Socialite Coffee Bar is one of the few coffee places in town that's not a chain that is actually open past noon so I was excited to give them a try. The inside is really nice and cozy looking. I don't know if it's because we arrived at 3 (an hour before they close) but one of the women working there was busy sweeping and the other was off in la la land, just staring out yonder. Only when we were ready to order did she acknowledge us. Listen, I get it. You're tired, it's been a hard day and you wanna go home already, truly I understand. We were gonna get the coffee. drink it and leave but its the coffee itself that I had a problem with. I ordered the beach bum special. It was supposed to have all these summer flavors infused into it like coconut and what not and it didn't taste like anything. It tasted like a straight up bitter latte; I even had to add sugar because it was more bitter than what I'm use to drinking. I drank it because I just dropped $6 on a small cup but I honestly did not enjoy it at all. To add insult to injury, at around 3:30 the la la land lady started putting the bar stools up on the tables beside us and making all this clean up noise as if to let us know we were overstaying our welcome and we knew it was time to leave as did the other folks who were sitting beside us. Came by while we were in the area visiting family The vibe seems so laid back and down to earth. Definitely a local hangout with regulars. That's always a good sign. They use espresso by Onyx the blend name was Monarch. The espresso had notes of berries and honey. The service was friendly but nothing over the top. The pastries were delicious but tasted premade. The sandwich was absolutely delicious with real chicken breast, avocados, and a delicious jalapeno aioli. The bagel was good but tasted like a grocery store bagel. I enjoyed their cappuccino and my husbands latte with the housemade cinnamon honey was delicious but too sweet for my preference. The day before we came and got iced lattes. Went here in a rainy day and to be fair it was a Columbus/Indigenous Peoples day so maybe more crowded than usual for 11am but there is not a lot of seating here. 4-5 small tables and about 5 stools at a counter facing the window. There are two small tables outside but it was raining. I only got a coffee, but the food I saw looked very good! They have a mix of breakfast items and some lunch options. Springfield/East Longmeadow do not have a lot of cute coffee options so I would say this is a place to visit for a cafe experience. Coffee was good and bonus for having a mug that was the perfect latte mug, I actually sought it out and have it in my cart to buy online. (The cup does matter!!!!!) After a quick search on Yelp for a coffee and a light bite, we ended up at Socialite Coffee Bar in Springfield. Socialite is a small coffee shop in a shopping plaza with a nice sized parking lot. The inside was filled with friends socializing on this Saturday afternoon, that there wasn't any place left to sit. They had the most adorable burlap chandeliers as well as some plants hanging off the ceiling. They had a chalkboard menu, with a variety of tasty options. I got the Jammy Egg Toast and the Churro latte. My friend got the Avocado Toast and French toast latte. My Jammy Egg Toast was so aesthetic and equally as tasty. On a generous size of sourdough bread, first they had a nice layer of tomato jam, hard boiled egg, greens and mayo. This tomato jam was made in house, it was a bit sweet, and was an excellent layering piece to my toast. My latte was also very tasty, and truly tasted like a sugary Churro. It arrived beautifully presented in proper cups with a beautiful design. My friend was equally pleased with her pick. Her avocado toast came with a fried egg and pickled onion. She was also very pleased with her French toast latte. It was similar to mine, except without the cinnamon. We had a very pleasant experience at Socialite Coffee Bar. I wouldn't hesitate to stop by here again when in the area. read more

Just tried today this hole in the wall coffee place and I was not impressed. Very overpriced coffee ( same level of Starbucks ( - got a small plain coffee with almond milk and sugar at the price of $5.23 - whew!!! add insult to injury - the 3-4 front staff was ignoring me while I was looking at the front menu and then waited for a few seconds by the cash register. No one really cared and paid attention so I had to call them out- the male staff made a lame excuse saying that he thought I was not done yet . Give me a break . On my way across town, I passed this coffee shop. It's outdoor seating, hand-scripted chalkboard sign, and hip sign captured my little millennial heart. I had to know more... was the coffee good? Would this be a good place to get work done, post-COVID? After my errand, I turned right around to check this place out. I wasn't disappointed! I got a masala chai with oat milk--as far as alternative milks go, they have almond and oat, for $0.75 extra. The decor was modern, minimalist, and inviting. I especially like the comfortable look of the outdoor seating. I could imagine taking coffee meetings there (again, post-COVID). The chai was delicious, leading me to believe they've got their coffee game down. I'll be back for more! The staff was semi-standoffish. Not rude, but not super friendly, either. When I came in, I had to stand at the register, waiting... even though the 2-3 employees all saw me walk in. There's definitely a baseline of service at being greeted when you walk in, even if it's only to say "we'll be with you in a minute." I'll definitely be returning. There is a dearth of good coffee spots in Springfield, especially those with great coffee and inviting seating areas; so, this place has that going for it! read more

