I came to Original Joe's in downtown Edmonton recently and got the Chicken Burger. The burger was decent. What was a small surprise was the quality of yam fries so I'd give it 7.8/10.

Original Joe's is back open with new social distancing and hygiene measures in place. Before entering the restaurant you wait in a designated area that is well marked as to how far apart to stand. You are then escorted to your table past a hand sanitizer dispenser. The tables are set up such that you are 2m away from the nearest party. There are arrows in the floor indicating which path to take to the restroom and exit, to ensure one way traffic. The exit is via a separate door than the entrance now. Menus are now found online, easily accessible via the barcode scan on your phone using your camera. If you don't have a smart phone physical menus are provided. Salt and pepper is provided via individually wrapped packages. Plates are placed on a designated spot on the table and you pick up your plate and move it in front of you. All the staff wear masks and when they pick up your plates and utensils at the end of the meal they wear gloves. Phew! That was a lot! That said, it was a seamless experience and not anymore time consuming than pre pandemic. So, on to the regular stuff! They have a nice patio, their food is consistent, portions are generous (many plates come with two sides) and service is good. Best of all, no kids allowed!

This wasn't a bad experience, just sort of average. The service was okay. I will say that ALL the servers are friendly, and greet you with a smile no matter if they're your server or not. The place has a very good vibe, like everybody is happy working there. I guess my issue is with the menu. Prices are a little high for ordinary bar eats...Their idea of dressing them up seems to be adding various kinds of peppers in half the items. Which is great if you like red peppers, jalapenos, habeneros, banana peppers, etc. I had the stunningly beautiful Pacific Rim bowl, with noodles, chicken, shrimp, fresh veggies and red peppers. It was nice, and a pretty big portion, but it tasted mostly of the red peppers. Hubby had the Double dog with mashed potatos and caeser salad. The told me it was average, sloppy and filling. He feels it could have been deconstructed a bit, that the dogs should have been separated. He wasn't that fond of the banana peppers because they were pickled. Maybe it's just us. I'd probably come back for drinks, but not the food. To each their own peppers, I guess.

This is my favourite OJs by far! I can always find a spot here even on Friday and Saturday nights. The place is clean and trendy. They always have a variety of games playing too. I can catch football and hockey in the same place which is cool. Servers are always happy to change the channel if it isn't too busy to show different games. I come here quite often because I like the atmosphere and service. Half priced bottles of vino on Thursday (Thank God). Two of my favourite dishes are the butter chicken and the jambalaya! They're both yummy and come with naan or garlic bread. For appys I like the bruschetta. The only thing I don't really like is how dark it gets in the evening. It's SO dark. I'm half blind and I need someone to read the menu to me.

I went here again and ordered the butter chicken and I have to say... it is sooo good. Which is odd because I never expected that from a bar-type restaurant that wasn't Indian owned or anything. Usually when I get nan bread I end up never eating it at other places, but the nan bread I got from here was so good I almost asked for more. Seriously, try it.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Edmonton, I love the style/decor of the restaurant & bar. I ordered the queso fundido for starters to share with husband and myself, this was an amazing choice the flavours where outstanding! For main I ordered the chipotle chicken quesadilla which tasted delicious, my husband ordered the fish tacos and would highly recommend them. During the summer this location has a great patio area where you can enjoy some delicious cocktails. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone, it's a shame kids aren't allowed.

Cajun cheddar chicken burger! To die for!!

Delicious cuisine, abundant drink selection, and friendly service, that's what makes original joe's on high street such a great stop even though it's right by all the construction on the 102nd bridge!! Original Joe's always has great food and their burgers/sandwiches come with two sides dishes meaning you'll probably leave feeling happy and full! I haven't had a bad thing here yet and I don't expect I will anytime soon! Try their Cajun chicken cheddar cheese burger! Plus their sweet potato fries are awesome!! In addition to their awesome food, they always have great special for drinks. Half off wine on Wednesday or Thursday, 5 dollar bottles on Sunday's, I could go on and on but you're probably better off checking out their website! Whatever they're doing in the kitchen, it definitely follows suit at the bar! They have a great selection of beers (bottled and on tap) and their cocktails are always perfectly made! No watered down highballs here! The friendly service just makes the experience even better. You enter and seat yourself but the server usually comes right over and the food and drinks come pretty fast. They have great decor inside with a cute vintage feel and their patio is perfect to catch some sun! I'll come back here over and over again!

Great food for vegetarian options and very accommodating. I had a great lunch and would recommend. For a chain this is very good quality.

I ordered the french toast meal which came with 3 pieces of french toast, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 sausages. The sausages were pretty good but the rest of the meal was mediocre and what you would expect from a place like this. Overall I'd rate the meal 6/10. I decided on the Warm Mushroom Salad which contained a Mushroom Medley, with a Shallot, Rose Water, & Elderflower Liqueur Vinaigrette and the Spicy Rigatoni with Habanero Rose Sauce. My husband went with Braised Chuck Flatserved on fresh grits, glazed in demi. Cocktails were carefully crafted and the food came out in a timely manner. Food was excellent. The mushroom salad was full of flavour and cooked properly. The spicy rigatoini was excellent with just enough heat from the habanero sauce. However, the real start was the braised chuck which melted with a tap of the fork. The grits were well cooked and a good accompaniment. We were stuffed but I would like to try thier desserts in the future. Cocktail prices were high but in the same price range as other fancy cocktail bars. The food prices were the same as many other places but with higher quality. Definately try this place out. I am looking forward to my next visit.

As is my usual choice when faced with not-much-choice I selected their "famous" chicken fingers and to my own shock, I was pleasantly surprised. Sure it's not haute cuisine, but in a pinch it will do. First, I was given a choice between fries or a ceasar salad (lettuce was a little old, but the Parmesan cheese was fresh and it wasn't overly loaded with dressing). Second, a choice between a honey bbq, plum and buffalo dip (go with plum). Third, the chicken fingers were GOOD! The chicken was moist. The breading was dry without a hint of oil. I'm pretty certain these lil breasts never saw the deep end of the deep fryer! And for that they get my nod. But I think what really made me appreciate Jasper was the service. The servers were so helpful! I was taken aback when they helped the lady next to me with her bags. There's a "no baggage cart" rule for diners, and so, when said customer was ready to leave, the server went outside and brought in her cart.
