I went for an art exhibit, but you'd think it was some super special VIP affair with celebrities with the way security was handled. I must have been IDed a minimum of three times. Every time I thought I could finally put my license away, there was someone else asking for it. That aside, the actual show in itself was wondrous. The creativity was booming, as was the atmosphere itself, which made having a conversation nearly impossible. It was loud, full of people, and it was a Friday night. Not to mention that with admission you got a free drink. This was clearly popular! I had a Jack and lemonade and it was refreshing. I also tried a Jack with ginger, I believe, and that was just as good (or nearly anyway). I would have stayed longer, but I wanted to chat with company, and besides, we had a dinner reservation elsewhere. read more

My most recent visit to Soho Studios was for the Jack Daniels Art, Beats & Lyrics event last weekend though I've been here for various other art & music events. A detailed review depends on how the event promoter organizes it and what's included, so I think 4 stars is about fair. Architecturally, the space is an open warehouse with a steel truss roof and lots of open space. However, this can make for iffy acoustics. Street parking, as with almost any time there's an event in Miami, is a challenge so your best bet coming here is to UberLyftCab. I didn't have to use the bathroom any of the times I went so no comment, but the overall space seemed pretty clean. For my most recent event (the Jack Daniels' one), the art was hip-hop based and besides full paintings there were smaller prints for $25 available. That looked like a great way to start your art collection! The friend I went with and I had dinner plans elsewhere, but there was also a concert happening. As far as comp drinks, there was only one per person and I seem to recall it being more generous in years past. At least my Jack & Ginger was pretty good, with just the right amount of sweet to balance out the whiskey. read more

Cool little Wynwood venue in a warehouse. That's the summary. We were there for an Action Bronson concert, and I do not think it was sold out. There was lots of standing room (no seating), a VIP area, more than enough porta-pottys, a couple bars, and a small merch stand in the back. Being that the show started at midnight on a Thursday during Art Basel, I don't think they drew the crowd they were expecting. If that ws a sold out show, then they leave a ton of empty space so people aren't crammed in. Either way, the venue had more than enough space to do your thing without having people all over you (unless you were trying to scratch and claw up to the stage). The bar prices were surprisingly lower than expected. Although they only had Modelo, it was $8 per bottle. I was expecting stadium pricing, so this was a pleasant surprise. They also have some mixed drink options. One note about the venue is that they are very strict about what you can bring in. I think this is an effort to control drugs being brought in, but make sure you check the list before coming because it is pretty extensive. All in all a great little venue. I'd like to see a few more shows here to see how it is with different crowds, but the sound and atmosphere was great for the AB show. Side note: Wynwood parking is a nightmare. Good luck. I've been to Soho Studios multiple times for multiple events. This is a 70,000 sq ft warehouse space in the heart of Wynwood. It's empty inside but you can create whatever venue you want inside. I have been there for Jack Daniels events, Bacardi, Art Basel, art, lll points festival, etc. as well as a private wedding. I do have to say that all times that I have been there, the line has been crazy long to get in and also over time it gets stuffy in the warehouse space. Don't think insulation is that great inside Soho. They do not have a private parking lot so I always end up parking in the street and paying the meter. Yes the area is sketchy but just be aware of your surroundings. read more

I came her for Dessert Wars Season 6 on 9/30/18. I was very disappointed on the organization and layout of this venue. The choice of vendors was not well thought out and this venue could not handle the 1,000 people there effectively. Out of 50 vendors, I would dare say over half of them were cupcake vendors. In the heat, with no air conditioning in this venue, this was a mess. I think there was ONE fan for this whole warehouse and I didn't even feel it, I just happened to see it in line. For this reason, vendors who served flan, baklava, and ice cream/popsicles (much needed) really stood out. There was no clear organization or set up to this event and the lines were not managed properly, or at all. The set up of booths was quite pitiful and the decorations were kind of pathetic. Overall I was disappointed that I paid $30 for this event and I won't be attending again. I know another popular complaint was that there was no clear distinction between VIP/GA line and tickets. This was upsetting as this venue is definitely large enough to accommodate such lines. After my experience here I am weary of attending another event here. read more

​I went to this place for the Miami New Times Burger Fest, and I didn't like it. Extremely disorganized. It was so loud and kind of hot inside this place. ​The line to get in took me more than the time I was inside this place. This was a burger festival, which means lots and lots of food, and in this case, burgers. So they didn't have enough garbage cans. The poor people working here, were in and out non-stop emptying the few small garbage cans they had. Public parking is $1.5 per hour, and they had Valet parking for $10.00 read more

We had a company event there - where we got the whole place. The food was amazing and the music was good. It has the place where younger folks can dance to heart pounding musics and a room off to the side for old folks like me to carry a conversation easily. The location was a bit off the beaten path but a great venue for group activities- if you or your company can afford it. read more

This venue is huge. It takes up a blicks space of building size. The best thing is the ac was pumping considering the heat & the amount of patrons walking in & out. They only have one bathroom inside. For such a huge building it should have more restrooms. read more

