Like many, I lost a beautiful Palo Verde tree in the recent monsoon storm. Having an "I can do…read moreanything" mentality I cut the tree into pieces and hauled it away myself, but when it came to removing the root base left behind, I had met my match. I spent hours trying to saw and cut through the roots myself but made very little progress and knew it was time to call in a professional. I submitted a project quote request through Yelp with photos and Frankie was quick to respond with a phone call to gather more details. His estimate was reasonable and he scheduled to start the work the very next day. When he arrived, he soon realized what a beast he was up against and rather than spend hours longer making little progress as I did, he left to get the right tool for the job. He returned and had the root base removed and my new tree planted in no time. He was mindful of my existing plants when maneuvering equipment and cleaned everything up good as new before leaving. He was communicative, letting me know when he would arrive, when he was on his way, answering questions, etc. Payment was easy, even offering a PayPal option and there were no changes to the invoice between the initial estimate and the completed work.

Some…read morebackground: On 3/23/24 Francisco "Frankie" Florez (Tucson A1 Landscaping & Design LLC) was paid $600 in advance to remove weeds from the front/sides/back of our property on that day. He insisted on being paid in advance, spend undue time setting-up a Venmo acct, yet only showed up with half the crew promised and left without any notice in under two hours with plenty of sunshine left with less than 10% of the yard even completed. Having to track him down and with no excuse as to why they left, he said they'd be at our house the next morning to complete the work. The next day 3/24/24 they did not show, did not call to provide notice that they wouldn't show, and upon over half a dozen unanswered calls and texts to him, when finally tracked down and cornered, blamed it on his team and said would be there the following morning at 8:30 am now instead. On 3/25/24, Florez again still didn't show, didn't provide any notice, and upon more than a dozen calls and texts to again try track down yet again (zero customer service), he said maybe Thursday. We clarified that that was unacceptable as we had clearly told him needed to have the job completed before Thursday when he took the job, that he continued to not show at the scheduled times, ignored our calls and texts, and he kept bumping back dates, even after being paid in advance. He promised he would be there that Wed at 8:30 am. On Wed 3/27/24, once again, Florez and team did not show up, did not provide notice they wouldn't show up, tried to blame it on 'his office' saying he meant next week Wed (untrue) and that his team driver got a DUI days earlier. Why kept making appointments and not showing without word, however, was left unexplained. Having lost all faith in his business and word, we asked for a refund and he said he would promptly do so immediately on PayPay (even though he was paid on Venmo originally, but had our PayPal info from initial payment). However, he was untruthful, he never did provide the refund, and upon over a dozen more calls and texts yet again that he ignored, he asked for "more time", saying he was "working on getting payment together". Given that we had paid him in cash in advance, we demanded a refund or our cash, and he has since gone dark on us. In short, he took our money, didn't provide services, snuck off at first chance, and never returned, and has made no effort to provide services nor provide a refund. We demand a full refund of $600 immediately. Tucson Sheriff Case #240401186 has been filed for FRAUD against Francisco Florez.
