Worst experience possible. Took longer than quoted by 1 month Windows were installed by inexperienced crew of half wits Some windows were installed incorrectly They damaged our vinyl siding in many spots They tried to charge us for 18 Windows when they only installed 16 as they forgot to order 2 They installed our door wrong and it leaks into house We are missing stops and plugs on several Windows There is caulk all over siding and they even got it on my wife's car They damaged our drywall in several spots They caulked my shutters to the house. They did not install j channel around new Windows only caulk ....which was dripping down the side of the house the next morning when I got up. Leaving huge open gaps between Windows and siding and a gross mess down our siding They did not reinstall all shutters only some poorly and caulked to Windows and house. They left all the stickers on the Windows, caulk smears and hand prints. We were told they wash all Windows when complete. We picked up broken glass and screws all over our yard after they left. Through repeated calls to owner, LEO the lying salesman and the office they repaired a few things,....but we still,have broken and cracked vinyl and tons of issues. No one in this company communicates within or has any professionalism. Confusion is rampant and customer service is void We were straight out lied to by Leo when he told us they to not use subscontractors and the workers show up and tell us they are subcontractors...Leo said they would make needed repairs for Windows to fit right and that they would need 2 days to complete..,,they showed up at 11am and left at 9pm...in the dark. They asked to be paid which we did...but I could not see the completely horrific installation until the next morning in the light. I was shocked....it is the single worst job I have ever seen. The owner said they are having growing pains but never stood behind his promises or work...this company should be sued and is incompetent, impolite and a rip off.... Windows are nice...but solar shield orders them from CSW so you can get these Windows but hire another professional company to install and save your self the agony. We paid $6300....feel ripped off. We were so excited to get our new Windows...,.but we're left disappointed and sad. Solar shield , Leo and the owner you should be ashamed...and being a top producing Realtor I am telling everyone my story of working with you....and yes showing them the photos of damage and your joke of an install. What a disappointment this company turned out to be....It is a long story starting with promises that were not kept, delays and finally improper installation of windows. First off our sales person LEO told us it would be 8 weeks for windows to be installed....We never received updates and the windows were not installed until approx 14 weeks since order. We had to call to get updates and the sales person never checked up on progress of order or job. They also forgot to order 2 windows yet tried to get us to sign off on job and pay for all 18 windows when only 16 were installed!!!!! Promises were made that even if there were any repairs needed to be made to install windows properly that they would be done...They did not do this and a few of our windows were tilted somewhat. We were also told they Solar Shield uses their own installers and NOT sub contractors....We got a group of sub par sub contractors to do our installation. The job was horrible they damaged our vinyl siding, used CAULK instead of j channel around the windows....Sadly when they finished up it was dark out so we could not see their work, however the next morning when I went outside I found caulk DRIPPING out of the gaps between the windows and the vinyl siding...right down the side of the house. They actually caulked our shutters to the house and to the windows!!!!! It is quite possibly the worst workmanship I have ever seen! Through many many calls, appointments set (some they showed up for some they did not) employees coming back and speaking with the owner we did get SOME things fixed however we are left with damaged vinyl in some areas (cracked , split or smashed) , Caulk smudges and horrible workmanship. They did replace patches of the siding but the color is not the same so it looks horrible...We still have a few windows not installed correctly, missing stops, caulk smudges and drips, shutters actually caulked to the windows and some shutters not put back up. We are going to have to have another company do repair work and I guess replace the siding as water is now getting in the holes and cracks they left. The owner did admit to us that they are currently having issues with employees as they have grown faster than they thought they would....That they do hire sub contractors, that they have not been able to find good installers and that they have some issues to work out. Sadly these issues show up clearly on our install and our large investment which I give a fail and 1 star. As for follow up , customer service and communication it was dis jointed, confused (no one knew what others said or what was going on) and almost comical. The window quality is good no complaints for that..But you can buy CWS from a company who will do better . Save yourself the issues and the pain. read more

