We met our son and grand-children at Silver Spring to celebrate our son's 50th birthday. We had a made a reservation and they gave us a choice of tables when we arrived, which I really appreciated. We chose a round table close to the fireplace. It was a great choice - very quiet. Our son ordered the Ahi Tuna Appetizer Special, which was a generous portion of sesame-crusted tuna with two sauces. The sauces were Cusabi and Sriracha - both very spicy. For his main course, he had the Sizzlin' Steak Fajitas, which came to the table smoking - they were served with shredded lettuce, salsa, sour cream, Cheddar Jack cheese, and warm tortillas. His only complaint was that the tortillas were too small. Our grandson started with the fresh garden salad of mixed greens with cucumber, tomato and croutons with blue cheese dressing. He went all out and tried the Crisfield Burger Blackened that was topped with shrimp, crabmeat, grilled ham, Cheddar Jack cheese, and tiger sauce. It was enormous, and he devoured it all. My husband and my grand-daughter had the all-natural Black Angus Silver Spring Burger, one with gorgonzola cheese and one with American cheese. The burgers came with French fries and a pickle. They were very pleased with their burgers. I had the 1/2 portion of Sour Beef and Dumplings, but I requested a second dumpling in place of the Cole slaw. I have ordered the 1/2 portion at the other Silver Spring Mining Company location and got considerably more beef than I received this time. The flavor was very good. I was disappointed that the restaurant did nothing to help us celebrate our son's 50th birthday even though we told them when we made the reservation, and we told our server as well. Would have been nice to have offered him something!

Silver Spring Mining Co. had a rather empty business for the time of day we went in, about 5:30pm and my mother and I had the restaurant to ourselves for the most part. I always get the crab pretzel, so I already knew what I wanted; and my mother got a type of burger (I don't remember). Crab Pretzel was soft, not over cooked, and very on the spot well done with the crab meat and cheese and the pretzel because I have had some before with not enough crab meat, too much cheese, and burnt pretzel. My mother said her burger was done just right as well with very juicy flavor, just rightly cooked for how well done she wanted it, and she wouldn't change a thing for how she asked for her burger done. We also had our drinks changed a few times at just the right time as well.

Flavorful food. Ok service. We had an issue with the food server putting his thumb in the food but promptly replaced the food. The manager was helpful stating he was new and she would take care of the mishap. The sour beef and dumplings are not bad but the meatloaf burger was at best fair. We don't go here often but will go back and keep an eye on the food server fingers.

The crab pretzel is A++. The rest of the food was so-so. The softshell crab sandwich seemed very uninspired. I likely will not be back.

Service is good and they are very attentive. Our water glasses were never empty. Server very well acquainted with the menu and they even have specials off the menu. Menu doesn't have tons of choices, but makes sense when everything is prepared fresh and what is on the menu is done extremely well. First, drinks... yum! They have a terrific happy hour deal. That is worth a visit on its own. It's pretty spectacular and the drinks are great. The good news is you can get the HH without sitting at the bar. We had an Old Fashion, a Lemon Raspberry Martini, a Lemon Drop martini, a Sidecar, and a Carajillo. All were well made and delicious. The Carajillo was amazing - better than an espresso martini!! The food was wonderful. First course was the Baked Avocado, Cream of Crab soup, and the mussels which weren't on the regular menu as they were a special. The Avocado was fabulous and not too heavy. The mussels were in a delicious broth. Cream of crab was good but not worth the $21 a bowl (just average as you would get anywhere else). Second course was Filet Mignon, Shrimp and Crab, and House Made Pork Sausage Pappardelle. All were delicious and served with sides that elevated the flavors. The filet is a fav! The portions were a great dinner size and not overwhelmingly huge. We skipped dessert, but they were all great choices. We had previously had their s'mores which is a must try! They do have good coffee as well. Great location, intimate setting, nice people and a wonderful place to visit for a wonderful meal. Worth visiting. Be prepared as they are pricey (over $300 for 4 people). It's odd because their Happy Hour is just such a steal for the craft cocktails available (I guess gets you in the door). Perhaps sit at the bar for HH and just get drinks for a reasonable option. Maybe throw in a charcuterie board to snack on while enjoying the libations. For sure will be back.

