could have acted in such a manner to begin with. Social security supervisors and superiors is that how you train your employees to treat people who've worked hard in this country and paid into their social security? This individual don't need this job if that is how he is going to treat people. I will be sending in a formal complaint because this is unacceptable. They have to see many people and carefully. They can't make a mistake and you don't want them to either. Hold your horses. Ideally, you want to make an appointment before hand so they can speed things up a bit faster. I've been here without an appointment for marriage business and after signing in for a ticket, I only had 10 people ahead of me and it took less than 20 minutes before I was seen. Don't be overwhelmed by the large quantity of people sitting in lobby. Or even the line outside the door (I made it for 5 minutes). Patience is key here, my friends! Everyone is here for different purposes, and some take longer than others to help. Another key is clarifying exactly what you need help with so they can get you in the correct line. Therefore, if you received mail for the Social Security Administration, and you don't understand what it's about, try calling first. The computers organize the necessities of people and put you in categories. The more vague your reason for being there, likely, the longer you are going to have to be there. They claim that they don't have my passport because they never received it; however, they did get the form I mailed along with my passport.
