Jon truly went above and beyond to solve my problem and did so at a very reasonable rate. I would recommended him without reservation. I reached out to Jon because I was having an issue powering my Ecobee thermostat. A C-wire was exposed, but not functioning. Each time he responded within minutes, including on the weekends, to provide detailed advice and troubleshooting tips before an appointment was even set up. When it was clear an appointment was necessary, it was scheduled within 72 hours. Jon arrived promptly on the day of the appointment and quickly began work to diagnose and solve the issue. He listened intently to my background information and asked follow-up questions. Then he climbed into my incredibly small and treacherous ceiling, contorting himself to avoid exposed nails and metal, all while calmly and professionally working with his great assistant Medi to figure out the problem. Once he figured out the issue, he proposed a cheap, quick solution that both solved my problem and also made it easier for future repairmen to access the unit. After a quick discussion, he and Medi had it fixed within 30 minutes. After solving the problem, they went above and beyond to make sure the thermostat was configured properly and any mess was cleaned. They even re-installed a separate ceiling panel that I had removed myself! Jon and Medi were in and out 90 minutes, and after all that, refused extra payment multiple times. I called about 10 companies for a quote on a PTAC replacement and settled on SohoHVAC. Although Jon's was not the lowest quote, I went with him as he was the most helpful and, echoing some of the other reviews here, most responsive. He offered an appointment window of just 1 hour, compared to 4 hours from most others. On the day of installation Jon arrived early, but unfortunately I had given him the wrong model number. He took back the unit, got the correct one, and was able to squeeze me back into his schedule later in the day for no additional charge. He also made two additional visits to fix the poor installation work done by the previous company. Throughout our communication, Jon was courteous, efficient, and professional. Having talked to some other HVAC companies and having a less than pleasant experience I reached out to Jon at SohoHVAC. He was very responsive in the communication and very professional. When he and his partner came to my apartment they worked quickly to remove the old Ptack unit we had in our bedroom and replace it with the new one. I picked SohoHVAC after looking through extensive reviews online in area. I was pretty careful after some poor experiences with contractors in the past, as it's pretty hard to find someone reputable in the field. I was super relieved to speak with Jon and quickly realized that he was a straight shooter. He gave me a quote and stuck to his word. We scheduled a diagnostic visit and a follow-up visit and he did show up as promised to both. What more can you ask for! Fast forward a couple of months now and it is getting very cold in NYC. The machines that Jon installed worked well for us throughout the summer but now when we tried to turn on the heat, for whatever reason they were not working. I texted Jon over the weekend on a hail mary to see if he would be able to come by to take a look the following week. I was not expecting a response back from him since I reached out after normal business hours. To my surprise, Jon texted me back quickly the same day and was able to talk me through the problem. He was patient and walked me through every single step over the phone using pictures and videos. I resolved the issue with his guidance on the phone (and felt like I learned a little bit about PTAC units :) ) and he told me he would be happy to swing by later in the week in person to take a look as well to make sure everything was okay.
