We were seated in the main dining room where the manager explained to us that the Brigade is a social enterprise. Meaning, they help to employ and educate members of the homeless community in London so that they can lift themselves out of poverty and enter into the food/bev industry. Great food with a great cause, SIGN ME UP! On to the food - it was VERY good. We ordered two local beers. I loved mine, it was a mead style that wasn't too sweet, but perfect to wash down all the noms. We started with sourdough bread. This was perfectly toasted and paired with butter topped with crystalized salt. YUM. We also had roasted bone marrow and the cornish rump of beef. The bone marrow was good but it was the beef that really blew me away. Brigade uses local London ingredients and this beef was no exception. It was perfectly cooked to rare and I enjoyed every bite. We also got a side of chips, because carbs are life. These chips were SO GOOD. Admittedly, we came to Brigade because we saw a photo on Yelp with fish and chips, which they no longer serve. So happy we ended up here to explore the menu, as a meal filled with carbs and beef is always on my favorites list, and it was no different here. Service was super friendly, and we ended up getting a discount on the bill because they had a promotion going on in November. Double win!
