There is also a totally professional supportive staff that goes out of its way to ensure the vary best of care. They are knowlegeable, respectful, and thorough in their treatment of the pet owners. I brought Indica to Animal Hospital of Sebastopol because I specifically wanted an experienced reptile veterinarian for a federally threatened species. Before scheduling, I asked how the urgent drop-off process worked and was told I would receive updates during the day regarding the doctor's findings and treatment recommendations. I also asked to make sure the vet felt comfortable treating a rare & valuable species. When I dropped him off, I explained that I work in healthcare as a medical receptionist and cannot answer phone calls while checking in patients. I specifically told the staff I would be available during my lunch break from 12:20-1:20 p.m. and asked that, outside of that window, they leave me a voicemail or send me a text if they needed anything. Instead, I received no communication at all. By around 4:15 p.m., I became worried enough to step away from work while a coworker covered my desk so I could call the hospital. I was placed on hold multiple times, transferred between staff members, and no one could tell me whether my snake had even been seen. My frustration was never that emergency patients came first. I understand triage. My frustration was the complete lack of communication despite being told I would receive updates and despite providing multiple ways to reach me. I was also charged for sexing my snake without anyone telling me beforehand there would be an additional fee. That charge was only removed after I questioned it. When I spoke with Dr. Annabelle, I repeatedly told her that I appreciated her fitting my snake into her schedule and understood emergency patients came first. I was never asking her to stop treating another patient. However, when I expressed concerns about the lack of communication and told her I did not believe this was simply a bad shed, I felt dismissed. The conversation focused on how she sees approximately 15 patients a day, that she couldn't interrupt anesthetized procedures for a stable snake, that this is how urgent drop-off appointments work, and that she texted me "when she could." The problem was that the text wasn't sent until after I had already called the hospital because I was worried and couldn't get answers from anyone. Afterward, I emailed the practice manager. The billing discrepancy was corrected, but I had to follow up separately just to obtain my snake's records. I was then told they felt I should seek another veterinary hospital. As Indica's condition worsened, I emailed Animal Hospital of Sebastopol again asking for medical guidance because Dr. Annabelle was the only veterinarian who had physically examined him. I explained that I had followed the treatment plan exactly and desperately needed to know whether what I was seeing was expected. That email was never answered. I ultimately had to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize Indica. The day after he was gone, UC Davis called asking my permission to send his records to Animal Hospital of Sebastopol because AHOS had requested them. It was devastating to learn they had time to contact another veterinary hospital regarding my snake's case while never responding to my final plea for help. I later received a second opinion from UC Davis, where I was informed that the original diagnosis from Animal Hospital of Sebastopol was not the correct diagnosis, just as I had predicted. Based on my experience, I would never trust Animal Hospital of Sebastopol with another exotic animal. If you own an exotic pet and your instincts tell you something isn't right, don't be afraid to seek a second opinion. I only wish I had done so sooner.

I love Sebastopol, the office is so cozy with trees all around it, a very peaceful pleasant setting. Right off the main road with a plentiful parking lot. The office was on the smaller side but not crowded at all. Most importantly the staff was great all very warm and friendly to my dog and me. Seemed knowledgeable, I really wouldn't know since I am not knowledgeable in veterinary medicine. We were in and out pretty quickly after a check up with some flea and heart worm meds and a follow up appointment for one more vaxx.

This response is disappointing on multiple levels. First, refusing service to a client for leaving a fair review raises serious questions about how feedback is handled at this practice. Second, the lack of direct communication shows poor customer service and unprofessional conflict resolution. I also believes this demonstrates his character over all. If my previous review contained inaccuracies, I would have welcomed a conversation to address them. I would have even removed the review as part as an agreed resolution. Instead, I was dismissed without any attempt at dialogue. This experience has only reinforced my original concerns about the practice's approach to client relationships. On a personal level - look Dr. Mann, you need to humble yourself and although I might not look like it, I'm sure I earn more money than you as an engineer of 15+ years without the doctorate degree and your attitude that comes along with it. I'm looking forward to establishing a relationship with a new local vet and it's a pity Dr Chahal turned this great business over to you.

