My only complaint is that I think there was only one bartender and I waited at the bar for a while until someone else eventually came up to ask what I wanted. Mostly stayed outdoor at the patio and it was a fun, chill, and intimate vibe here! The music was awesome and pumping. Good music and so much good mood lighting that wasn't too overwhelming and dark where it would feel too much like a nightclub. Thumbs up! Love the lighting outside and inside. A lot of different seating arrangements if you want to sit at the bar, lounge around, sit at the individual seats with tables. I came here with a group. As someone who frequently goes out I am very disappointed in this place . When we go there they advertised free margaritas for ladies. After ordering two drinks and a "free " margarita the bill was closed and the itemized reciept was not shown of course the bartender had gave me the device where it only showed suggestion for tip . Not additional tip just tip so I tipped. The devices didn't even allow for a receipt . When I asked for the reciept they did not give me the receipt they then provided me the itemized receipt. After paying 21.00 we asked why were we charged for a free drink and also why didn't they tell me there was already a 20% gratuity when the device said " gratuity " not additional tip. The bartender said because you pay a service fee on the free drink . I call everything bs and I'll not go back. We basically paid double because they were being sneaky and they lost a customer because I don't like being lied to. read more

It seems as though others have had a similar experience of being scammed at this bar based off reading other reviews--which is not surprising. Never ever coming back here again! This review is mainly to comment on the funny business going on with their cover charge, "free" drinks, and gratuity. Right when you walk in there are people who automatically charge you $20 in cover charge which they said you get back in four $5 fake paper bills which serve as "money" to spend once you walk inside. At the bar itself, there were inconsistencies. Basically, we had $60 of "free money" to spend at the bar with the fake paper money from our cover charge as it was the 3 of us. Most drinks cost $14, and so we still had leftover "fake money" so we decided to order the $16 chicharron. Math wise, this comes to a total of $58, which is under $60 right? Apparently THEIR way of doing math is to charge you a subtotal of $55 then charge the extra $3 on your credit card again since they don't accept the "extra" paper money since we had $60 total (which, ??? this was absolutely absurd considering this is REAL money but they're treating it like fake money) since she then goes on to charge us an AUTOMATIC 20% tip for her in which we asked multiple times why we were charged this way and she just rudely disregarded our party and proceeded to ask us to pay the cost. Like why in the world do we need to pay an EXTRA $15 on our credit cards when no way in hell would we have given her 20% with this service and attitude, mind you no option to choose a tip percentage. My friends and I have been to our far share of bars and nowhere else do they force a party of 3 to pay 20% tip and make us feel like we were scammed of an extra $15 while you're at it. Very average drinks, and for $16 of chicharron, it was a small quantity of dry flavorless pork. Another note--we saw a customer drop his $5 "fake money" by accident when he was trying to get the fake money out of his pocket to pay for the drink he just ordered. Seconds later, a worker bussing tables goes in to snatch his $5 of "fake money" off the floor to put into his own pocket then proceeds to charge the customer for a drink that he just ordered. Basically then overcharging him at LEAST by $5 since the worker pretended that he didn't just pick up that customer's $5 of fake money off the floor 5 seconds ago. El Patio - what has not been said about this institution of imbibing, this paragon of perreo that has had a spot on Miami's social calendar since the early 2010's. Though they had a brief hiatus, they reopened late last year and we had an Elite event there! We all know it's essentially an open space with a trellis style roof to enjoy the beats despite the rain. The beats are definitely español - reggaeton both new and classic and the drinks great for sipping. I believe they have a food menu but I haven't tried recently. My most recent bevvie was the "Mojibiscus". With a base of Ron Zacapa 7 year, garnished with vanilla, apple bitters and lime, it was a perfect and fresh blend pa' pasar la botella. Besides great beats, there are great bottle parades. The door staff is pretty friendly, and they also take debit card when you have to pay cover. This is my third time going to El Patio, two of which have been on nights that they have events. It's a good time each and every time I go. The space is outdoors hence the name El Patio but you are never hot because it is filled with fans and there is a cool breeze all night long. The two nights that I went that had events were pretty spectacular with special drink happy hours and even a swim week fashion show. This time around I tried one of their cocktails. The White Lotus aka "Baja panty" the panty dropper haha that's what it says in the menu I didn't make this up. But can I tell you that this was the most refreshing, botanical infusion, tasting drink so delicious. Ive had my fair shares of cocktails around town but I fell in love with this one. You must try it! The music is your mix but mostly Spanish regeatton and dance music. None of the waiters or bartenders are snooty. Patio is back and it's just about as good as before. If you were here in their original era, you'll appreciate that most of the ambiance is the same. There's good music, good dancing and fun vibes all around. Sadly the famous back stairs have been reduced to a small corner which seems to have made the place appear a little smaller. At a certain point they do start charging cover, but return it to you in their monopoly style cash which you can use to redeem drinks. It's not a simple here's $20 in patio dollars for an $18 drink though as they want you to spend some cash and tip for each purchase meaning you will be spending slightly more than cover to actually use them. Still it's a perk considering some of the neighboring venues that charge cover for admission only. This last time we got bottle service which isn't necessary but recommended for larger groups. On a busy night, just about every other group seems to have bottle service, but isn't exactly put at a private table. The whole crowd is basically mixed together regardless of bottle service or not which makes it more fun in my opinion, but it can get awkward at times when you're trying to find a space that doesn't feel like you're invading the space of those who did buy bottles and have somewhat of a section/area/high top reserved for them. Reggaeton and dancing is not unknown in Miami. This isn't a new revolutionary spot, but it is a consistent classic that I'm glad has been revived. You can't replicate the vibes here anywhere else. I think for me, it was refreshing to see how much Latinos embrace the culture here. We participated in the Wynwood Cinco de Mayo Bar Crawl from 5PM-11PM. A $30 ticket included 5 bars with 1 free drink and free entry at each. Unfortunately, the free drink at each of these bars included a cheap liquor (whisky, tequila, vodka, or rum) and 1 mixer (Sprite, Coke, cranberry juice, or OJ). We had fun but wish we had more options for the drinks! We couldn't even order a margarita. We arrived to El Patio at 10PM and stayed for about 2 hours. It is one of me and my husband's favorites.
