I never thought much about Solano Garbage and the way they run their business until today ... I reached out to complain about an issue. Representative Katina (spelling ?) assisted me and went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. She took the time to listen to my concern and cared enough to fix the issue. Called on Thursday for a pick up because our freezer broke. Not wanting a bunch of frozen food to sit in the garbage can for 4 days. We paid for the extra pickup on Friday. Friday around 2:30 pm I called to make sure they wouldn't forget us. The receptionist reassured me we were on the driver's route, and he had until 6pm to pick it up. At 7:30, I went out to bring the can up from the curb. SHOCK, it wasn't picked up. Now, it will sit through the weekend because our scheduled pickup is Monday. I WILL get a refund for the pickup paid for but I never received! Hope that doesn't turn into a hassle! SO IRRESPONSIBLE!! read more

I put my engine oil out the night before, in the one gallon milk jugs that they supply, and they just left them at the curb. I guess I have to throw the jugs of oil in my recycling bin to get them picked up.‍ I'm really getting my money's worth out of this clown show company! read more

As usual the truck missed my recycling container. So far 4X this 2022. I called customer no service at around 8 AM after noticing that my neighbor recycle bins were empty. First: pay your bill before it comes! Even when the bill comes to Fairfield -it's late! And they expect prompt payment otherwise they will send you to collections and stop collecting garbage. I had a rental property I sold; called them to stop service - they said ok. I still recieved bills. I called again, they said send us proof you sold the home. I did. I recieved a call back letting me know they recieved the proof and will reverse the fees. Then I recieve a collections notice!!! WTF?!?! I called the collections agency and leave multiple messages - no response back. Today I call again and they say oh we reversed only some of it and you owe $19... UHM WHAT?! Needless to say, while I got rid of Solano County months ago - they won't get rid of me! Recology is so much better... read more

they showed up on trash day after our trash was taken and took two of our containers. we have four Other kids and two adults plus animals). didn't ask them to do that. they then failed to replace them despite multiple phone calls in a timely fashion. they agreed to get back to me by phone within 24 hours. never heard back-3 days later. still no response and the earliest they will deliver Is on trash day. they took the cans. didn't bother to check to see if they were st the right address (my wife was home). I hsve the 'escalation' team supposedly going to call me over the last three days. the worst customer service I have had in a decade. read more

Real nice to see the garbage truck driver gabbing on her cell phone while dumping cans in the truck, leaving cans knocked over on the street, and spilling garbage all over the place. She then just drives on, because God forbid she get out and pick up the can or the garbage she spilled. ***Billing from this company is a JOKE. Pay your bill online, the amounts listed are different than the paper bill you get, which is ALSO different from the amount you'll be told when you call "customer service". I paid online, and 3 days later got 2 different bills with 2 different amounts in the mail on the same day. This happens routinely. I then call and ask which is correct, and am told a totally different amount, or told my account balance is zero, and they cannot figure out why I'd get those 2 bills. One rep actually accused my of LYING once about paying my bill over the phone the month prior, because I couldn't produce the "confirmation number". Yeah, I'm really gonna keep that number once the debit clears my checking account?! Then she changed her mind and decided I was lying about paying over the phone, that I must've somehow just paid someone ELSES account online, because it COULDN'T be possible they had screwed up my billing yet again. I hate this company, but have zero other options for garbage pick up. And they KNOW it. Poor service, poor attitude, and their website will just lead you in circles trying to find the damn holiday pickup schedule. Ridiculous. read more

Some one parked too close to one of my cans so the driver wasn't able to pick it up. SGC informed me with a message a few hours later what had happened. I immediately called back and scheduled a "one time" free pick up. I was told they would be here by end of day Thursday or Friday to pick it up. Friday rolls around, its 1100 and still no pick up. I gave them a call and they said someone will definitely be there to pick it up. SCG never picked it up. Called again today and they said driver picked it up and I informed them they hadn't. Trash can wasn't over filled and nothing was obstructing trucks path. Now they're saying Monday they'll pick it up. Don't believe a word they tell you. Their service is trash. read more

