    Deep-fried rex sole ($18.95)

Been to Sol Lee's for several meals. They're in the Hanin Village plaza that houses Hmart and multiple Korean restaurants. Clientele is Koreans. - Banchan - Hot stone bowl bibimbap ($17.95) - rice crisped up in the dolsot. Solid - Soft tofu stew ($17.95) - homey, comforting - Pork back-bone stew ($18.95) - gamjatang was excellent. Broth had good depth and complexity - Pork with rice and mixed veg in hot stone pot ($17.95) - rice didn't get crispy, pork was tender - Spicy cold noodles with yulmu kimchi ($15.95) - Deep-fried rex sole ($18.95) - every table orders this. Sole was perfectly cooked; light, crispy, not oily. Two good sized portions - Steamed monkfish ($47.95 medium) - agujjim was a mountain of bean sprouts, sadly bland and flavourless. My least favourite dish - Skate soup ($17.95) - broth was tasty, with a touch of smokiness. Skate was cartilagey Some interesting, unique dishes at SL.

    Japchae and pork bone soup

Their japchae is good. The ambiance are nice and there are plenty of seatings. A lot of korean people come here to eat as well. I ordered japchae and pork bone soup. The pork meat easily falls off the bone. It's tender and the rice is on a claypot, so you can get crispy rice afterwards. The japchae is not too oily or salty. It's well balanced and I can see why my friend recommend it. However, it doesn't feel memorable. I would like to try their deep fried sole which seems to be a more popular option!

As most can tell you, North Road is an absolute treasure trove for great Korean food. Sol Lee's is definitely no exception. The restaurant looks very simple and clean, which is completely fine as the main attraction is the food itself. Service was also fine and I found that we were well taken care of during our visit. We ordered a hot pot to share between the both of us, and as you can tell from the picture below, the portions are very generous for its price. Not only was the broth extremely flavourful and savoury, but the pork was nice and juicy as well. Overall, Sol Lee's is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a hearty meal.

    Bolgolgi & Octopus Hot Pot

Nothing like warm soup on a cold day. Came here with family & service was quick & efficient. Typical set up of tables and booths located in plaza near Hmart so plenty of parking. Seafood Pancake - this nailed it for the top crispy part of a seafood Pancake but the bottom of pancake was absent or missing. Maybe they were trying for a less heavy pancake but for the price I expected a bit more. Bolgolgi & Octopus Hot Pot - good size for sharing between 2 people and maybe a 3rd with a smaller appetite. Good portion of flavorful beef & octopus. Feel the place should be rated a bit higher than what it is currently.

Food is hot and tasty. Service was friendly and was promptly seated. Ambience is not the greatest but good for family or friend get together. Menu is limited. Jap Chae is not greasy. Pork Cutlet is crunchy and tender.

I feel like this place needs an updated yelp page - because the one star - and inaccurate name seems a little unfair - address is current - however I believe it goes solely as "Sol Lee's Korean Restaurant" Anyhow, was very busy in the afternoon around 2PM - might be due to the fact that it shares the plaza parking lot with H Mart! - However , service was fast and staff was super friendly and made a great suggestion with the pot to share among 3 people - Portion was great - Squid + bulgogi - mmmm so delicious! - too bad i wasn't able to test the heat this time - as my buddies do not have a tolerance to spice - so we got stuck with MILD :( Regardless taste was great , meat was so tasty , but the Squid was a tad to chewy? - but that might be affected by the amount of time we left it in the pot? Maybe too long or tried to eat it too soon - Anyways - I will definitely revisit when the opportunity arises - as there was many things on the menu that looked so appealing - and they are super busy with takeout and delivery orders as well ! https://www.instagram.com/vanleo.eatsfood1015/

Really friendly and efficient service, large portion on the bibimbap, rich flavourful seolleongtang! Delicious pumpkin soup on the house to start was a pleasant surprise. While the beef tartare was a common highlight among reviews, it didn't seem to deliver a wow factor other than being insta-pic worthy. However, this was an extremely solid bibimbap - satisfying, tasty, and generously topped. Happy with our choices.

