    Veal cutlet meal
    Gene T.

Staff was nice. Reasonably clean. Nothing fancy. Family style. Not cheap. Ordered veal cutlet with creamy mushroom soup, baked potato and veggies. Creamy mushroom soup was basically an over thickened (could taste some flour chunks) chicken stock with mushrooms added. Salty! Potato and veggies came out cold. Cutlet...came in two thin pieces with gravy on top. One piece was nice. The other was tough and way over cooked. So....they brought new veggies and a hot baked potato. The second cup of coffee was hot. At the end they knocked off $7 on the bill since both of us ordered the exact same thing and had the exact same problem.

We ordered the chicken "souvlaki platter" and the "signature burger." The souvlaki platter came with 4 pieces of stale factory-made pitta bread. The chicken was burnt, dry, and lacked any sort of flavour. The greek salad we ordered with it wasn't even greek salad-- just limp lettuce sprinkled with olives and tomato. My burger was wet. I don't know how else to describe it-- it was dripping when I picked it up. Also, the burger contained an entire chunk of onion(?). The burger itself had flavour, but the texture was honestly disgusting after I bit into it and the entire thing was *dripping.* I wouldn't really care about any of this if I had ordered from a fast food restaurant, but this costed close to $40. I thought Socrates was one of the "fine dining" restaurants in St. Albert, but I was wrong lol. I'm pretty shocked with the horrible quality of the food and I'd definitely encourage people to eat anywhere else. There was no care put into the meal, so yeah i'm pretty disappointed :/

I've been meeting my parents at this restaurant for several years now. It is the brunch hot spot in St. Albert. Every Sunday morning and early afternoon there's a lineup of people eager to eat and socialize. The line may look daunting but the staff are very efficient. Pretty much anything you order on the brunch menu is really good. They also have specials which are worth checking out. I've eaten here for dinner, too and the food is great. They boast the best prime rib in town. The staff are very friendly and efficient. They keep the coffee flowing during brunch.

3 egg 3 meet. Aka. Truckers breakfast.

If you are looking for fast service don't eat here. The food is good and reasonably priced but it took 10 min to get our order placed.

Love at first bite! I tell ya, nothing makes me happier than a top notch mom & pop joint…read more We popped into Amore Pizza tonight for the first time to pick up supper after a fun filled afternoon at the Woodlands splash park. Amore Pizza replaced Grandin Pizza and opened its doors 3 weeks ago. Lawrence, the owner, and his wife are longtime St. Albertans familiar with the neighborhood. They were both super friendly and personable. We decided to pop home during the 30 minute wait but could have easily stayed and chatted more. We decided to bring home a super Donair with cheese (deseeded fresh jalapeños, homemade Donair sauce, and house prepped meat), an XL pepperoni & pineapple, and an XL feta kalamata pizza. The restaurant is small - a delivery and to go kind of place. They've made it their own with fresh paint and an homage to Uncle Dean if you catch my drift ;-) The deets: The Donair was superb and very fresh tasting. In fact all their food was very fresh tasting. Nothing was drenched in sauce. It's like they but quality ingredients and want each flavour to stand out on it's own. I had requested jalapeños or hot sauce and was pleasant surprised to find fresh and deseeded jalapeños in the Donair - yum! The pizza also had a rather indescribable way of tasting super fresh! The pepperoni was quality and the kalamata olives were a plenty! The crust was chewy goodness cooked to perfection. The tomato sauce tasted clean and fresh. This definitely is not a place with loads of seasoning and spice - just clean and fresh goodness. My only suggestion would be to do a little something to the crust to give it some pizazz. Maybe brush with a garlic oil? Not quite sure, just found that I was wishing the crust had a little kick. Also, there was a surprise Greek salad with our meal. Our family was impressed at the amount of toppings throughout the salad and the lightness to it. Again, each individual flavour stood out! The house Greek dressing was smooth and gentle contrasted against the sharp red onions, feta, red peppers, cucumbers, and kalamata olives. If I were allowed to do 4.5 stars I would because I just need the crust to have a little something extra but Lawrence and his Mrs. Definitely bring it up to a 5 star review! They offer 10% off for pick up, free delivery over $20, and pizza by the dulce at lunch time. Prices were perfect for a meal to bring home (just shy of $40) with plenty of leftovers for the kiddos' lunches tomorrow! We will DEFINITELY be back!

