The team ran into some problems that were outside of their control and handled them extremely well. The spray makes a mess but they covered beforehand, and then cleaned up very well afterwards. Re cost, I obtained seven estimates. Only two came in cheaper, and I those estimators did not leave me with a good level of confidence that they would have quality work.

I was pleased to find that REenergizeCO did them all and were more than just an installer but on mission to increase energy efficiency. From start to finish communication was fantastic. They first did the insulation and we noticed a difference almost immediately. They also took care of submitting the Xcel rebate paperwork for it. The solar panels and EVSE came a bit later. Again, they took care of all the paperwork with Xcel. The system has been working without flaw since and saving us tons of money in this inflated energy cost environment. We had them out recently to detach and reset the panels for a roof replacement. They took the opportunity to slightly tweak the layout for better efficiency. Still the same commitment to quality!

Jason has been my main guy, and he was so responsive, and easy to work with. They came and fix every single issue that I had. 2 years ago we had a huge hail, but none of the solar panels were damaged. But we had to claim insurance and take the panels off and put them back on. Suntalk has been easy to work with, and they rewire everything, even put better insulations on the wirings. I had pigeons trying to make nests under the panels, and they put nets and guards around. Yesterday, I just realized that my SolarEdge data was not updating since March 3rd. Called Jason, and he told me how to reset the communication module, and everything is good now. SunTalk has great service! Thank you, Jason!!

UPDATE: After six years, I finally have the system running about 96%, no thanks to Suntalk. It has…read morebeen over a year now that I have been working with the manufacturer, providing them the design specs from Suntalk. The manufacturer concluded Suntalk poorly designed the system between the solar array and the inverter. After intensely learning the technical side of solar and the equipment, I concur with the manufacturer. I spent an additional $1700+ and countless manhours installing the appropriate equipment and properly programming the system, as to avoid completely rebuilding a sizable portion of the system. Now our solar is harvesting just over 6.8+KW, which is approximately a 98% increase in production from Suntalk's installation. Of note, I spoke with Suntalk for a number of months after my initial post and contact by their service manager, with no progress. Not once did they send a technician out to troubleshoot the system, even after repeated requests. They kept attempting to blame the batteries and informing me they would call the manufacturer. They promised on two occasions to send a technician out on a service call, but both manifested into two no call/no shows. Not even an apology, except after confronting them, and they provided not much more than excuses. Then recently I identified a review at https://bestcompany.com/solar/suntalk-solar/reviews noting that there are two reviews. One is one star and the other is a 5 star. Interestingly, the 5 star reviewer has the exact same name as the President of Suntalk. Why am I not surprised... ORIGINAL POST FACTS AND OPINIONS: We signed a contract with Suntalk Solar through its representative in 2019. The Suntalk salesman/representative altered the contract after it was signed. Had I not copied the signed contract before alteration, I would have been held to the higher altered price, according to Suntalk, until I produced the originally signed agreement. They finally honored the original price. Additionally, I needed to stop work during the initial installation, as their system was insufficient for our needs. They attempted to install a system that would not even support our well pump. Suntalk and I fought for months until my attorney sent a CDARA Letter. They finally began working on correcting the system. Their work was never complete. What was completed has never entirely produced enough power to sustain the house, much less overproduce during peak months, as promised by the salesman. Now, the system will not even turn on. I have called, left messages, sent messages, and involved attorneys. Their contract did not address attorney fees to the prevailing party, so be prepared to pay all of your legal costs. What a waste of time and money. Tens of thousands of dollars and countless manhours trying to get the system to work, it doesn't even turn on. I have a 7+ KW system; the most it has ever produced is 3.47 KW. Choose them if you want, but I would recommend looking somewhere else.

