I was with him this morning when we called for a city inspection for one of the clients , and the woman who attended us was rude, and discriminating my father over the phone. I wanted to grab the phone and tell the woman that her behavior was not appreciate yet my father said it was "okay". He was saying simple clear numbers , and she kept cutting him off saying " what , ugh , what I don't understand what you're saying. " Another thing my dad said " soil inspection " and she said "what ? for what " in such a rude manner. I don't understand why there's such rude , impatient , unprofessional individuals who supposably are there to work for the city and community don't have the slightest respect for the individuals of the community. My father did not grab her name or else I would've taken it further with a complaint.

They do charge a lot of get rid of small amounts of garbage, it's a flat rate of $35 up until a certain amount. I wish there was like a $5 dollar option cause sometimes people just need to get rid of a few extra trash bags of garbage. I used to take some cardboard for free during the pandemic. You need to bring a hard hat, closed towed shoes, and I think an orange vest. I'm not sure if they are still allowing people to toss away cardboard but this is what I did about 2 years ago. Up until my neighborhood allowed cardboard to be picked up ever 1 week versus every 2 weeks.

A lot of big brand favs in one area. Described as a seaside city of the coast, in Ventura County with homes on/off the water like Seabridge Marina and Westport Marina. Enjoy the Oxnard Shores as well as Oxnard State Beach Park. Visit the US Navy Seabee Museum, open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM (closed on Sundays). And just outside the perimeter fence for the Naval CBC Port Hueneme/Naval Base Ventura County/NBVC. Private flights and flying course are available at Oxnard Airport which once took commercial flights prior to 2011. Elevate your mind at Oxnard College, a junior college, off that infamous Rose Ave. The Oxnard School District provides jobs to nearly 4K. The city of Oxnard as an entirety has over 53K in students, grades K through 12 at 54 different campuses. While very spread out compared to some parts of SoCal like Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, Coachella Valley or even parts of San Diego Oxnard has a lot to offer. More so being between the city of Ventura as well as Camarillo. Under 40 miles from Santa Barbara, by car or train, traffic pending. And less than an hour from the start of L.A. County in heading in the direction of Leo Carillo or Westlake Village/Agoura Hills. The Cinemark Century Riverpark and XD is the big movie theater, though the Plaza Stadium Cinemas 14 seems popular as well - their website is down but it still list things as showing... I'm not Oxnard expert in the slightest, but having ventured here more than a handful of times in the last two decades I've seen it blossom a bit.

Love the harbor, marina, awesome beaches and its people. All the festivals and events that are offered to the community. I love that I can write, call or message my councilmember and he will respond within hours. I have been given random acts of kindness multiple times by strangers at restaurants, coffee shops or simply by walking on the street. It's that type of love that makes me so thankful to be part of Oxnard and say it loud and proud. I have lived in Spain, SB, Washington D.C. but my heart is always in Oxnard. I am so happy with all the new things coming to town from the murals to the revamping of our harbor. Oxnard has a terrible reputation but its peoples resilience is what will continue to make it such a great place to live and thrive.

Had to take a relative here for a biometrics appointment. Appointment was predetermined by USCIS…read moreabout a week after we submitted the online application. Got there about 10 minutes early. Abundant parking in a somewhat busy shopping type center. This office is controlled. A staff member is right at the door to greet you and ask you what you are there for and forms his line of questioning based on your answers. Then he provides info and directs you to the metal detector security guy (armed guard). Remove your metals, place in tray, and walk thru the detector. If it beeps, he wands you. Next, the first guy gives you (or if he doesn't, you ask for) a number and you take a seat in the front waiting area. There were only a few people, maybe 10 in total, all quiet. Except a lady brought her daughter and grandkids and they were loud and annoying. Another guy was hyper ADHD on the spectrum and could not stay still or quiet. He had talk to everyone, and pester the staff, and everyone. He had to go in and out of the office several times getting re-screened by the security guard each time. When your number is called, the clerk processes your paperwork and clears any issues. Then she hands you another number and you return to the front waiting area. Finally, the staff member calls the new numbers and has you sit in the middle waiting area predetermined, numbered, chairs. Then the back area official calls out your new number, and escorts you to the back area processing for your appointment. There is a restroom. Clean, orderly office. Overall, a somewhat good experience. Staff were nice, professional, courteous. The atmosphere was serious. It is a controlled environment where they tell which seat you can and cannot sit in and they direct your movement. But once in the processing area, the staff is very nice and personable. We were there less than an hour. Thank you to the staff for the professionalism. They provided info, resources for more info, and support.
