Journey Roofing - Roofing pieces, nails and plastic roofing packaging which caused rain water damage to enter between the roof and the soffit.

Journey Roofing and its owner Tom Ross, replaced the roof on the house we own. A few months later,…read moreduring a rain, the rainwater came into the house and went between the interior and exterior walls and on the wood floor. I then contacted Mr. Ross and explained what happened. He said he would send someone out to look at it. The crew came out and they said they couldn't find any leaks. I then looked closely at the problem, and found that the downspout had a bulge in it, and was separated at the seams. I took the downspout apart and found that it was clogged. The reason it was clogged was that there were pieces of shingle, dozens of rusted roofing nails and pieces of plastic from the roofing packaging which caused the downspout to clog. I took a pictures of the debris. I sent Mr. Ross pictures of the debris that clogged the gutters. He stated in an email "I agree the roofing debris in the downspout is definitely on us. I will reimburse you for any costs that you have to get it fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience." When I sent him the invoice, which was for a few thousand dollars that I had already paid to repair the damages, he reneged on reimbursing me for the damages. He then came up with the excuse that it was a pre-existing problem, and wanted to see a full report of my home buyer's inspection report with hopes of finding something in it that might excuse him from the responsibility for paying. I told him that there's nothing in the homebuyers report that supports that this was pre-existing, and that that report is proprietary and has private information contained in it.. When he turned me down for reimbursement, I then tried compromising with him, and tried negotiating with him on paying a portion of the damages. He wouldn't do that either. I'm not a litigious person, but I have been wronged and cheated. Mr. Ross not only went back on his word, that's bad business.

I was asking about a way to add an air gap on our existing roof because our house doesn't have an attic and we got alot of ice damming, even with heat cables. Tom recommended an efficient and more economical way than adding new framing, and the crew got it done. We're very thankful for the new and improved roof, and I'd recommend them to anyone

Pro Shield - Finished roof install

A recent hailstorm had trashed our class 4 shingles, and we needed to replace the roof. Our…read moreCraftsman-styled home has a fairly complex roof design with several gables and joined angles with varying pitches, so we were highly selective when we chose to use Pro Shield LLC for our roof replacement. We didn't want your typical roofing "storm chasers" who saturate your neighborhood with promises that they can't deliver to do this job. We really wanted someone who we could trust and would be around for this project. To start with, the communication and timeliness of this team from project start to completion were excellent. When questions arose or suppliers had issues, Pro Shield was prompt in their responses and notifications. This team was also proactive in making sure that I understood the basic processes involved with tear-off and replacement. I didn't realize how many elements make up a roof, and I trusted the ProShield team to handle the details. They provided excellent information about the materials and choices of shingles to get not only the strongest protection but also the best curb appeal! The ProShield team was especially considerate when doing the tear-off, ensuring that furniture, plants, cars, and most importantly, people and pets were safe in the process. We have a lot of mature trees, and during the tear-off, one of our trees was damaged when some materials slid off a steep pitch in the wrong direction. It was an accident, and the Pro Shield team called it out, showed me the damage, and provided an acceptable resolution.  Delivery of the shingles was a big job, and the ProShield team worked closely with the delivery crew to safely place the new shingles on the roof. They were incredibly diligent with making sure that the driveway could support the truck load and the appropriate placement of the pallets of shingles. The project did get extended by half a day due to the supplier not having all the shingles ordered, but the ProShield team removed the unnecessary equipment and tools to minimize any disruption. The process was impressive! During the roof replacement, the Pro Shield team identified an area that was prone to leakage and what they did to mitigate and prevent any future leakage in that area. They also improved the ventilation of our attic and brought our vents and soffits up to code, providing guidance for other improvements if we were interested. No hard selling, great value, timely with their work, great communication, and quality job performance - we are very happy with our choice, and we have received several compliments on the new roof!

A couple of hours later, the serviceman called and said they could come now. They came and looked, a very minor repair. Said they would go back and get the matching shingle and be back to day to repair. So I was very happy about that kind of response time. I'll leave another review when they finish. UPDATE: Well, they came right back, put the new shingles up and nailed down a couple of nails they found that were backing out and were done and gone in an hour! Cost hardly anything!

Which they came out and repaired. I had another leak and figured it was this again. Had them come out. Found out the leak was with my chimney. No big deal. Except they will charge you 600$ for an hour of a guy standing on your roof running your hose onto your leak. They won't tell you it's 600$. Then Harley the front desk person will berate you and call you names and say things like "I wish I didn't have to pay my bills". Since I've had more leaks in my brand new roof in other spots. I won't dare call them again because I'll just get charged 600$ each time. I wouldn't even call them if the entire roof fell off and blew away. Avoid at all costs.
