We went here on a Sunday early afternoon. It has high ceilings and many tables as well as an outdoor seating area. I was sure it would be a zoo but to my surprise there was ample space. We didn't see until we were leaving that the outdoor seating area had a small playground, which kids or toddlers might enjoy. My husband got the oaxaca burger and I got the margarita pizza with mushrooms. We also got the fried ice cream as a dessert. The pizza was a pretty large size, I was full after just 2-3 slices. I think my husband enjoyed his burger although it was pretty heavy. The bathroom had half a dozen stalls and was fairly clean. The food isn't cheap. A fountain soda was about $4. The fried ice cream was $8. The service was decent. I'm not sure how authentic the food is but we had an overall good time and would probably be back, budget willing. read more

I visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, and to my surprise it waa mostly empty. I chose to sit at the bar since it was wide open though the bar top appeared worn- possible from cleaning chemicals and could use replacement. As for the food, it waa just okay. Nothing stood out enough to warrant a long trip to Bel Air MD. However the service was quick and the bartender was friendly. I ordered both a cocktail and mocktail. The cocktail tasted similar to the mocktail didn't taste much alcohol at all for the same price. read more

I didn't even know this place existed in this little plaza but here it was nuzzled in with plenty of parking, warm inviting vibes from the outside and an outdoor patio. The place wasn't packed but the conversations filling the air below the music playing over the speaker. TVs and art spaced along the walls and a host desk as soon as you come in. I was seated within minutes by Mercio. He was a good time recommending drinks and filling me in on the taco deal for Tuesday. I started with the Rosita ( per Mercio request) and I see why it's popular on the mocktail menu! The elote de la calle was so tender with lots of lime at first I was worried about eating a whole corn but luckily they split it. The coco loco shrimp tacos were fire too filled to the brim and I loved garlic aioli! To finish the night the flan was just thing best I've had in a while and a great size. This is a place to come and enjoy a meal without feeling the need to be rushed. I'll be back to try more of this menu for sure. read more

Looking for a place to have to dine for Cinco De Mayo, I stopped at Sol Oaxaca. They've always been on my radar, given their previous location in Perry Hall that closed not too long ago. I decided to take a spot at the bar, which was a decent size with lots of seating. Since it was around 4 o'clock they hadn't gotten too busy. I figured since it was Cinco De Mayo they would have some specials for the holiday. They in fact did not, which was a bummer. I asked the bartender if they were at least doing happy hour and he said not today and proceeded to hand me their "Cinco De Mayo" menu which simply was a shortened version of their regular menu with regular prices. I thought of leaving but decided to stay for dinner anyways. I settled on a passion fruit mezcalita, chips & salsa, and pork shoulder tacos. The cocktail was alright, a little too sweet for my liking and served in a plastic cup for $12. The chips & salsa were fried fresh and nothing to write home about, but the salsa did have a nice flavor to it. The pork shoulder tacos I wasn't really a fan of. The flavor was a bit basic and didn't really give that authentic Mexican flavor. There was a dollar upcharge for flour tortillas instead of corn and to me they seemed more like a regular grocery store brand (Mission Tortilla). I finished my meal feeling very unsatisfied and empty hearted. The bartenders were pleasant during my visit. However, what warranted my two-star review was the young lady handing out samples of their housemade margarita deliberately skipped me amongst everyone at the bar and asked the group of ladies sitting right next to me if they would like a sample. Unfortunately, during this visit I was the only person of color sitting at the bar. Sol Oaxaca may be a nice spot to pop in for happy hour when they have it, however, it's not a business I would frequent again. read more

I am so shocked at how dead it was at this restaurant. It should be packed with people! Coming from California our family can appreciate their homemade chips and fresh homemade salsa. The homemade guac this place has THE BEST SPICY MARGARITA (I get mine extra spicy) the staff was very attentive and we like their el pastor tacos. Although they are not like we have had in Cali they are still tasty. They have very clean bathrooms and I'm sure the kitchen is immaculate. Hope this post helps bring more people around. read more

