3.5 Stars. This place has a lot of pros: Clean, large, bright. I went on a Friday afternoon, and someone could give me a pedicure right away. The massage chairs were comfortable, and my technician was friendly. I brought my own polish, so I can't speak to their polish selection. Like most nail salons these days, they have different levels of pedicures, so for more money you can add more pampering, but I just went with the basic pedicure. I liked the young woman who did my pedicure, however, she nicked me pretty badly when she was cutting my big toe cuticle, and it wouldn't stop bleeding. Accidents happen, I totally get that, but my big toe was sore all weekend, which was really a drag. That being said - I would definitely come back here because this first visit showed them to be a lot better option than many of the other nail salons in this part of town. read more

I am a licensed nail technician and I work in this plaza as well I went down to this salon to get my nails soaked off simply because it takes me too long to do them myself Started off fine , the staff was friendly throughout my experience however i couldn't help to notice many things while I was sitting there that were unsanitary they used already used drill bits and files on me and clients around me , and they did not know how to do a proper soak off at all I tried recommending to scrape the acrylic off my nail but they did not do so , I left with acrylic still all over my nails worst soak off I have ever gotten. read more

She did a mediocre job on my pedicure as she struggled to file my nails evenly, because she was talking on her Bluetooth the entire time. This experience was not relaxing and very annoying. No stars is what I wanted to put, but you had to choose a star. This wouldn't be an issue, but they weren't that friendly but that's OK. However, the manicure came out looking OK. But, by the time I left my fingers were killing me. They had to remove gel from MY fingernails, not fake nails. She kept slipping and cutting the sides of my nails and the cuticles. I actually had to pull my hand away a few times. WTH!!! I said no manicure thank goodness. But a few times she was supposedly trying to get some hanging skin off and actually took more skin off. I didn't notice until we were into it, that I do not think they sanitize their utensils (but I could be wrong). However, at the end of the manicure she stuck the utensils back into the little package they came out of and put them in her desk. That afternoon I could barely use my fingers to touch or pickup anything because they were so sore. Every one of my nails were swollen around the nail bed and my thumb has chunks missing under and around the nail. Than night I soaked them in warm salt water and an old antibiotic that I emptied into the water. I did that for three days now. They are very dry but feel much better, NOT better. If I had done nothing they might have gotten infected. Needless to say, I will not go back there and I will NOT tell anyone to go there Solar Nails 14455 N. My go to place in the Tampa area.. they are always welcoming and show personal care for their returning customers. Family owned and you feel the passion and quality through the work and scheduling. Never really a wait time and usually will take a "last" minute appointment/walk-in. The pedicure chairs are new and very clean along with the rest of the salon. They do use pedi covers and clean directly after every customer. I was convinced to use the dip gel that offers 8-13 different minerals and vitamins, that actually promotes healthy nails without stripping anything harmful away from your rest period between nails. Prices are always reasonable. Definitely would recommend if you are in the area for a great pampering session. read more

He paid attention to detail, listened to what I wanted and made good conversation. He even recommended a great Vietnamese restaurant which was great! I came into this nail spa one evening and requested a pedicure and manicure. When I first walked in I noticed how sanitary and clean the establishment was. It was a big salon it had pretty chandeliers threw out into separate sides one half of the room was for pedicures and the other half manicure tables. They also have private rooms toward the back for waxing services. Im so glad a friend had recommended I come here and try this and I'm so glad I listened. I opted for the International Pedicure for $55, and yes definitely a pricer one but so worth it. First thing each basin is lined with a plastic liner for hygiene purposes then the water is brought to the right temperature. This experience included a excellent leg and foot massage, hot stone, hot towel wrap, scrub, paraffin booties, etc. I truly enjoyed my time here and made the most of it by adding a gel manicure to my services. While I was in the massage chair I was offered wine in which I declined and choose a bottled water instead. I highly recommend the experience to anyone looking to just relax and unwind while giving themselves a little pamper time. read more

