VERY unprofessional staff. Multiple teachers got involved with student drama. The teachers had very apparent favorites. Some incidents I have witnessed/ experienced: 1) I've witnessed two students get their backpacks searched through by teachers because they didn't believe the student was telling the truth about not bringing work. One of the teachers made a student give them their phone to search through messages to find nonexistent "cyberbullying". 2) Teachers unnecessarily getting involved with student drama. This was a big problem. What's even worse is that the teacher would take the side of whoever was their favorite. They wouldn't care about hearing any of the other sides of the story. They made it a bigger deal than it actually was and made students resent each other. They didn't give us a chance to work it out ourselves. 3) The teachers would bully students. One of the teachers in particular would point out different things about students and inadvertently try to embarrass students in front of the whole class -- for no reason. 4) Teachers would force their political views on students. One of the teachers that has left the school, would show political videos (that weren't relevant to school work) to try to influence them. One time they refused to wear a mask during covid on a field trip. The other staff didn't do anything about this, which is another major issue. 5) The staff weren't productive and didn't do anything about problems within the school. One time I witnessed one student get kicked by another student and the staff didn't do anything. There were multiple instances like this where the staff wouldn't hold students accountable for their actions. Overall, several students have had bad experiences with this school. There are MANY other incidents that I will not be mentioning. I strongly do not recommend sending your child to this school. read more

My GBaby Anya, 4th grader, really has excelled in this school. She has been on the honor roll for the past two years. It is Christian based. My Anya is now learning the old testament. My only negative comment is that they need to be more consistent on communication with the honor roll selection and the why's behind large price increases. Everything should not be a charge such as charging parents $ when it is "wear jeans day" and talent shows to name only a couple. Enrollment would improve if every little thing didn't cost. read more

Very disappointed with our experience. Unprofessional. Took no responsibility in a situation where a little girl was bullied by her 5th grade teacher. When we tried to discuss and resolve to ensure it didn't happen again with another child in the future (even though we pulled her anyway) they ignored our emails. Would much rather take our chances in public school. read more

This is our first year having our child attend SCA, we love it already! The small atmosphere let's us feel like we are more part of a community. Small classes mean more 1on1 time for our child to better understand the assignments. All of the staff is so incredibly kind and caring! Looking forward to the coming years read more

Our son attended SCA (2011 & 2012) 6th & 7th Grades. It's very affordable, diverse, uniforms, small class sizes, hot lunch program and a before and after school program. The education is sound! He had the best 6th grade teacher Mrs. Rafferty! She was so kind to our son, she helped him get through some very tough emotional times there. The Director Mr. Reed was an awesome role model and his wife a wonderful kind lady who heads off the preschool program. That being said, This school was not a good fit for our family. The environment was pure Toxic!!! There was a lot of nepotism and favoritism from the staff. Many of the student's belonged to teachers and staff, (I don't think they paid tuition but were given all of the privileges) They were chosen for the fun activities, always the same faces for the pictures on websites or poster or to represent the school. Always the same kids to be helpers or given certain privileges. This irritated me because my husband and I were so impressed with their educational program. We gave so much of ourselves to help make the school a success. We supported the school by volunteering our time above and beyond what was required, and were generous with donations. I joined the PTO and became very active, worked most all of the school's events, volunteered in the lunch room, volunteered to drive and chaperon every field trip for our son's class, donated supplies to his classroom, paid for entire classes to attend field trips, offered my services for free as a air brush tattoo and face painting Artist for their carnivals and dances, organized and paid thousands to sponsor a Pumpkin Patch at the mall, complete with pony rides, vendors, a petting zoo, food and entertainment even had a Groupon for online sales, had post cards printed at my own expense to market it. Didn't receive much support from the other families to help pull off the event. One of the parents deliberately tried to sabotaged the fundraiser by getting other parents to refuse to participate, She even scheduled a birthday party for the opening day of the event so that the kids who were suppose to help out would be at the party instead of supporting the fundraiser for the school. So Sad! We were very vested in our son's education and well being. I felt we were treated like outsiders by students and other parents who had been there since their kids were in preschool. Some of the parents were very negative and juvenile. The environment felt toxic. Very odd for a Christian school. The kids were not being taught Christian values. Some of the parents even facilitated their children's bad behavior, the staff didn't support us at all. They made excuses for the kids that they liked. It was terrible. Our son felt left out and it was hard to watch him not have any friends or feel accepted in such a small environment. They would plan outings & parties on weekends but would not invite him but come to school and talk about all the fun they had on weekends. It was a really hard time for him and some of the other new students as well. SCA wasn't good for his emotional well being. As his parents we were divided about removing him because it was a good education. We had hoped things would change as the years past but the atmosphere became even more toxic the following year. Summer of 7th grade we moved to the Travis School District. He met lots of friends in our new neighborhood, he begged us to attend Golden West with his new friends. My husband wasn't onboard with moving him to a public school however as a mother, I wasn't wiling to send my son back there. He flourished in the Travis School District. I watched all of his pain melt away. He played Varsity Football for Vanden, worked hard with tutors to graduate with a 3.4 GPA. I'm proud that, he is now in his 2nd year at Albany State University, an HBCU in S.E Georgia. He is still in contact with the many friends that he met during his time in the Travis school district. I guess what doesn't break you makes you stronger. I still think it is a good school, I believe the school has a solid educational program. Those kids are long gone, hopefully it is a friendlier environment. I liked the staff, the problem was the families that made it unbearable and their lack of response to bullying. It wasn't just our son... quite a few children experienced this at SCA. read more