You should never buy a puppy from a retailer. These puppies have their origins in puppy mills…read more(breed enthusiasts will never sell to a retailer) and will not have had the right care and attention a small puppy needs in order to flourish. There is no way of knowing their background or health. A recent study has shown that such puppies are more likely to be aggressive, and by purchasing them you are perpetuating the puppy mill system which causes great distress to animals. I rescued a "puppy" from Noah's B'Ark and had the worst experience. Aggressiveness signs showed up right away and we wanted to give the puppy back after trying for months! We left endless voicemails and we never got one call back! Don't be tempted to buy a puppy from outside a pet supermarket or any other kind of store! Reputable breeders do not provide puppies in this way, and no reputable dog breeder would ever have to sell puppies through pet shops.

They have a 2 week trial policy for their adoptions. If you spend time with a dog, like him/her,…read morefill out the application and somehow prove you're not going to sell the dog to some animal testing facility or dog fighting ring, you can take the dog home for 2 weeks and they'll hold your fee check. If, after the 2 weeks, it doesn't work out, you can hang your head low and bring the dog back. Worst case -- the dog wonders WTF happened but at least you got the dog out of a cage for 2 weeks. That way, if it doesn't work out, you don't panic and take him/her to a kill shelter where they'll kill him/her because they happen to be overcrowded that day. Seriously. I like that Noah's B'Ark rescues dogs from shelters. It sucks that they don't take dogs from Lake County because I know they're desperate for help, but Noah's does take dogs from other shelters in the area, and in general I think that's an absolutely HEROIC thing to do. Especially since there are so many dogs out there who DO get euthanized due to overpopulation in shelters. A lot of the dogs that come to Noah's are placed in foster homes and their foster parents work with them on behavior, potty training, overcoming anxiety, etc. I've talked with Rawna several times, as well as a few of the foster parents who were at Petsmart on the weekends. It really seems like these people love the animals and want them to be okay. That's another thing I love about this place. They bring some of the adoptable animals to Petsmart in Rohnert Park on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 4pm. It gives the animals exposure, and the reps from Noah's are always there to answer questions. I'd definitely recommend going there to meet the animals and fill out an application (or fill one out online before hand -- it's quicker!) if you're thinking of adopting a dog. They have puppies and purebreds if that's your thing! Yay!

We've taken him there twice now and I can tell that they really care about animals. Sarina was very kind and friendly and Dr Diehl has such a kind and calm demeanor. Kevin normally is quite nervous being at the vet but when I brought him here he was laying down calmly on the vets table and when Dr Diehl came in he continued to lay calmly on the table. That impressed me. Dr Diehl did a great job on Kevin's teeth. He's recovering well and now has beautiful white teeth. Thank you very much for caring for my boy!

On the days he went to Day Care he would position himself where he could see Trish's van come around the corner. When he saw the van, he would get so excited he would start to shake. He loved his Auntie Trish so much. Knowing he was in such good hands gave me the opportunity to take long trips without worrying about him as well as long work days when he was safe and happy with his Auntie Trish. Rocky recently passed away at the age of 14. He was a "difficult dog." He was never difficult with Trish. She really is a dog whisperer, and loves your pet almost as much as you do.

Trish and Maria came over several days before to meet the dogs and gather information about them including their meds, where they sleep, what/when they eat, when they go to the bathroom. They were great, taking any and all information I gave them. On the day we left for vacation I left another long (obsessive) list on the counter with all of the dogs information. When Maria arrived she texted us a picture of the dogs letting us know they were doing well. When she left every morning Maria texted another picture letting us know how the dogs were doing and what time she was leaving. Again this happened in the evening with more pictures. These pictures and texts made me feel like our fur babies were in excellent hands and eased any nerves I had about leaving the dogs with a stranger. When we arrived home after 3 nights away the dogs had been well cared for and were happy and healthy. I am so thankful to Maria and Trish for the wonderful service they provided to our dogs.