I've been going to Pink and White Nail Salon since I got here. Had a great Nail Tech named Peter, however after he left, the Salon never took care of me the right way. I was on my way to Pink and White Nails, but I wanted to find somewhere new and get it done the right way. I looked on Yelp and found this place. As soon as I walked in, the place was absolutely gorgeous! I was immediately brought to the owner, Don, who is a very nice individual. He did an awesome job on my nails and was very courteous. I wanted to get my eyebrows done, and I was afraid that they were going to be too busy. However they took me right away and did an awesome job as well. Well, I must say, that I was with my nail tech in New York for over 25 years. Then thinking I had the awesome nail tech Peter, I was absolutely wrong. Now I've got a new place, a new nail tech, and a place I can relax! If you're looking for a new place to go to, this is it! I have been going to Solar for a while and my gel and acrylic usually lasts about 5 weeks. Typically its a 5 star place. I went in 2 weeks ago and the place looked different (remodel) and I did not recognize any of the staff. I decided to go ahead with my normal. Last week, my nail color started peeling and now they are lifting. I noticed while they were doing them, it was not a similar process and it was super rushed. I am not sure if the salon changed owners/ management. I really hope they haven't. I want to go back and see if it was just 1 bad experience. The best pedicures! I love how they're are so many selections for pedicures. The Indonesian is my favorite which includes a coconut milk bath and paraffin wax for only $35! I went a couple weeks ago to get dip nails and a pedicure. The lady who did my pedicure was very nice and did a good job. The woman who did my nails, on the other hand, was not. First, she chopped my nails with the drill that they use for smoothing out acrylics (even though I said I only wanted them filed a bit). She didn't even speak to me until she cut my cuticle with the same drill. Said it was because my old polish was lifting. The next two times she cut my cuticles, she said it was because my skin is too thin? I get my nails done like clockwork every two weeks, and my "thin skin" has never been issue. She finished off the appointment by interrogating me about where I usually get my nails done and trying to have me bring my mom next time I get my nails done there. Yeah, no thanks. read more

Came in to get a pedicure with my boyfriend and left with a bloody nail. Decided to try out this place considering the good reviews on Yelp. Everything was going really well until the Boss came along and ruined everything. Upon arrival I was greeted very professionally and told them that I wanted to get a pedicure, take off my acrylics, and do a gel manicure. So the boss was well aware that I had acrylics and they needed to be SOAKED while I get a pedicure. Nancy (Nguyet) started my pedicure and did a phenomenal job she was very detail oriented and gave an awesome massage and did really good polishing my toes. If I could separately rate just her I would give 5 stars. Tina did my boyfriends nails and although we did pay extra for things that we didn't ask for she delivered my boyfriend rates 5 stars for her services. Here is where everything goes sour : Halfway through with my pedicure the boss finally informs Nancy that I needed to take off my acrylics. What they don't know is that I speak and understand Vietnamese fluently and I hear Nancy saying she does not know how to take a acrylics off. I then hear a gentlemen a voice suggesting to drill off the top layers of acrylic and for Nancy to get a bowl of acetone so I can soak my nails but then the boss says she'll just show Nancy to take off the acrylics using a separate nail and popping them off. At that point I should have known better but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Boy was I wrong for doing so. Everyone, nail techs and clients alike, KNOW that no matter how long or short of a time frame you have acrylics on they will ALWAYS be thin if there is acrylics on top so she should have just soaked my nails after looking at them. Nancy even said in Vietnamese wow her set looks brand new, implying that it'll hurt when she pops off the acrylics. After realizing that my nail was bleeding the boss did apologize but continue to just pop off he rest. Fortunately for me only one nail ended up bleeding. I also found out AFTER being rung up that the boss had upgraded my boyfriend's, who can't really tell the difference between regular and deluxe manicure because it was his FIRST one, manicure to a deluxe. Last time I checked we are the paying customer and WE are the only ones who should be making decisions about which manicure and pedicure we would like. What if I didn't have the money come checkout? Would it be my fault or HERS that I couldn't pay? Seriously check yourself Boss lady. I just feel bad for Nancy because she was the one who had to attempt and fix the mistakes that her boss made. I appreciate Nancy trying to get her boss to discount me after she butchered my nail but the boss insisted on charging me MORE just to take off my nails. First she said to Nancy while taking my nails that it will be an additional 5 dollars to take off my nails but when Nancy asked her again before cashing me out she said just charge her 12. 12 dollars for taking off my acrylics and shaping and light buff of my natural nail. I understand that you want your business to thrive but if you don't value and care about the condition or state of your clients nails and only care to up sell, your business will never ever thrive. read more

I did get cut while the gentleman was doing my nails but they put some type of solution on it that burned like the Dickens. I just prayed that my finger wouldn't fall off. Oh well lol.