I've been wanting to try this place since it opened. As we sat down, we were give a bowl of chips and salsa. They were a great start!! Crispy, salty, and warm. My kids loved them and we did too. Win win! My wife and I ordered margaritas (regular and strawberry). Very good! We went as a family for dinner. They have a limited kids menu (3-4 options), but it was enough that each of my kids could order something. The prices for the main dishes were pricey, so we opted for getting a few appetizers and making a meal out of it. Guacamole was incredible! Super fresh and great portion. We asked for it spicy and loved the extra kick. We also ordered taquitos and they were fine...nothing to rave about but good. We also ordered the queso fundido with chorizo and that was amazing! Super cheesy and they come with flour tortillas to eat them with. The highlight of our meal was the tamale. Excellently seasoned! It's unlike the usual corn tamales. It's cooked in a plantain husk, so it gives it a great flavor! 10 out of work recommend the tamale!!!! I will say that when I saw the bill, I was a bit surprised. I'm new to Harford County and have been trying out lots of restaurants. There are lots of "just OK" places, but there are only a very few that are memorable, "stand out" establishments. Sol Oaxaca is one of the best I've experienced to date. The Harford County restaurant scene is mostly casual places featuring typical lunch or bar/tavern food (burgers, wings, etc.) and crabs and other Chesapeake Bay food. But it's hard to find a high quality meal in other cuisines. Sol Oaxaca is an exception. Sol Oxaca features an "interior Mexican menu" (rather than the more typical "Tex/Mex" food popularized by national chains). Their menus is filled with tasty regional dishes, nicely prepared and attractively plated. Sol Oaxaca uses fresh ingredients. Portions are generous. Alcohol is very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is pleasant. This is not just a neighborhood "nachos and taco joint. You can enjoy a fine meal here. read more

I have zero idea why this place doesn't have more good reviews. But alas the people reviewing probably enjoy Plaza Mexico or La Tolteca. We sat at the bar, we were promptly greeted and our cocktails were made and delivered. Very good, little pricey but noticed they are using top shelf liquors which if fine by me, less of a headache in the morning. The bar is spacious, with tables surrounding. They also have TV's if you want to catch a game. We started with Toms tamale, you know when you put food in your mouth and just smile and giggly because it's so good? Yep, that is what happened. Then we queso fundido with steak, think up scale queso, the addition of fresh onions, tomatoes and jalapeño were excellent. We both ordered the Pozole verde, think Mexican pho, I literally licked the bowl! So good, spicy with fresh ingredients. I could go back daily for just the soup. I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I also ordered the street tacos, carnitas. These were perfect, flavorful, fresh ingredients used, yet again, everything a street taco is supposed to be. Why no pics, well that is entirely my fault. My husband and I along with his parents decided to give this place a try after we got back from vacation. We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and the restaurant was relatively empty. We were seated quickly and were given the Sunday brunch menu which I wasn't expecting. The ambiance in the restaurant was very nice and cozy. I decided to get the steak nachos partially since I don't like Beans and it wasn't listed on the menu. To my surprise, the nachos came with a lot of beans (black beans and refried beans). I did end up eating most of the nachos trying to scrape off as much of the beans as possible, but it was disappointing. My husband pointed out this inconsistency on the menu and recommended fixing it. I'll definitely give this place another try, but I would recommend asking if a dish had an ingredient that you do not want even if its not listed on the menu. read more

We moved here from California and this is the closest to California style Mexican food that we have found since moving to the East Coast. Vegetarian tacos are good, but I wish there were more options for vegetarians (like potato tacos). The salsa trip and drinks are good too. We haven't had a bad experience with any of the food. We stopped by Sol Oaxaca on a week night and the place wasn't to crowded, we were seated right away. The place is very open, with lots of seating, including an outdoor area in the back with umbrellas for shade. They had a great happy hour special, however we missed it, but will have to come back and check it out. We ordered some cocktails and they came out fast. We ordered appetizers and they came out fast. They do not have complimentary chips and salsa here but didn't realize it until the entrees came out, otherwise we would've ordered them as well. Overall the food was good, this would be a great spot for happy hour with friends, they offer a lot of different types of margaritas and snack and shareable bites. read more

Although the restaurant looks exactly like those that were there before it, the menu offered a new twist. I ate at this location before it moved and was excited to try it again. We arrived around 8:30p on a Saturday night and it was relatively empty. The inside is on the louder side but the music was incredibly soft. It felt like it needed more music. I had a passion fruit margarita and a Paloma - I enjoyed both but neither were a must have again. For an appetizer we got the taquitos. They were fried crispy and were not greasy. I like how they smother them with goodness on the top. I ordered the empanadas for my meal and again they were smothered with goodness. The hot sauce is also delicious that I added to the top as well. My dining partner ordered a variety of street tacos which he enjoyed. His favorite was the shrimp taco followed by the chorizo. He felt like the fish one was a bit boring. Since it was not busy, he was able to order one of whichever taco he wanted as long as it was an even number. He ended up trying 6 different tacos and loved that he was able to do that. read more

