He was available around our work schedules, which was a huge plus, and cost effective. We had him working before the arrival of our hot tub to prepare wiring and what not. We paused the work until our hot tub was closer to arriving and when contacting him to come back, he suddenly expressed difficulty finishing the job. As with any backyard designing, we were trying to figure out our layout and played around with different placements of the hot tub. Julius appeared stressed and expressed how he didn't know if he could finish the job for us because we were changing what he originally signed up for. He started self disclosing personal issues and arguing in our backyard. (Our neighbors told us a few days later how they heard the entire situation). We were both embarrassed and appalled at his behavior in our backyard. In discussing our changing plans, Julius kept making comments about how our plans were basically stupid because they weren't saving us money. His work was great, but he needs to work on his professional skills. He shared with us various other jobs he was getting, which made us feel "side-stepped" and put on the back burner because he clearly has time for other customers with larger jobs. Jesus contacted us and came to look at the job and provided an estimate that Thursday evening which was reasonable. . He explained what he would do thoroughly and said he would come the next Monday to start. He showed up on Monday as promised and was done with the scratch coat by Tuesday evening. He said he would be back Friday to put on the final coat and paint with the paint we provided. As he said he was back Friday and completed . and took our concerns seriously. I asked them to add a water line to a new refrigerator last year. First, the 2 guys ran the water…read morehoses inside the bottom of my cabinets, so that the using the cabinets would bang into the hoses and cause problems (not to mention that it would stop things sitting flat in the cabinet). They did admit it was a disastrous attempt and agreed to try again (after I spoke to the boss, who did not apologize but agreed to no extra charge). Then they tried again, running the hoses through the crawl space. They added miles of hose from the kitchen sink instead of just tapping into a water pipe nearby - unnecessary - and ended up drilling a hole in the floor to bring the pipe up next to the refrigerator instead of behind it, so it is visible. However at that point I had had enough so just let it go. BUT I recently went under the crawl space and saw that they installed the hose right next to (almost touching) exposed electric wires (old style nob and tube) - creating a dangerous situation which I will now have to replace. I tried to get in touch to discuss the issue but they have ignored my class. Not impressed.