I came here for the Dessert Wars event which was this past Sunday. I would say this may have not been the best venue. Parking was very difficult. I decided to uber, but a friend of mine drove and it took 15 minutes for her to find a spot that wasn't even close. As the event suggests, it was a dessert tasting. Which means a lot of sweets, creams, frostings, etc that easily melt in the heat. Things get sticky. The venue not being air conditioned really affected this, and not in a good way. We attended the New Times Burger Fest. The location is in Wynwood some may have an issue with the area as it is still rundown and had homeless people on every corner. The streets surrounding the site reeked of urine. Street parking is available at $1.50 per hour. Nothing to write home about,its a big warehouse. Went to deadbeats vs cyclops last night and it was well over 100 degrees with no air conditioning for the whole show, never have I experienced conditions like this during a show, people passing out and vomiting left and right. Truly a terrible experience and I'll never be back. The venue seemed to be packed passed capacity as well read more

I came to this venue for III Points 2014 and just this past weekend for Rolling Loud. About the only thing that's good about this place is that it's huge and can host small festivals with multiple stages, but that's about it. The main stage area is just a gigantic warehouse that has the most god-awful acoustics at any venue I've gone to listen to music at. Mostly you'll end up hearing whatever act you came to hear sounding like the Charlie Brown's teacher - wahmp womp womp womp wah wahmp womp. For such a huge, open space it also really is poorly ventilated. I didn't notice it too much at III Points, but with a more sizable crowd at Rolling Loud, the main stage area/warehouse became almost stifling - and I'm not talking about being in the middle of the crowd, but even out on the edges. It rained this past weekend, and somehow large portions of the main stage area were wet and had puddles in them. There's nothing like being at an indoor concert and feeling sludge water splash up on your legs when you're not mentally prepared for it. Considering tickets for both festivals I've attended here haven't been cheap, I would at least expect them to be able to afford to have some sort of janitorial staff squeegee/mop the floor before letting people in the place....or, even better, fix it so water doesn't get inside in the first place. Unless you're coming to see someone that you just *really* cannot miss, I would suggest avoiding going to concerts here. read more

Was here for the Miami Music Week 2018. Visited this spot back to back two nights. First night was when Deadbeats b2b Jauz and the second night was Adam Beyer b2b Cirez D! It's a warehouse type club with good sound and lightning. The production especially with Adam & Cirez D was one of the best for a warehouse style party. There was a little or no air conditioning and it was super hot with a fully packed house. This is where they have to really do something about it. Drinks are overly priced but that's just like all the other clubs in Miami. Would I visit again? Of course yes if Adam, Eric Prydz or Carl Cox play there :) read more

Was really excited that I had the privilege to attend an amazing event at Soho studios called Taste the Nation that helps feed many children around the United States. I was surprised at how big the spot was because looking at it from the outside it looks smaller. The art work on the outside give it that funk that is expected from this up and coming neighborhood around the Wynwood area. When I checked in I quickly started snapping pictures and trying all the delicious foods from all the top restaurants in the Miami area. I finally got to try Finka and just loved it. My two favorite drinks came from Lilt lounge that is located at the Epic Hotel that I soon will be visiting in August. Favorite beer by far was from J Wakefield brewery the beer was called Jefe which is bookmarked on my pg cant wait to check it out. I also donated $30 and got to pick out a wine. I was just blown away at this event one of my favorite events by far. read more

Need to spread the word about the awful experience I and others had last night at the deadbeats vs cyclops rec show last night. This place needs to be held accountable. The night started out delayed because the power was not turned on prior to guests arriving, and even when the power was turned back on, the air conditioning was absolutely not. It was unbearably hot inside the venue to the point where it was genuinely a serious safety issue. Some of my favorite artists played at this show and I could not stand to be inside for more than five minutes at a time to listen and enjoy without showing warning signs of passing out. I went up to the "event safety" person on duty to alert him that I had seen multiple people pass out from the ridiculous conditions inside the venue, coming from a place of concern for the safety of others, and to my dismay was responded to with hostility and was told that his only job was to "drag out passed out or dead bodies" , and that this was somehow our fault for listening to this type of music. Also, that it wasn't his problem because he's off at 3:00. The safety officer himself was not even inside the venue because it felt like the literal pits of hell. You would think there would be some sort of compromise, like free water, but it was actually quite the opposite with water bottles being up-charged at ridiculously inflated prices. I have never in my life been to a show so poorly organized and with such little regard to the safety of the guests who PAID to be there. I demand a refund for this, it was truly impossible to enjoy myself and receive the experience that I paid for. EVERYONE should be refunded for putting their lives at risk. read more