I called out 3 different companies and ultimately chose Solar Shield not only because they had the best price but they were the only company that didn't try to 'sell' me. They took their time and went over all of my options and made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. The sales process was super easy and I never once felt pressured. On the day of the installation the owner showed up while the windows were being installed to ensure everything was going well. THE OWNER! I've never had an owner of a company show up while work was being done to check on things. I was extremely impressed by this! This company really gave me an amazing experience from start to finish. Complaint about Solar Shield Windows of Tarpon Springs Florida. Been waiting for Windows for 14 weeks. On June 20th we signed a contract for our whole house to get windows installed and paid them a deposit. Today we called the company and they told us they are in bankruptcy and that we will be getting a letter from their attorney explaining that another company will be taking over their accounts and we will have to wait another 3 months for our windows to be installed. It took 8 months to get the windows and only after much prompting. The windows failed county inspection and in spite of promising to remedy that they procrastinated till they shut their doors leaving myself and some 50+ other customers unsatisfied. Jordan Richardson and Douglas Andrasik are both scammers and conmen. We paid them $4,150 back on May 18th as a deposit for 15 windows. Since then, we cannot get anyone to return our calls or emails. It has now been almost 20 weeks! And nothing. I called the manufactures they said they use for window production and was told that they are NOT a distributor and never have been. If you call their offices, you will only get an answering service and then on one will call you back. They are still taking people's deposits with no intention of ever delivering any windows. I have now filed formal complaints with the Florida Attorney General's office and the Department of Business Professional Regulation. I do not expect to get my windows or my deposit back but I hope to put a stop to these two crooks so they stop stealing other peoples money. Now doing business as Storm Tek. After waiting 4 months for my door, they finally installed. I, unfortunately, paid in full because I did not see the problem til after they left. There is light & rain coming in on both sides of the door near the bottom. Initially, Joe & Jordan both said they would take care of the problem. That was over a month ago. I now, repeatedly, call to try to get a status from owner David Ramsey, worker's Jordan Richardson & Joe Caruso, but they do not answer or return calls. The Solar Shield windows and doors are great. Working with the company was a nightmare. I put a down payment down 10/25/15 with an oral statement that I could expect my windows to be in by December. The project was begun in November. However, after this first part of the installation I was not fully satisfied. The installers left white caulking and pain dripping on the dark brown frames of my windows. The company indicated that they do not paint. However, I pushed the issues as the quality of the work was substandard. They did agree to paint if I purchased the paint. I did that and they did finally paint on 5/27. The first part of the installation was incomplete. The installers did not explain how to operate parts of the windows and did not even tell me that one side of the French Doors were to be locked and how to do it. The initial installers left dirty fingerprints all over my walls and the new window frames. This was corrected on 5/27. Between November and May I contacted Solar Shield several times and was told the job was waiting on a door for completion. They purchased a door at a local store on 5/27. It was not the door ordered and I had to provide the locks. Because I was persistent I was accused of being hostile. I was upset, but not hostile. Back in November year 2015 I signed up to have my windows replaced as of today September the 15th of year 2016 the job has not been completed so its 10 months. The first issue was taking out my original kitchen windows before opening the boxes to see if the new windows were correct as they started to put them in me & my wife noticed they were wrong we had them stop & I called the office when I told them the situation and I was not going to pay them the remaining balance the VP threatened to pull his people off the job & gave me the customer a hard time so of course I gave in because I couldn't have a kitchen with 3 windows in & 2 without windows I wont go into all the money details however as of today we are out a lot of money. I had to fill out a form for my window changes with the HOA because everything has to match the other condo's the sales rep knew this & Solar had a copy I was approved and the two sides conversed & we received the go ahead I say this because when they came back to fix the major issues they stated to put in the wrong grids so we stopped them it is supposed to be 6 grids they put in 4 grids so as of today we have 3 windows with 4 grids & 2 windows with no grids this incomplete work was done back in March. I tried to get the 4 grids approved because I just wanted this mess to end it was voted down by the board I would like to add that I am a board member so I abstained on the vote. After a month or two I was promised new windows however they are not replying back to my e-mails or phone calls I could go on & on with everything we had to go through plus we are so stressed out over this no senior citizen should have to go through this so with no end in sight I'm going to another company to finish what they couldn't. One more thing is I had to get the first inspection done by me because they weren't getting back to me plus I got help on a letter of Commencement because that was not filed by Solar Windows so that cost me money so I got a date & time and my neighbor was there for us because we were back in New Jersey guess what it failed turns out the installer used Dry Wall Screws in the windows I thought I needed to mention that because it is important. Last week I flew to Florida because we set up another inspection I went down just for that Solar came on Friday fixed the issues on the windows & the double doors. The inspector came Monday the inspection did pass however Solar was to come back & put the finishing on the double door so I e-mailed & called them guess what no response plus I sent another e-mail asking when we were getting our new windows guess what no response I'm thinking they just wanted to get that inspection done so they didn't get a citation because why are they ignoring us. I filed several complaints however not before I gave them time to finish what they started so it looks like we have to move forward because the board has been patient with me because they now we are working in ending this fiasco. read more