This place, tucked away just 5 minutes' driving distance from Coquitlam Centre, is clearly beloved by the local Korean community. The portion sizes are generous. They are perfect for sharing with family or friends. We saw many families and younger groups dining in, which gave it a cozy, homey vibe. We can taste the love and comfort in every bite. Here's what we ordered: * Beef Tartare Bibimbap - Not your typical bibimbap! The raw beef was beautifully seasoned and full of flavour. This was hands down our favourite dish! * Naengmyeon - Cold noodles in a super refreshing broth. Perfectly chewy with a balanced, savoury tang. A must-have on a hot day. * Japchae - Excellent portion, great price. The noodles were springy and not greasy at all--just the right balance of flavour. Great value, quality ingredients, and authentic flavours--Hansol is definitely going on our go-to list whenever we're craving comforting Korean food. We are highly recommend it for students, families, or anyone who loves real Korean cooking! Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 5/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! Price: $30-$40 each person (dinner) Presentation: 3/5 Parking: 4/5 Tips: * Free refillable banchan (side dishes) * Must-try: naengmyeon (cold noodles) * Hidden gem: beef tartare bibimbap-flavourful and beautifully presented. * Limited seating - expect wait during peak hours * Tasty, affordable, and generous portions Would I Return: Yes ‍

Solid seafood place near Coquitlam Centre…read more Parking is available in the lot in front of the building. The place looks nice and modern. Comfortable cushy chairs, and wooden trim. Staff are friendly but understaffed. Once the place filled up they were swamped. Signature steamed seafood pot - definitely on the pricey side, but they don't skimp out. Special mention for the presentation. Plenty of goodies including an entire lobster, half a large octopus (tenticle/arm half), snails, oysters, scallops, prawns, and fish balls among others. Basically everything without fish. Served in a large tray (the ones seen at banquet buffets), and everything cooked in broth. This was enough to probably feed 4-5 adults (assuming average appetites). So pretty. Deep fried squid with fries - honestly this dish was meh. Basically exactly what it sounds like. Squid is tempura style. Nothing special. I'd skip this one. Bossam (pork belly wraps) - served with tofu and spicy kimchi and some vegetable (kelp?) as well. They don't really give enough wraps compared to the pork slices. Decent portion size. My friends and I gobbled this up. This place also serves makgeolli (Korean rice wine) for a very reasonable price. Goes well with the food. Overall my friends and I left happy. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point to try some other dishes. Recommended.

We went on a Wednesday and it was all you can eat pork belly and marinated pork, with a soup and unlimited kimchi pancake and sides all for $30. The servers were extremely attentive in asking about refills, whether that's the rice, meats or even side dishes. A great bang for your buck for all you can eat these days. I was craving this soup and glad I tried it here because it hit the spot! Tasted delicious, didn't have to wait for a table, and it was reasonably priced then. Came back here last night for dinner with my family and was finally able to try the bbq items. It was a hit! We ordered 2 of the combo A which was the perfect servings for 2 adults and 3 (very hungry!) teenaged boys. Not only did it come with 3 meat types (thinly sliced pork belly, marinated beef Bulgogi, and one other thinly sliced beef), it also came with soup, banchan, and a big bowl of Bibimbap. We also ordered their seafood pancake which was perfectly crispy and not too thin or thick. The actual bbq grill itself was the best one I've seen at a Korean restaurant because it was non-stick, temperature controlled really well, and it didn't leave us smelling like the food after dining. The ventilation must've been good here as it wasn't super smoky at all. The best dish was definitely the bean paste soup! We all loved it and had never tried it before, so next time we have Korean, it will be a staple in our order! It wasn't too busy last night so we were seated right away. Staff were friendly and while they were short-staffed, they were quick enough to get what we requested and ordered in a timely manner.

Very flavourful. If you love onions, order this. Came with PURPLE RICE. I love Korean purple rice (which I believe is a mix of many different grains added to white rice). Unfortunately most Korean restaurants in Vancouver do not have purple rice. -Cold Noodle (14.99$, but they have a lunch special where, for 16.99$, you get two potato pancakes): At first I was hesitant to order this because I love buckwheat (dark gray/purplish colour) cold noodles, and these weren't those, but am so happy we did. I love the texture. The flavour of the broth was also excellent. My only qualm was the "cucumber garnishes" that, in my opinion, were actually too-sweet pickles. Other than that, highly recommend. Potato pancakes were also very yummy. They served complimentary barley tea, and had yummy banchans (kimchi radish, fish cake, and soy sauce pickled onions). The waitress (daughter of the owner-her mother) was very kind and patient with all my questions. Affordable, delicious, authentic, with good portion sizes.
