I had an emergency with my bunny. Although they are not bunny experts and do not claim to be the staff took great care and research on my bunny's condition until they were sure of her diagnosis. I'm very grateful they tried and did care for Deanie. I was recommend this clinic. I was turned away from 2 other clinics saying they didn't have time for my emergency. I love Soehnlen Vet clinic. They are caring and knowledgeable. Importantly, they are trust-worthy. They will not order expensive tests and procedures just to make a buck. They do have three different vets; the care is not always consistent, and you may not see the same vet each time. They do make last minute appointments available for emergencies, but be aware that you may be waiting a long time - the first time I waited 2 1/2 hours, and I was unaware that I would be waiting that long. Also, they don't have cell service or internet service, so the wait feels even longer. So, bring a book, bring work, bring a pillow and blanket and take a nap - you will need something to pass the time, even with a regular appointment. read more

My experience... Just like most people, I figured that these vets would know what they were talking about because they're licensed and had experience. Plus, it was a nicely reviewed company. So, why not? Well, my Missy was getting older, but was still a bouncy, fun dog. Unfortunately , she had a very large outward hernia that I wanted removed from her. They said there's nothing they could do about it. Right after, they started telling me the amount they would charge for that to be done like they couldn't wait to have it. So, I flat-out told that I'm not rich, but I would make payments because I didn't have the thousands of dollars right then and there. Yeah, thousands. I even offered to give them my SSN, banking info, and whatever else they would want. Well, the cranky woman at the desk mostly told me that I'd have to have the cash right then and there because they didn't do any type of payment plans. These people actually had the nerve to tell me, "Just let her go and be done with it." The vet said it just like that, as if she was an old, dirty rag. They had no sympathy at all! Since her energy was getting worse with that thing being on her and because she was older, I got myself to agree to have that done. Plus, my dad was there to help me with the whole thing. The one vet guy told me to just do it because I didn't have money for anything else. Then, these people acted like I was a weirdo because I wanted to have a moment with her before I had her put down. All I wanted was to say things that any pet parent would want to say. Nope, I had to talk my way into getting that time. Then, they offered me a trash bag to put her in! These idiots were ridiculous, rude, and very unkind! Of course, I never returned to this place and I would not recommend it. read more

I do not recommend this vet clinic if you have a cat. We took our 7 year old cat in twice for over grooming to the point of balding. The first time the doctors suggested maybe allergies, and gave her a shot that they said could make her diabetic. When that didn't help they said it's wasn't a big deal and to try to change things to see if it was an allergy. We tried changing food, litters, then tried a bitter spray, all with no avail. Since the vet told us to not worry about it, we trusted their professional opinion. Then things got worse. We took her in again as she was now starting to break skin. That is NOT normal. The Vets here basically shrugged their shoulders and said "I don't know" with no other offers of help or suggestions. This was one of two $100 visits this year -- way too expensive to not get a diagnosis. We called my hometown vet in Medina and they instantly had a few suspicions of what my cat might be suffering from with what we told them over the phone. I asked Soehlen to send me my cat's medical records as we were getting the secondary opinion. I was able to get a specific diagnosis and treatment plan for my cat at the Medina Veterinary Clinic, and after a year of struggle with Soehlen telling us it's wasn't a big deal, all for under $60. I'm so happy to finally be able to improve my cat's quality of life. Dr. Parker said it was an easy diagnosis of what is essentially Trichotillomania for cats (I cannot remember the exact term at this time) in which the cat displays their anxiety via over grooming. Dr. Parker expressed their surprise on how this diagnosis wasn't made before as there has been many articles and books published about cats and anxiety. Today, October 10th, 2020, I received a letter from Soehlen Veterinary Clinic stating that as of October 7th that they will no longer be working with me -- which is fine with me as I no longer want to visit that clinic for my cats' care. I found the letter to be petty and unprofessional. I called them to receive my medical records for all 3 cats so that I can transfer their care to the Medina Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Parker, and they called me back within 10 minutes. I wish they would have included my cats' medical records with this letter to make it easier on both of us, but am glad that I did get them so quickly upon request. The only reason I went to Soehlen is because they are less than 5 minutes from our house. The Medina Veterinary Clinic is about an hour's drive for us, and totally worth it. Other thing to note: When I posted the letter on my Facebook, my friends also started chiming in with their stories from this clinic from questionable handling of a cat to make the cat attack (when the very next day my friend took their cat to another vet with zero issues of aggression/violence) to almost killing another friend's mother's dog when the dog had parvo because they sent the dog home with only IV fluids (this example's review was taken down "for being liable"). read more

I have been going to Dr. Dave for over 25 years. He's always been there for the good times and the bad times. I have his cell number to call any time in an emergency and he WILL get back to you asap. Recently, 1 of my Yorkies was very sick and crying so I text him at 5:45 AM and sure enough he text back and from what I was telling him, he knew she needed to be seen right away. So, he says, How soon can you get here and we meet at the office right after 6 AM. My baby ended up passing away BUT NOT due to anything anyone there did. It was God's will. She had bladder stones and a liver shunt so she was not in a good way. To say the doctors don't care and/or are there for anyone and their pets is a misrepresentation. Cause this is only 1 of the times I have needed them and they were right there for us. We love all you guys there and would never take my babies anywhere else. read more

Last week I had to put my beloved boy to rest. An emergency vet diagnosed him with bone cancer. I brought him to Soehnlen to end his suffering. Dr. Soehnlencame into the room and was able to tell it was cancer by looking at his leg for less than 10 seconds. That impressed me. Their entire staff was wonderful to Max and also to us. They we very caring and respectful. This week in the mail, we received a sympathy with a hand written note in it. It is the little touches that make the difference. read more

I waited 45 minutes in my vehicle for a new patient appointment. No communication from the staff. When a tech did come out she never offered an apology for how behind they were. When it was discussed that the x-rays for my pup had not been received (although I checked and they did) I told the girl to cancel the appointment. Frankly me cancelling might have helped their schedule. I called today to reschedule, sat on hold for 25 minutes to then have the office manager tell me that they "dismissed" me. Unreal. Unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend anyone taking their fur baby to this place. ZERO stars! read more

Callous disrespect and rudeness that I, myself, had never witnessed from a customer service standpoint. Not only did I feel that I was being looked down upon, but felt judgements and opinions were being formed not only by the person helping me but the crowd behind her. By my wife stating from previous visits how rude and uncourteous your office staff was, I had to go and witness this for myself. And all she has told me appeared to be more than 100% accurate. The front desk staff is more than unsympathetic, uncourteous and rude at every visit. By writing this today, I'm not only going to be asking for my dog's medical records, but I will not be furthering my dog's medical care at the Soehnlen veterinary clinic. And I will be contacting BBB and all of my friends and family that have pets to seriously reconsider where they are taking their pets due to the unprofessionalism and rudeness of your front desk staff, in particularly Gari. I cant say enough about this place. I had a super sick 2 year old dog and this place was unbelievable. They were not after money they truly cared about my dog and getting him better. The vet went above and beyond for us. He did everything he could but unfortunately we had to him down. He came in after hours, he gave us a number that we could reach him at all hours, he allowed us to do a payment plan, and he told us his honest opinion about what was going on. " I can try this but I am not confident this is what is causing the symptoms" said the vet. I do not believe he did any unnecessary testing or anything to make more money unlike other vets and especially emergency vets. Our dog died of an unknown reason. The vet ask and did an autopsy no charge and still nothing. I will always recommend this place to my fellow animal owners.