I'm reviewing Soho Studios as a venue -- which it is. I don't think that it's fair to review them as whatever underlying event was happening there. That doesn't make sense. I do things that make sense. Hence, the review as a venue. Hence, four stars. Yes, you will come here as for an event. In its regular life, I believe SSM is a production studio that further lends Wynwood it's cred as all things cool in Miami. But, after hours, SSM takes on the hue of whatever entity is paying to use its space and as a venue, I really dig it. There's so much potential here. You can do almost anything with the massive indoor space and the courtyard area lends itself to easy security because it's fenced in and easily patrolled. As a person who produces events for a living, I like to look for these elements and when I notice them, I make a note. The natural acoustics are awesome for a concert setting. The concrete floors clean easily. The high ceilings add even more space to an already massive buildout. The location and outdoor space mean you can pack everything from food trucks to a bevy of vendors in and outdoors without worry. There's a nearby lot for overflow parking, so you don't have to wander the streets looking for a place to hitch your ride. It's a completely versatile canvas that can be dressed up or down, depending on what's going on. What happens from that point is no longer in control of SSM and is the result of the producer. Please consider that when reviewing the space. As for my produced time here (as a guest, not the man behind the curtains), I dug it. The bars were plentiful and easy to access. I could walk in and out of the red carpet as much as I liked. The lighting and draping were dramatic. There was plenty of room to move. There were flight attendant sanky pankies adding needed comedy relief. What more do you need? read more

Amazing venue! We attended the Jackson Health 100 Year Anniversary after party in this venue and we were blown away by the size and the decorations. This place caters to top events and very large groups. The staff was amazing, especially those awesome bartenders mixing up some great concoctions and going above and beyond with hospitality. The music was amazing. The DJ kept the crowd dancing mixing it up Miami style and hitting all the rights genres and bringing the right oldies into the mix. Good job crew! read more

Came here recently for the Miami New Times Out to Brunch event. The space wasn't bad but definitely could have been better. Biggest complaint is that they had no AC! It was hard to enjoy the booths in the outdoor area because when you returned inside you wouldn't cool off. There were not enough trash cans around and as a result people just left their trash at tables or deliberately went up to a table (which they weren't many of) to put their trash on. There are a couple other things that could have been better but this might be for the actual planners of the event vs the venue. read more

So currently I'm down in Miami, Florida for Winter Music Conference 2009 and I've been partying and skateboarding and swimming, then hitting the clubs at night. Last night (Thursday, March 27th) I met up with Chicago JUKE legend DJ GANT MAN and his crew as he was DJing for Chicago's hottest MC in the music scene, KID SISTER. We walked in with style, the sound was pounding outside, and there were amazing graffiti murals on the surrounding exterior walls. But this venue is in the hood. For real. And although the police were parked on numerous corners they were just kinda watching to make sure no one got jumped and robbed. So we walk into the actual venue and there are a ton of people but not many dancing, and not enough to make the huge space look even a quarter of the way to capacity. But talk about an amazing stage and lighting and video. This place looked like a downtown Chicago club on the inside, just not enough people there to really make the party feel the way it aught to. We walk to the stage and DIPLO is on and wrapping up his DJ set. Showing love to Gant, he started mixing in some of his JUKE classics to get people pumped for some real Chicago music. Now this is why I only gave it two stars: Gant Man basically had to rewire and install both of the CDJ 1000's to their mixer. And for some reason, the sound guy wasn't there to do it. Then there were mic problems, and PA problems, and dead silence while Gant Man was forced to get on the mic and talk shit about their bunk ass system. People are practically filing out while the man they flew down for this party was forced to ghetto rig up all the gear himself. That is so lame. Finally their sound guy gets his shit together, gets GANT MAN on spinnin' and gets mics set up. But the sound was horribly unbalanced: too much of the highs...it sounded like glass. 3 songs in, they finally get the sound levels decent. Gant Man is pissed and just wants to get the show on the road so he starts to mix in Kid Sister's first track and welcome her to the stage. People were hyped then and the two bounced through her 4 bangers while still having to deal with sound issues again. A sound engineer is paid to make the party actually listenable. I hope he got fired. Literally after finishing their tracks, Gant Man was like, "We out." and walked off stage. The following DJ was no where to be found. That is until they came in after 5 minutes of silence. So we left. And after a horrible experience with Miami's underground sound circuit I was very happy to return to the newest club here on Miami's strip of dance venues, CHICAGO. This is a really cool venue... The set up for III Points was creative and artistic. It's a very spacious area and the festival took advantage of all the space. III Points also has really good food- Shake Shack and La Latina! The location is also perfect- in Wynwood close to many good restaurants. I look forward to coming to more events here!! read more

The concept was great; free drinks, music, art and few food trucks outside. The place is nice with very minimal decor, projectors playing videos on the walls and some couches. My only issue was that the music kept stopping every few minutes. It was just annoying so we left. read more

Went to S.O.S (Spirit of Sound) on saturday which took place here in Soho, crazy venue! It was huge, SO much room there was a 1st floor and 2nd floor both had their own DJs and there was the outside yard with a dubstep tent and a "naughty" bus parked in the back with its own DJ as well. Awesome event, would love to do it again! read more