Several of the country's major pizza chains…read morehave gotten their start here and you don't have to look very far to find your preferred style of pie. We've got it all! From traditional wood-fired Neapolitan to prairie-style pies to rectangular-shaped Detroit. There's a very good chance that no matter where you live in the city that there's bound to be a pizza place nearby that everyone loves. One of those spots is Pizza Garage in St. Albert. Named Favourite Take-Out on the Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2024 list, I had to find out what all of the hype is about and make the drive up to St. Albert myself! Pizza Garage prides itself on not being fast food. They believe that each pizza is a living, breathing piece of art that should be made with only the best ingredients. And they don't focus on just one style, either. Pizza Garage is skilled at creating Detroit style, Chicago bar pie style, and New York style, giving them the ability to satisfy your pizza craving no matter your pie preference. I visited on a Saturday evening ready to PIZZA! The shop is located in an unassuming strip mall in a quiet neighbourhood called Forest Lawn. It's a small location that doesn't look like a whole lot from the outside. Inside is more of the same; the space contains a take-out counter and not much else. However, there is a counter with some bar stools if you're looking to dine in (and I always am). We were greeted by Shane Oates, the restaurant's founder, and ended up having a lovely chat with him. Originally from Windsor, Ontario (home of its own signature pizza style!), Shane wanted to bring the Italian-owned, independent pizza experience to the Edmonton area. Not a big chain, no cheap ingredients. His menu is large but each and every pizza is thoughtfully created with ingredient wastage in mind. Beyond the list of 35(!!) different pizzas, Pizza Garage also serves calzones, sandwiches, pasta, and even desserts. There's actually a lot to choose from for such a little shop! First lets talk about the styles of pizza on offer. Each Pizza Garage pie can be made in your choice of style and it helps to know the difference. First there's Detroit Style, which has really risen to fame within the last decade. This pizza is known for its rectangular shape, a thick dough with a caramelized cheese crust, edge-to-edge toppings, and is often made with the sauce on top. Next is New York Style, which is mainly what North American pizza has become today. This pizza is crispy yet pliable enough to be folded. Finally there's Chicago Bar Pie Style, which is different from the Chicago deep dish that you might first imagine. Alternatively, this pizza is ultra thin, has a crispy pan-fried crust, and also features edge-to-edge toppings. No matter what type of pizza you might be in the mood for, Pizza Garage has got you covered! I also enjoyed that many of the pizzas on offer are named after various cars - they are a garage, after all. Pizza Garage has a really fun "exotic drinks" cooler and it's worth checking it out! Forget about boring cokes and sprites because here you'll find cans of drinks that you've never even heard of before! They've got a bunch of beverages from Calypso, Chubby, and Faygo - and all sorts of other things! It's a lot of fun to select a really unique beverage to try and I went with an Electric Blue Razz Crush Back to the 80s. I didn't know what most of that meant but it sounded awesome. How fun indeed! This can of carbonation totally had that blue raspberry flavour that we grew up with as kids. I still don't know why raspberry got assigned the colour blue but I suppose it's because red was already taken by too many other flavours. 35 pizzas is a lot to choose from and many of them caught my eye. They've got the awareness to know that a donair pizza (two types!) is a must - it's Edmonton after all and everyone has the donair crazies. There's a buffalo chicken pizza, which always speaks to me. And the Via 313 will be a must on my next visit with its pepperoni on roni on roni situation! However, the pizza that I wanted to try the most was La Ferrari (Cheese, sauce, pepperoni, spicy Italian sausage, hot calabrese, salumi, hot Calabrian peppers, kalamata olives, piped ricotta cheese - $35.75 for medium Detroit Style). Once ordered, the pizza took about 20 minutes to be prepared because they are creating these masterpieces from complete scratch. This award-winning pizza is positively covered in incredible ingredients and I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into it! First of all, I absolutely loved the crust. The sides and bottom were so beautifully crisp and caramelized while still preserving a glorious interior chew. The crunchy fried cheese edge was elite. The toppings on this pizza felt luxurious and decidedly Italian without being too heavy. I absolutely loved the various meats and the spicy kick. The cheese was sooo cheesy. The kalamata olives took the flavour profile to a wh

It is easy for my kiddo to eat and I love how crispy the bottom becomes, but the inside is soft and chewy. My husband also enjoys how much meat is spread on there. I got the BBQ chicken pizza which was fine, but a little sweet for me. Next time I will choose something spicier. Service was okay. I can't say they were friendly. But they weren't awful. And they can make a pizza. This is something they can improve upon. We didn't realize that when we got there that there was only bar seating. My daughter is disabled so that doesn't work for us. Nor does it work if you are trying to hang out as a family. We had to go find a place in a park. Thankfully it was nice outside. I will go again if my husband wants it. No doubt about it for Detriot style pizza this is excellent. However everything else is lacking