They have a small menu, but sometimes that's nice not having to make so many decisions and usually that means the courses are quite good. I ordered the peartini, which was good but didn't have strong pear flavor. They brought out bread with our starters (3 pieces for 2 people - I never understand that!) which was tasty and my salad course was delicious. My husband really liked his soup too! For our entrees, he got the filet mignon which he said was excellent, but my shrimp and crab with gnocchi dish was disappointing. I think the sauce broke so it was swimming in oil. I tried to eat the pieces off the top and the shrimp were huge and gnocchi very soft and flavorful, but I couldn't get over the amount of oil. For dessert, he got the crème brûlée which he enjoyed and I got the s'mores. Mine was good, but the chocolate was very thick and heavy. I was hoping for a lighter mousse to end my meal instead. Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed our date night out, but I think the food is a bit inconsistent.

Decided to have a little "celebration" for a successful year end at our business. The good - attentive service. Called ahead and they held a table for 15 min until we arrived. Friday and it was packed. Cocktails good. Food, I've got some concerns. Appetizers - ordered cheesesteak eggrolls and octopus. Eggrolls were excellent. Octopus thought, I'm used to the presentation at Bacco's so I could do without it being cut into tiny pieces and buried in sauce. Salad - shared the kale salad. Great flavor but the ( wife's pet peeve when I serve it ), the kale was in very large chunks, could use a bit more chopping. Main Course - wife had stroganoff and I had the NY strip. I don't know what it is about Harford County but it's the last time I'll try to get a proper NY strip here. I should have known when it was only $52 on the menu. Steak & Main advertises "best steaks around" and serves the same 1/2" thin cut slice that looks like it came from Ponderosa but they charge $65 which is a ripoff. I like my steak rare and with a steak this thin, it's impossible but at least they were close. Again, stuff all over the top of the meat, a bit too much. Stroganoff - solid!! Dessert- Bananas Foster / solid!! My only gripe is the steak. We will be back for sure but I'm done trying to get one out and will just continue getting a nice cut from a butcher and treating myself at home.

Do not skip this soup! We were satisfied with all of the food choices. Every single bartender was super attentive and constantly checking to make sure that we were getting everything we wanted and needed. They were all super friendly and attentive. This is your typical bar atmosphere where everyone is friendly and people are enjoying themselves. There's two separate bar areas and ample seating around the main bar, as well in the other room. There is a back entrance and a front entrance into this restaurant. We have been to private functions here before. If you are looking for a venue for up to 150 people, check them out. They have very reasonable prices for catering and the set up of your own private room with your own private bar is a great option when hosting a gathering. The parking could be an issue as they have a very small lot. There are metered lots and streets nearby though so as long as you don't mind a super quick walk, you will be fine. I must repeat- get the cheesesteak egg rolls and the tomato soup.

Therefore the food should be first rate. Not the case for the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich I ordered. In a word, it was terrible. Basically it was greasy hamburger meat spread over a mediocre bun, with little or no detectable cheese. I through most of it away. The fries I ordered were greasy and tasteless as well. My wife had their Smash burger, and that also was mediocre at best. NOT a good experience. Needless to say, I will not be ordering any more food from their food truck, nor will I go to their main establishment.

Staff checked on us several times asking if we wanted more drinks, which we politely declined. The stage lights were incredibly bright and repeatedly flashed directly into the audience. To deal with the glare, we occasionally put on our sunglasses. Not even three songs into the set, a bouncer came charging over and informed us that sunglasses were not allowed. No explanation. No polite request. Just an unnecessary display of authority. At no point were we drunk, under the influence, disruptive, or causing any sort of problem. We were literally sitting at a table listening to the band. The irony is that the venue seemed far more concerned about a customer wearing sunglasses for a few seconds than ensuring people were actually enjoying themselves. Apparently, in this pub, wearing sunglasses to shield your eyes from blinding stage lights is a bigger issue than treating paying customers with basic courtesy and respect.
