When I moved away from my last dentist I thought it's not possible to be better than that. I was wrong. Dr Silberman is top notch. I think he has higher standards for my teeth than I do. Also love my hygienist. The office is very well organized. Never had any issues with appointments, wait time, payment or insurance. Front desk staff Sue and Vernita are always so patient and helpful. It's fun to see the various technologies they use. As someone who went off track with Invisalign treatment multiple times due to my neglect, I got to discover their judgment-free mentality and I'm such a big fan. I transferred to Evanston Family Dental Associates from another Evanston dentist. I initially went in for a second opinion. I was greeted in a very friendly manner and given all pricing upfront. Yesterday I went in for my first six month appointment with them. I can say I've never had such a thorough cleaning! I initially saw Dr. Bacalar for a second opinion. He took his time in explaining what his opinion was and why. Yesterday I saw Dr. Curry. She also was patient and thorough. This will definitely be where I will have all dental work completed. Since I don't have dental insurance and pay out-of-pocket, I'm very picky and I highly recommend Evanston Family Dental Associates. read more

As an internal medicine physician who has gone through several dentists while moving around the country, I can honestly say that Dr. Silberman is the most conscientious, dedicated professional in dentistry that I've come across. Twice I've broken my teeth and he has never settled for less than absolute perfection--he'll never hurry you out of the office in order to see the next patient; he's almost like an artist in that regard--he doesn't want anyone to see inferior work with his name on it, so to speak. I could not be happier after I left their office. I was in the market for a new dentist and after looking at reviews on Yelp and proximity to my place of work I came to see Dr. Silberman. The friendliness stems from Dr. Silberman and trickles down to all the staff members who work at the office. They are willing to work with you and are transparent with their charges and what the plan of action is. When I first went to Dr. Silberman, he did a comprehensive exam and afterward spent a significant amount of time showing me my teeth and the type of work he recommended. We then decided on a path moving forward and he was very professional. Their prices a little higher than I am used to, but they are more than worth it for the service they provide. I first went to Dr. Silberman as a Northwestern undergrad when I had a bizarre, and apparently causeless, tooth infection. I can't be enthusiastic enough about the way he and his staff treated (and still treat) me. He is really passionate about what he does, and manages to be honest and kind in explaining what he's doing to your mouth and why. Dr. Silberman saved my wedding! Long story short, I had gone to another dentist for two veneers shortly before my wedding, and it turned out being a nightmare (poor placement, color, shape, inflamed gums, etc.). Dr. Silberman took me in for an emergency visit the next day, which also happened to be the week of my wedding. I noticed when I entered the office, it was clean, pleasant, and every staff member with whom I came in contact was so kind and comforting. Dr. Silberman was able to analyze my case, and he worked meticulously with bonding to rebuild two of my teeth until he and I felt the results were perfect. He was able to match the color and shape of my teeth with no pain, and I healed up within a day or two. I was able to feel confident smiling big on my wedding day thanks to his dedication to perfection. Just had my semi-annual cleaning done. What a reassuring COVID-19 protocol they have! They have thoroughly thought out every step of the visit to minimize any possible exposure. I am deathly afraid of the dentist. I mean, I would rather lick the floor of a CTA train rather than go to the dentist, that's how much I hate it. The sounds, the pulling, the drill... For years people have been recommending this guy to me. I finally went to see Dr. Silberman. He and his staff are extraordinarily patient, accommodating, and gentle, and the experience is always PAINLESS. They explain everything that they are doing. I used to feel exhausted after the dentist, as though I had just been in combat. No more. I am no longer a dentist-phobe. I don't even mind getting shot with Novocaine, because the needles that are used are so tiny its just a barely felt prick. Who likes to go to the dentist? I know, I don't--but Dr. Silberman's practice is as good as it gets. I was lucky to find Dr. Sliberman when my own dentist moved out of state. Dr. Silberman has a kind, and gentle manner--seasoned with a large dash of humor. His technical skills are top notch, as is his chair-side manner. He doesn't push additional services, and keeps a watchful eye on suspicious teeth, rather than jumping in to work on them. I've also had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Turok in action, when I accompanied a friend with dental phobia to a long overdue checkup. He was so kind and non-judgmental to my friend. I also brought my 90 year old mother to Dr. Silberman, when she had some issues. He found a loose tooth that her own dentist had somehow 'overlooked' just weeks before. Dr. S treated Mom like she was his own mother. Lastly, the support staff makes you feel like you're with friends. My hygienist of choice, Jennifer, is a doll and she really makes your teeth gleam. Beata and the other assistants are sweet and warm. Sue runs the front office with friendly efficiency. I have lived in many places and therefore have gone to many dentists. Dr. Silberman is, by a mile, the best I've ever had. Dr. Silberman embodies the qualities that we *hope* our dentist has, but that not many do: competence, humility, and kindness. And these qualities have remained in the several years I have been his patient. He is a terrific problem-solver who is not beneath taking on a hygienist's task on the rare occasion that he is short-staffed. As others have remarked, he gives thoughtful consideration about when to intervene and when to watch. As a person with a "complicated dental situation," his clear fascination (one might say nerdiness -- in the most complimentary way) with the mouth and jaw is somehow a comforting sign that he is not jaded or phoning it in. I can't say enough about how incredible this practice is starting with Sue all they way to Dr. Silberman. My son is a Northwestern freshman student and he had a bonded tooth that broke. We live 600 miles away so all I could do was make a few phone calls . Not knowing many docs in the Evanston area we were recommended to use Dr. Silberman. His entire staff was so kind and took the best care of my son. They were so patient with helping him with the paperwork process and took special care with making him feel comfortable during the tooth procedure. I normally don't write reviews but I've now been to see Dr. Silberman 3 times and each time I've been so impressed. I've had lots of dental work in the past, and so far, Dr. Silberman's office is the best that I've seen. I was referred by a friend who had extensive cosmetic work done, and I couldn't even tell. My first meeting with him lasted about 11/2 hours. He was so thorough and the examination was actually interesting.