I want to be absolutely…read moreclear so nothing gets lost: the communication, customer service, and basic professionalism I received were shockingly poor, and I deeply regret choosing this company. Photon Brothers wasted 6 months of my time and cost me roughly $17,000 due to their negligence. I repeat, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CHOOSE PHOTON BROTHERS. There are many solar companies out there, take your business elsewhere!! This is a company that puts customer service LAST and will throw you under the bus and leave you hanging the when issues arise and they need to do something that inconveniences them or impacts their bottom line despite contracts, written and verbal promises and basic honorable/professional business norms. Our family moved into our new home in June and immediately began comparing solar proposals. I ultimately chose Photon because Sam Johnson (senior sales rep) appeared knowledgeable. I was explicit with Sam about the type of roof and shingle I had--I even sent him the official documentation from the roofing company detailing the type of roof and shingle. He assured me multiple times that Photon could handle it and told me he had built extra labor costs into the contract for exactly that reason. We signed a contract and approved financing. Then came the site visit with the installation supervisor, Drew Perry. I was on the roof with Drew as he inspected everything. He told me directly that the roof was suitable and we were "good to go." Every step of the way, Photon reassured me the system would be installed before year-end so I would receive substantial expiring federal tax credits. Throughout this process, I repeatedly checked in with the project manager, Kaitlyn Martinez. Responses were rare, slow, and unhelpful--but when she did reply, she also confirmed everything was on track for installation before year end. Install day--November 24--was when it all fell apart. Only that morning did the installation team realize they had completely overlooked the shingle type and couldn't install the system, even though I had disclosed this upfront and even though their own supervisor had inspected the roof in person. The install crew told me they messed up and would make it right and still get it done before year end. Kaitlyn (project manager) called--one of the only times she ever did--and assured me there would be no added cost and they would still complete the project by year end, I was reassured again that they would uphold the contract and their promises. That turned out to be untrue. After several incredibly frustrating conversations with Sam and co-owner John Johnson, where I had to constantly call them for updates, I was finally told that Photon would NOT complete the project at all. They openly admitted they made the mistake but refused to honor the contract or their repeated promises because it would cost them more in labor. John specifically told me that--even though the error was entirely on their side--they were not willing to take the financial hit to fix it and I was just out of luck. They refused any sort of compensation for my lost time and money. John initially tried to blame me because I had a difficult roof, then blamed Drew Perry (instillation supervisor), then blamed his Ops team then just told me verbatim "construction is difficult" and I need to understand that, so too bad for me. As a result, I've lost more than six months of time and a ~$17,000 tax credit, all because Photon Brothers failed to do their job, failed to communicate, and then refused to take responsibility for their own mistake. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering this company. They overpromise, underdeliver, and when their internal failures come to light, they deflect, delay, and ultimately leave the customer holding the bag. I cannot recommend them under any circumstances.

Of course, getting the permit and dealing with our utility company took a while, so that was something. Gary the owner even personally reached out to my husband and I to make sure we were happy along the process. Our basement light switches went out the day our solar was finally up, which made us think something happened by the solar panels. Trevor their electrician personally drove all the way from Fort Collins to help us out. I was amazed at the time and compassion Trevor puts in to make sure the customer has no more questions and that everything is working before he leaves. What I also appreciate about this company is that they send you weekly progress report emails for you to evaluate the process of the previous week. The project managers make sure to reach out periodically to make sure everyone knows what is going on. We had a couple small issues and Gary personally reached out to us again to make sure he could address and fix our problems immediately. I couldn't be more appreciative than having an owner who completely cares about their customers and not just making a dollar. Thank you, Gary and Trevor, for going way above and beyond to make sure our family was satisfied and happy.

After signing the contract I was then told that they could not place the panels where we had agreed and they would have to go on the roof of the house with most of the panels facing either East or West decrease in the efficiency of the system by approximately 15%. They did not have the project installed by December 31, but sent me a letter anyway that stated it was installed and recommended I give that to my tax person. In essence asking me to commit tax fraud. As part of the project to power walls were to be installed. They install them on the front of my house. I complained and they told me (with much attitude) that I had signed off on the plans. I had signed off on the plans thinking I was only signing off on placement of the solar panels and as a layperson I could not find the power walls on the plans. Finally after months of complaining someone told me where the power walls were on the plans and they were supposed to go on the back of the house to begin with. So, there electricians cannot read the plans either? Additionally, the electricians had a put a new ground in and instead of calling 811 to find where the lines were they spiked their ground through the main power line to our house. I have been in contact with one of the owners of the company and I will email him but not get a response for weeks. The last time I contacted him 3 weeks went by without a response and finally he said "sorry I was out of town". I wish I could take 3 weeks off without contacting my clients. Now, 10 months after signing the contract all of the solar panels are still not installed and all of the wiring to the solar panels still goes to the front of our house. 1. I feel as though I was lied to multiple times 2. Their own people cannot read or do not care about the plans for the project. 3. Very poor customer service from both being given attitude for their mistakes and extended periods of time with no contact at all.