Disappointed.... got a new home and asked about starting services and ending service within two places. Representative was very dull, not customer service friendly at all. She seemed very bothered that I asked questions and then long paused, huffed when I wanted to fix this service with her now. She said she had to get her screens up and put me on hold. Shouldn't you be ready to go once you pick up the phone. Ask the customer how they can help you, not the other way around. I HUNG UP before she could return, if she even planned on it. You try to do the right thing. In my case, I had 10 gallons of oil I wanted to recycle. Which they supposedly do. They would NOT take my two 5 gallon home Depot Orange containers. They said they can't see the oil, don't know what else could be in the oil, Nope!!! It's beyond ridiculous. You can look right in the big opening and see it's OIL!! You pour it and see that it's OIL. I ended up going to two auto parts stores. Each would take 5 gallons from me. Then there were some other Chemicals I wanted to get rid of. Nope they couldn't take any of that stuff either. They really go out of their way to make people want to say screw this and dump the waste any old place. If you want to get people to just dump their waste into some field someplace, Solano Garbage is making sure people are driven to do just that. See what they want is the nice stuff that they can sell and make money from. Nice Used oil makes them money as they can sell it. Same for Aluminum Cans and Plastic Bottles, and even clean Cardboard. Anything they can't just turn around and sell, they won't take it. You figure out what to do with it. Good luck!!!! read more

I put my xmas tree out 3 weeks in a row never picked it up come to find out u cant put it in a trash can with the lid not fully closed or u need to cut it . its says if the tree is 8ft tall u have to cut it my tree is 6ft so how does that make sense. the lady even said every year they change how they pick them up ive put it in the bin on the side still nothing so now i have to cut it in half and put it back in the bin . this is crazy and couldnt let me know how to properly dispose the tree ??? I just moved to Fairfield, so everything is already hectic. Last thing I want to have to worry about is my garbage. First week they didn't pick up my garbage--understandable because I didn't leave enough space for the claws to pick it up. They left a note. From my perspective, they sit in their trucks all day, they can climb down for 3 minutes to put it in front of the claw to haul it away still. Second week, they didn't pick up my garbage. This time everything was perfect. Plenty of space and arrows towards the street. There was no note left behind. I have the small waste bin, so it's bad enough I have two weeks of waste already in there, but to go on for the third week.. .no way! Customer service was rude as well. After explaining to Jennifer the situation, she gave me a response with an attitude and after I said, "Thank you kindly, " her response was, "mhmm". Not professional at all. read more

Really terrible to work with these people. Everyone from the billing department to the people who "pick up" the garbage, all of it, a terrible thing to have to deal with. They can't seem to get their auto pay to work correctly, and then it becomes the customers fault. Email them, they write back and obviously did not read the email because their answers were just completely off. The garbage half the time is not completely empty and the carriers are careless, garbage flies down the street and they don't even pick it up. They make a mess. They are just bad. It is a shame that these people are not more embarrassed about how they interact with the public. read more

They were suppose to change out 1 cart to a larger size and did not, they never called and never showed up. I called back and they gave me the wrong date again to exchange to a larger cart. Then finally they came out on a non scheduled date and brought the same size cart. Very poor performance and makes the City of Fairfield look really bad!! read more

Just terrible. My 90-year-old mother lives alone and still has all her marbles, but she misses a few things due to profound deafness. She asked me to call Solano Garbage for her (I live a day's drive away), but the woman on the phone was entirely unprofessional and unhelpful. Even though I know EVERYTHING about the account -- the account number, my mother's name, address, phone, password, etc. etc., she still refused to discuss anything with me. I made the mistake of identifying myself as my mother's daughter and that was that. I called to confirm the balance and MAKE a payment, not to defraud anyone, so I can't think what the woman was afraid of, apart from having to do a little actual work. Shameful. read more

phone staff are helpful but its hard to get through the automated system to get a human. When I do, they are very polite and knowledgeable.

RE: Hannah N.'s review: The garbage men service over 1000+ homes a day EACH. So if you don't leave enough space for them to service you (from my perspective, common sense) then they leave it. If they had to get out of the truck even 500 times a day for inconsiderate customers, they would never finish their route. read more