I'm visiting from California and hadn't had a good cup of coffee since I've arrived in Massachusetts. But this place just hit the spot with everything! 1) Really REALLY Good COFFEE! I'm usually the type of person who drinks coffee black (so I can tell right away if it's good or bad coffee) and this coffee was great! Their house coffee by itself was good, but their cappuccino was on another level! The milk brings out the natural coffee sweetness so no other sugar is necessary. 2) Great Service! I ordered 4 drinks and they threw in the house coffee for me for free since it was my first time tasting it. Also, the staff who assisted me was super attentive and helpful in my drink selection. Not a complaint but a side note: I did think the smoothie was slightly overpriced ($8 for a smoothie), but with inflation and all, that's to be expected. I would definitely come again just for the coffee (which is more than reasonably priced $3-$5). Seriously, if you're in Springfield or headed to the NBA Hall of Fame (like I am), get your coffee fix here! read more

The Greek salad was a fair size and generously topped with feta, kalmatas & more. The dressing has a delightfully zippy flavor. We deducted one star for the house special "The Turk" sandwich, it was beautifully prepared but contained only 6 small pieces of Turkish Pepperoni covered by a thin layer of mozzarella. Ce n'est oas. It is with great regret that I am compelled to post the first honest review. There is a pizza placd in New Haven called Est, Est, Est pizza. Their legend draws on the myth that in Ancient Rome a peon to the a Royalty when in travels would go ahead of the troop to the next villiage to find the best places to eat. When they found them, the establishment would be "chalked" on its side "Est" (for "Is"). In a city desperate to live down its provincial village environs, a decent bakery is a dire need. Unfortunately, this place falls down flat in too many ways. Given the time tested Zagat rating system (1-30; 30= Perfection), here's the gruesome results: Food - 5 Cost - 22 Decor - 15 Service - 9 The Decor / Feng Shui - is acceptable. Neither inviting or foreboding. Ok, that's it The Cost and Food will ultimately bring this place down unless there are dramatic changes. The items are priced at big city prices but quality and portions are substandard. Additionally, the variety is both odd and very limited. For many items the pastries are undersized or non conventionally shaped. I had a baked good that was dry, lacked flavor, was far denser than the typical bakery version and tasted more like day old supermarket stuff. Mine was not worth finishing after two bites (and went to the circular file). C'est dommage. I did not have coffee so perhaps they have terrific cappuccinos. The cost, given the low quality is overpriced. Rolls slightly larger than a dinner roll for $3. Eclairs at half size for $3.50, small tarts for $4.50 are only worth it when they are spectacular. If you're at La Dureé, (NYC), Pierre Hermé (Paris) Domenic Ansel (NYC), or Flour (Boston) sure you should expect those prices. Not Springfield. In fact, if you want a touch of really good baked goods locally I'd suggest Granny's on Bridge St. (Review to come) where you can have fresh made beignets made just for you. Service: Of course service is a fungible thing. It can compliment a good experience, save a poor one or sink one that is flailing. Like the food the service here is sub standard and underwhelming. There's a kind of ignorant arrogant insouciance. A "boy are you lucky to be here". Or "I'll get to you when I'm ready " more a nearly Durgjn Park quality. I went in for coffee this morning and was shocked to see that none of the employees or other customers were wearing masks. The city is currently under a mask mandate and has one of the highest covid rates in the state. I emailed the shop and the owner replied that they're a private property and masks doesn't work.
