My favourite gyro in Windsor. And GREAT fries. Haven't had much else there. Generally friendly staff.

Pegasus Taverna in Detroit was such a great find. The rustic Greek decor gives it a really warm,…read moreauthentic vibe, and the ceiling is honestly beautiful--nice touch that makes the place stand out. Service was spot on too, super friendly and attentive without being too much. We went on a Monday evening during the Detroit fireworks, which made it even more fun. Food-wise, the traditional Greek dishes were the highlight. The saganaki was done perfectly, the lamb shank in tomato sauce with rice was rich and comforting, and the gyro was easily one of the best we've had. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and portions. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to try more dishes.

I lived in Astoria for a couple of years, and could walk to some great Greek restaurants. But I've never had anything like this. First, the dolmas were hard and dry. I've always had them quite wet, basically marinated, and these were bone dry. No ground meat was detectable. The taramousalata was just...flavorless pink fluff. It wasn't even salty! And we were served a basket of bread that was probably the highlight of the meal, in that it was actually pretty good bread -- but it wasn't pita! I've never not been served pita bread with mezze dips. They were out of the grilled octopus, but suggested the cold octopus instead?? I'm not sure why, but at least that was also edible. The retsina I was brought not only had an off chemical taste (and I love a good, piney, resin-y retsina), but it tasted very watered down. My friend said his spanakotiropeta was OK, at least, although he agreed with me on the rest, which is a shame, because I LOVE taramousalata, and I was excited for him to try it.

My family and I had to wait over half an hour for drinks. When our food was delivered to the table I had received burnt toast, uncooked eggs and potatoes and so did the rest of my table. I do understand it's busy, but giving people food poisoning is concerning. I would rather my food take longer to cook than have uncooked eggs. Hoping someone had a better experience than my family did as spending $200 on food that I didn't eat was not a great experience. The staff were very polite however, I wish they were more focused on their tables.

We had visited (seemingly under past owners), and I would have given the food maybe 3-4 stars. Interesting combinations of food, decent prices and service. Now I don't want to rip on new owners, but some pretty unacceptable food and drink this last visit. The cream was curdled, luckily due to Covid we were on their 3 table sidewalk patio, so my gf dumped the coffee in a flower planter. Another gentleman sat down and asked if they were trying to trick him, as the sugar in the sugar bowl was rock solid!!! lol Menu had some pretty funny spelling errors, oh well it happens. I had the Spinach Pie Benedict- it was two eggs and hollandaise on top of a piece of spinach pie! Not bad, but the eggs were poached very hard. Gf had the gyro benny, and it was definitely not comparable to the previous visits to Etta's. Fool me once, shame on you! You know how the rest goes...
