I enjoyed my first visit here. Dr. Owyoung was very informative and understanding. He was pretty booked out the day I was in and I had brought up I wanted to fix a chipped front tooth. He said he probably wouldn't be able to fit that in the appt today but next time. We got to talking and I mentioned I had a very important event the next day, he then proceeded to get me in the schedule to get my chipped tooth fixed that very same day. I was so happy that I'd have a beautiful smile for my wedding day. He goes above and beyond for his patients. He gave me advice I'd never heard of before from previous dentists. Just got an exam with Dr. Alex and both him and the entire staff were exceptional. They completed a full facial examination for any neoplasias before even starting the dental work. Then when completing the radiographs, my technician was helping me breath as I have a very small mouth. Very excited about the quality of care the doc took on each tooth and the entire staff made me feel welcome. I even met the senior dentist and he was very welcoming as well. Dr. Owyoung and his staff are caring and do not make you feel inadequate because you have a Class III bite. [My teeth are not perfectly straight and my lower jaw will not go all the way back. I would have to have surgery to reset my jaw.] I had another dentist say I needed to be "fixed" , which I found dehumanizing. Dr. Owyong's approach was quite opposite. He explained how his Class 3 bite inspired him to become a dentist! He made my problem into something that was inspirational as opposed to something that needed to be fixed. Truly a diplomatic human being. His staff are also a reflection of his character and are pleasurable to work with. Did you know his reception room has a video that shows a chimpanzee flossing? I have been a patient here for about 20 years. I enjoy my visits...even when I have to get fillings. The employees just make me feel so at home. They aren't the cheapest, I usually have to pay a bit after my insurance takes care of their portion. I don't have a huge problem with that because it's worth it to me. This review is looooong overdue. I have been coming to Dr.Owyoung and his staff since I was 3 years old. Dr. Fong as been taking care of my teeth for a very long time and I have never had an issue. On Tuesday March 31 I went in to see Dr Owyoung for and emergency filling (the one I had had fallen out). Let me just say the entire staff was amazing and my experience was entirely positive. Thelma, the receptionist, was very helpful and patient with me in scheduling my appointment (I had some complications to sort out). When I got there the day of my appointment she was warm and friendly and we had a nice conversation while I waited. Once in the chair Dr. Owyoung was incredibly friendly and relatable (not a quality many doctors have). As we talked about the health of my teeth and the work that needed to be done I felt like he genuinely cared about what was best for me and that that was his top priority. Additionally, Lupita, his assistant, was hospitable, very nice, and knowledgeable. They both made me feel comfortable and trust that I was in good hands. Lastly, I would like to note that upon scheduling a followup appointment Dr. Owyoung worked with me on how I would be charged so that I could afford the work that needed to be done. I am a teacher at a charter school and do not receive dental coverage so this courtesy came as a tremendous relief, I very much appreciate it, and for me it just further demonstrated that he genuinely cares about his patients and prioritizes what is best for them. I started going here after a referral from a friend. They are great. I have contacted another dentist prior to coming here but they pretty much said screw you. Soft touch dentistry is such a great place to go to. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. I'm so glad my friend referred me here. From my first visit I did not feel pressure about having the dental work done. They explained to me what they wanted to do and why. They also said that all the work is recommended but not mandatory. They will work with you and can schedule multiple appointments to help alleviate the cost instead of doing everything all at once. So far I have had a dental deep cleaning and it was great. Keri the dental hygienist started off by asking if I knew what it was. Before I like to get medical work done I also do some sort of research. I explained to her I did some minor research but she explained much more in depth. She made me feel comfortable welcome and at ease. I heard so many scary stories about deep cleaning and I did not experience that one bit. She constantly checked to make sure I was doing ok and comfortable. I was able to reschedule my appt with no questions ask. They send me so many appt reminder it's great. without those text message I would've missed so many appt.