I took the tour back in March. Love what I saw and submitted an online application. After submitting my application, I have not heard back from the school. I submitted supplemental paperwork in May. I've left voicemails, email, messages about my application status. Still this day I have not heard anything. My child doesn't attend the school and I can't get the principal to call me. I'm no longer interested in my child attending this school. Hopes this helps someone else from wasting their time. read more

Not sure where to even start! Finding this school was life changing. Not only for the good of our daughter(who is going on her 3rd year here), but for the greater good of our entire family. The warmth and welcoming we felt the first time we walked into the office was so refreshing. You know that sense that moms have when things don't feel right and when they do feel right? Well this mom felt this was the right place. We toured another school and the difference here at Solano Christian was so different. A good different. Going into our 3rd year here, everyone from the staff, teachers, and even other parents we have met along the way have become extended family. Teachers are amazing! Classes are small, so students are getting more time with the teacher when they need some extra help. My daughter also loves the field trips they get to go to! She was able to go to the Western Railway Museum, Jelly Belly Factory, and the Sacramento Museum just to name a few. Every year around January, she asks about the Summer Camp program. We have never made her go to summer camp, she asks to go voluntarily and looks forward to it every year! Times are hard in this world right now, but it is wonderful how we can all come together for the future of our kids and for our school! My only regret is not finding this school sooner! read more

I attended SCA from 4th grade to 8th grade. Tomorrow I am graduating high school from BCMHS with high honors. At first the small environment was strange, but I found my home at SCA. Teachers such as Mrs. Q and Mrs. Gipson have become an integral part of my success. Mrs. Q treated me like a young adult in 5th grade and really hammered home the importance of education. Mrs. Gipson taught Algebra 1 and juggled 6,7, and 8th grade math. She is an incredible teacher. She helped me find my love in math and I excelled. I ended up taking AP Calculus in High School and passed with a B+. Mrs. Q is truly one of the most inspirational and influential teachers in my life. Even as a high schooler who does sports (captain of the basketball team), studying for my high level AP classes (Calculus, Spanish, and English), and balancing a normal teenage social life, I stayed in contact and visited Mrs. Q and Mrs. Gipson. They have been a very important piece in my education and helping me figure out what I want to do in life. Teachers like these are hard to find and I feel bad for all the unlucky kids who did not get to have them as a teacher. My friends who attended SCA with me are now headed to Yale, Ive Leagues, UC's, and CSU's respectively. SCA sets students up for success and allow for an extremely strong foundation to be form based on morals, principles, and God. Take it from someone who still hangs out daily with his friends that he made at SCA in high school and now college, the memories and bonds made here are infinite and forever. If education, building character, and a strong rapport between student and teacher are essential to a school you would want your child to attend, then SCA is what you are looking for. My parent's sacrificed everything for me to have a private Christian education and everything that I have learned still sticks with me today. From the poems Mrs. Q made us memorize, the quick math shortcuts that Mrs. Gipson taught, and the fun times and memories at recess; SCA was and is my home. "I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself." A poem from 5th grade that Mrs. Q made us memorize. A simple D.H. Lawrence quote/poem. She made it very clear, self pity was not allowed in 5th grade. Everyone struggles, however it was about learn to deal with it and overcome. These lessons taught at a young age helped to mature and instill a work ethic that money cannot buy. Don't think twice.
