When I moved away from my last dentist I thought it's not possible to be better than that. I was wrong. Dr Silberman is top notch. I think he has higher standards for my teeth than I do. I transferred to Evanston Family Dental Associates from another Evanston dentist. I initially went in for a second opinion. I was greeted in a very friendly manner and given all pricing upfront. Yesterday I went in for my first six month appointment with them. I can say I've never had such a thorough cleaning! I initially saw Dr. Bacalar for a second opinion. He took his time in explaining what his opinion was and why. Yesterday I saw Dr. Curry. She also was patient and thorough. This will definitely be where I will have all dental work completed. I first went to Dr. Silberman as a Northwestern undergrad when I had a bizarre, and apparently causeless, tooth infection. Dr. Silberman saved my wedding! Long story short, I had gone to another dentist for two veneers shortly before my wedding, and it turned out being a nightmare (poor placement, color, shape, inflamed gums, etc.). Dr. Silberman took me in for an emergency visit the next day, which also happened to be the week of my wedding. I noticed when I entered the office, it was clean, pleasant, and every staff member with whom I came in contact was so kind and comforting. Dr. Silberman was able to analyze my case, and he worked meticulously with bonding to rebuild two of my teeth until he and I felt the results were perfect. Who likes to go to the dentist? I know, I don't--but Dr. Silberman's practice is as good as it gets. I was lucky to find Dr. Sliberman when my own dentist moved out of state. Dr. Silberman has a kind, and gentle manner--seasoned with a large dash of humor. His technical skills are top notch, as is his chair-side manner. He doesn't push additional services, and keeps a watchful eye on suspicious teeth, rather than jumping in to work on them. I've also had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Turok in action, when I accompanied a friend with dental phobia to a long overdue checkup. He was so kind and non-judgmental to my friend. I have lived in many places and therefore have gone to many dentists. Dr. Silberman is, by a mile, the best I've ever had. Dr. Silberman embodies the qualities that we *hope* our dentist has, but that not many do: competence, humility, and kindness. And these qualities have remained in the several years I have been his patient. He is a terrific problem-solver who is not beneath taking on a hygienist's task on the rare occasion that he is short-staffed. As others have remarked, he gives thoughtful consideration about when to intervene and when to watch.
