I was looking forward to getting my nails done from this nail salon because of all the great reviews, however the receptionist Liz was completely rude. She didn't acknowledge me or try to help me schedule an appointment when I arrived. She was on her phone the whole time. The only thing she said to me was that they didn't have time to help me, so I left. I have never had bad customer service like this. I'm sure from the other reviews they would've done an excellent job on my nails, but they need to get a new receptionist who is welcoming. The staff at Sofia Grace are exceptional. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the shop is brightly lit, well-appointed, and clean. From the selection of polishes/dip powders, to the menu of services, Sofia Grace offers a multitude of experiences and styles for your manicure or pedicure. Nene, Christina, Kim, and Joolie are all gentle in their handling of your nails, and are also personable, polite and fun. I would not go anywhere else in Houston for this type of experience. I found this place on Yelp about 6 months ago and this has been my best find EVER! The salon is beautiful and very clean. It is fairly open and large space with many working stations. As soon as you enter, you are always greeted by one or more of their technicians. They are very straightforward and will get you situated immediately. I am a regular now and this spot is my weekend retreat. Misty is an excellent technician and very well informed about all their services. The entire staff really enjoys what they are doing and there is always a positive vibe in the salon. I always come out of here relaxed and happy ANd beautiful nails! Long overdue review...every time I visit Houston I have to go to Sofia Grace to get my nails done. Kim is so precise and detailed in her work. My nails always look perfect and beautiful. I dropped in to Sofia and Grace Thursday afternoon for a dip mani. I called ahead and checked availability, so i was able to be seen upon arrival. Unlike other nail salons, Sofia and grace have the dipping powders on display next to a matching nail polish color as opposed to the sample fake nails. I didn't mind this as I was able to see the color in the corresponding polish bottle, but you can't judge a dip powder in the jar because it appears lighter than when applied. I got Julie as a nail tech, I really enjoyed talking to her and overall felt like she was a solid nail tech: something I did notice is that on a couple of nails, the top coat isn't all the way smooth. I waited for quite some time before leaving to make sure they were dry, so I am not sure what caused this. Additionally; they charged me $5 dollars to take off my dip before reapplying. At most salons, you usually only are charged for dip removal if you do not get dip reapplied, so i thought this was strange. All in all I'd come back to Sofia and Grace, but I'd make sure my nails were completely smooth before leaving. read more

I decided to get my nails done here because they had pretty good reviews and the location was convenient for me. Misty worked on my nails. I asked for dip powder nails in white however there must have been pink in the white powder because she kept building up my nails with powder and then removing it to take out the pink from the powder. Looking at my nails now I can see pink when they were supposed to be white. My nails look extremely fat like there are 10 layers on them because she put so much powder on them. She also didn't clean my nails at all and missed spots when doing the powder. I have two nails that are starting to fall off and I got them done only a few days ago!! I've received way better service at other salons for a less expensive price. I don't recommend coming here unless you want your nail polish to start coming off a few days after getting them done. I also have a cut on my finger from when she was butchering my nails trying to get the pink powder off of them. They shouldn't be mixing powders anyway and if they have a powder that has been contaminated with another color they shouldn't use it on their customers!! read more

I was excited to try out this place because of all the amazing reviews and I was not disappointed. I went during lunch time on a Wednesday, so it was pretty empty with only one other customer. I walked in, picked my color for Shellac, and the nail tech was ready for me! She offered me a drink and I was served red wine. She was very friendly and did an amazing job! This was one week ago and my nails are still perfect with no chips or bubbles. I honestly think this is the best Shellac manicure I have had in a long while. I almost didn't go here today because I read some bad reviews. I asked the staff at Hyatt Regency across the street (where I am staying) for a recommendation for nails and they said Sofia Grace. I told them about the reviews I read, and they said they were under new management, so I took a chance. I was VERY pleased with my service! "Maria" did my nails and I noticed she took her time and was always asking me what I wanted before she did anything. The massage on my hands and arms at the end was a nice touch as well! I learn my lesson every time and my poor nails pay the price. My cuticles are bad usually, but they were destroyed by the last nail place I went! Coming from Kim's today is proof that she does an amazing job! My nails and cuticles already look better, they will take a little more time to be perfect, but knowing my hands are in Kim's hands I know they will be! She takes pride in her work and it shows! I was driving into Houston for a friend's bridal shower and realized that I would be getting in a little early. I decided to look into a quick fix for my awful nails with the little bit of free time that I had. I called Sofia Grace and asked if they might be able to squeeze me in to take my gel polish off and put regular polish on (without a manicure). They were able to get me an appointment in the time frame that I needed. Maria did my nails. She was excellent. She was extremely friendly and relaxed, as was the atmosphere of the salon. She knew that I was in a bit of a time crunch and worked quickly to try to get my nails done in time. She also went above and beyond to try to make my neglected nails look good despite not having a full manicure. She worked very quickly, and my nails looks great! I normally don't bother with regular polish because I am hard on my nails and have literally chipped them while in getting in the car to leave the salon. My nails still look great from Maria's work. No chips or flaws. I am thoroughly impressed. read more