My husband had the avocado chicken salad, my son had the fish with some veggies, I ordered empanadas and street corn, it just was not good! Really lacked in flavor! The street corn just had seasoning thrown on it, too much at that. Our server had a major chip on his shoulder, not warm, not really attentive, I had to track him down to pay our bill. If I could make this review six stars, I would. This new place is phenomenal. Completely different than the other Mexican restaurants in the local area. The service is absolutely on point. The cuisine is northern Mexico and slightly spices but full of flavor. All the food is fresh and the guacamole is made table side. We ordered the queso fundido along with mixed fajitas and a dish called Verde Antequida. I highly recommend any of those plates. The portions are more than generous. The salsa and chips are fresh. We spoke to the owner for several minutes to hear the story - great story. You don't want to miss this gem. We came on a Saturday night. There was live music and the bar was hopping. When I parked, I was not sure what was inside having been to 2 other incarnations of the same place. What I found was an interesting menu and an even more intriguing drink menu that might be worth sampling all on its own. As a first meal I kept things simple with the verde antequera which arrived as kind of the equivalent of a fajita bowl. The cooking and flavors here are different than what you'd typically expect at a place where the food comes out in 3 minutes. It is worth the wait and I'll try it again after I save up a few more shekels so I can more adequately venture into the drink menu. After reading some reviews, they also solved the small portions dilemma, though a huge bowl of chips comes with just a wee tartar sauce cup of tasty salsa. Fewer chips (or more salsa) fixes that. read more

This is by far Perry Hall, White marsh, Towson's and Tully in the areas best most authentic flavorful restaurant. The menu is easy to understand has options to satisfy and let your taste buds explore. The staff is amazing curious and makes you feel like like family. The chef is on point and he should the General manager is a humble and keeps up with the store. So happy that they are here. They offer vegetarian as well. We ordered guacamole, Queso fundido to start. Both great portions to share and even took a little home The carnitas tacos steak tacos also perfect. Try the Michelada and also had good wine. The quesadilla is genuinely the best and everything is made the way it's done in Mexico. I should know ! So impressed again with service. Rachel is amazing. Definitely wasn't balanced but shrimp was nicely cooked. Was excited for the homemade guacamole but it missed the mark. Wasn't spicy and each bite was more tomato than anything. This place just opened on 5/13/2022. Decided to give them a try on 5/18. The wait was 45 minutes for a table, which is understandable considering the fact that it's a new restaurant. However, after waiting for 45 minutes and asking about our table, they said they had written down the wrong phone number so we never got the call / text that our table was ready. I'm realizing their error, they did put us back at the top of the wait list and we were seated within about 5 minutes. There were plenty of open tables but not enough staff working. I would have assumed that a brand new restaurant would be fully staffed. I ordered a margarita which was $9 and in a short glass. The flavor was terrible. My friend ordered taquitos and asked for no sauce, but they told her that no sauce wasn't an option (mind you, there were different options of sauces so I'm not sure why no sauce wouldn't be an option). We also ordered a burrito and I got an order of taquitos as well. The burrito had no flavor and 1 random piece of shrimp inside. The taquitos were inconsistent and flavorless. One of the orders of taquitos had avocado on top, and the other did not. The menu did not say anything about avocados on the taquitos (there was only 1 option for taquitos). The chicken inside the taquitos was dry. They didn't have tea (I like to order vodka with unsweetened tea), nor did they have tacos on their menu. I understand that they are new and working out some kinks; however, I doubt I'll be back from this awful first impression. read more

Had to be the worst service I have ever experienced. My wife and I wanted to try this place for our Friday date night; as it is only a few weeks old and looks good. We walked in were greeted by the hostess' and loved the layout and decor. They told us it was a 15 min wait, no problem. We decided to go to the bar instead. Sat down at two dirty spots, only seats open (left over glassware, silverware, and napkins). 5 mins later one of the 3 bartenders greeted us and gave us waters, mind you he didn't clean the spot we were sitting at. We waited another 15 mins with no service or clean counter space, and then just left. As we are leaving, we see the one bartenders texting on his phone. This location has been multiple restaurants. I don't think this one will last that long either if they continue service like this. Probably won't return as there are too many other options for food who actually want our business. read more

We love this restaurant so much! The food is authentic, reasonably priced, and we haven't had anything we didn't love. I've had probably half of the menu now lol. Great happy hour specials. The tres leches is outstanding, like it's worth it to come here just for dessert. The margaritas are fantastic- with many flavor varieties and seasonings for the rim.
