We were staying in the hotel and though are vacation package included a complimentary dinner from the pre fixe, I would dine again here. Service was great and the food was generous and pleasing. I wish that we weren't limited to the pre fixe as it was a little limited, but we did make the right picks. I went with a leek soup, jadori chicken, and the cheesecake. He got the puff pastry, pasta primavera and rice pudding. The leek soup was a nice light creamy starter. The puff pastry with the poached egg hit the spot with the yolk being perfectly runny and the asparagus was tender. They had a great selection of breads and butters with salts. My chicken had a delightful mix of herbs, crisped skin and was juicy. It was accompanied by vine ripened tomatoes and buttery mashed potatoes. He enjoyed his pasta as well. The cheesecake was huge and yes I was already getting stuffed but decided to pull through. The cheesecake was served with ice cream, some toffee crumbles and a hardened toffee slice. It was delicious though could have used a berry sauce or some sauce to balance out all the cream cheese. The rice pudding is something we never had but it worked. It's still rice, so I think psychologically you needed to get over that, but it wasn't overly rich and served with nuts. To top it off, they gave us an assortment of four chocolates which we ended up getting a box for as we were stuffed. Great service and very pleasing food. Hotel food can be delicious as Blue Door proves to be. 4.5 stars.

What a lovely bistro inside The Montague. Met friends here for a birthday dinner. I like the decor. It's a balance of old and new and they get it right for the most part. There are a few areas to the bistro. Inside dining room, bar/lounge, conservatory both an inside and out... So, plenty of space for everyone. The greeting was pleasant and professional. Service was efficient, helpful, friendly and well timed. We opted for the fish and chips because we wanted to see if it was price appropriate. It was very good albeit a bit pricey. The mushy peas were not seasoned at all but the fish was cooked really well, moist, lightly battered and the chips were a good match! The bread and butter starter was a bit flat. The focaccia didn't taste of anything. It was also a bit tough. The different salts were nice with the butter though. I didn't have dessert but tried a little of my friend's cheesecake and it was also tasty. This is a nice bistro with lovely service and you'd enjoy spending some time here.

A wonderful experience in a little out of the way hotel. We were a party of 8 wanting to dine at 6:30 and using OpenTable UK Blue Door came up. Yelpers seemed to like this place so we gave it a try. Everyone enjoyed the gravlax appetizer and the onions soup was wonderful too. The only disappointment served was the burger. Amazing service we felt so pampered. Ambience valor. Highly recommend especially for a large group.

My husband and I ate here because a meal was included with our hotel stay, and I am glad that we made it! We both had the three course meal. All of the courses were wonderful, with generous portions, perfectly cooked vegetables and tender meat. Beautiful presentation, perfectly seasoned food, wonderful service. We will definitely be coming back!!

Great ambiance coupled with excellent food and exceptional service. The sautéed spinach and prawns were delicious as was the cheesecake. Also provide an award winning tea time.

The Blue Door Bistro is the restaurant attached the Montague on the Gardens hotel. It is a fantastic hotel and the service is impeccable. This restaurant was also very strong in their service and in their product offerings. I had the seared sea bass and potato gnocchi and it was fabulous. The gnocchi was like little potato pillows of heaven. They were cooked perfectly. The fish too was cooked well and wasn't over seasoned. I could enjoy the natural flavor of the fish. I also really enjoyed how they offered the bread at the table. You could butter it and then use 3 different salts to salt the butter. It was a nice twist on a standard appetizer. I enjoyed my meal at the Blue Door Bistro very much & will return if I have the chance.

Pretty good for a hotel restaurant. Good staff. Good for quiet meals. Menu changes frequently.

The basement has a bar, lounge and restaurant. It was a little noisy. But we could still talk. The roasted scallops were cooked perfectly. The green sauce was tasty. I love the presentation. The Bill Marrow was also good. It was very rich. There were two kinds of Sunday roast a sirloin and a rump. Three of us had the rump roast dinner and three had the sirloin roast dinner. It was hard to tell the difference. All the dinners came with roasted potatoes greens and of course, Yorkshire pudding. It was all delicious. I have to say my favorite part is always the Yorkshire pudding. I also have a green salad, which is basically just lettuce with a light dressing. It was very fresh. We were too full for dessert. The service was excellent. We were seated right away and given water. In the UK, you can order sparkling, still or tap. Sparkling and still come with a charge. Tap is usually free. Our server was attentive without hovering. It's a good idea to make reservations at Hawksmoor especially for the Sunday roast. We got there at three by the time we left around 4:30 some of the roasts were already sold out. Just a note: Sunday roost is usually a late lunch not a dinner. It's good to go between two and four especially if you don't have a reservation.

Simply look for The Pie Shop sign and pick your pie which is served with silky smooth mashed potatoes and lashings of rich gravy. Every time I eat a pie this place is my benchmark for the best pies ever! The  menu at Battersea Pie Station includes classics like steak and stout, minced beef and onion and chicken and mushroom, plus more creative, veggie options including butternut squash and goat's cheese. The steak and stout is my ultimate favorite! This place is my go to pie place every time I'm in London. I always try to stay in Covent Garden just so I can come here. This is my basis of the perfect meat pie with the pleasingly firm crusts and sides of mash and roasted potatoes are so delicious. The rich red-wine gravy comes separately in a small jug. I smother the pie with the gravy. Ingredient quality was excellent. They have mini pies and the regular sized pies. Even for a counter-service place this little cafe is terrific value - and you will be surprised that for Covent Garden you can eat a reasonably priced and uber delicious meal that makes me full the whole day! 5 stars can't wait to come back!

Smooth and moist inside with a buttery flaky outside. Steak & Stout: Same great crust, but with a very distinctive inside, chunks of firm roast and thick gravy where you could actually taste the stout. Probably my favorite pie here. Chicken & Mushroom: A nice variation from beef, but by no means lesser. With it's large chunks and umami gravy, this was like a quick hit fix for when craving a proper chicken pot pie. Mash & Gravy: The mash was smooth and buttery. The gravy was more than plentiful. Kinda lives under the shadow of the delicious pies though. Sticky Toffee Pudding: Good, but not great. The toffee sauce felt a bit too thick and wasn't as warmed as I like it. The sponge cake was alright, but kinda dry, like they just plopped into the toffee sauce puddle. But it did do a good job of soaking up the sauce with a little spoon dexterity.

Got the gravy on the side, didn't think I'd use all of it, before I knew it, it was all gone. And you wouldn't think that the type of mash or type of gravy or type of sausage would matter that much, but they really do all have distinct flavors! I will be mixing mustard into my mashed potatoes from now on. Originally came for the sticky toffee pudding, so of course we ended with that. Marvelous! The toffee sauce is so comforting and rich, the cake was so moist, and it was perfectly balanced with the ice cream. Didn't detect any dates, maybe they were too finely chopped. Also the apple and blackberry crumble just didn't hit the same; it was slightly dry and on the sour side (maybe don't take a bite directly after the pudding!) Service was so helpful and friendly; I'm sure they love watching people fall in love with their food. Quick with refills and offered extra condiments if needed. Great air conditioning as well (always a plus), and I loved the green blacksplash and blackboard caligraphy on the walls as well. Bangin'
