The manicurists are always very friendly. I've only gotten pedicures but each lady has given me very good pedicures.

This salon is very cute; the service is quick and efficient. It is well-priced, and the quality of the work is great. I do not frequent nail salons because I have a hard time sitting still, and I don't like the nail filing part. I know I am quirky in that regard. I got a regular manicure and pedicure after getting a gel set at another place a while ago and wanting the gel removed. Everything was very smooth, and the color chosen was perfect. They did an excellent job, and it was quite comfortable the whole time. They have multiple package options with moisturizing add-ons and paraffin wax treatments. They put a lot of things in each of their menu options, and it's very relaxing. The ladies here have very good vibes. I will come here again when I get tired of doing my own nails at home. read more

I came in here because of all the great reviews! However, I was underwhelmed. I asked for a "blistfull gel pedicure". This included lavender and a 10 minute foot massage. The pedicure price was $40 and I assumed an extra $10 or so for the gel. Boy was I wrong!!! It was $23 extra!!!! That is INSANE! $63 for a gel pedicure that was very below average is just crazy! Not only did she talk my ear off when I was trying to relax, she said "come for your nails and if you don't like you don't come back"! She somehow thought this was hilarious little did she know she certainly manifested me never coming back. She filed my nails crooked and did not even give a 10 minute massage. It was 3 minutes!!! I left just mouth breathing feeling so incredibly bamboozled and generally just ripped off. There was NOTHING special about this place that sets it apart from any other nail salon. Your tech had no problem letting me walk out of my last visit with a crooked nail and this most recent nail tech was happy to let me do the same thing ...so yes although I complained multiple times...this was the FINAL PRODUCT! I had 2 coats of gel polish (a color I also complained about because I guess I'm not smart enough to choose on my own nail color. When i requested a color your tech said SHE didnt like it so she put this ugly mess on my nails) at this point. 2. 2 Hours & 15 minutes into an appt is not the time to say "oh let us fix that" after I had already complained about the service much earlier 3. PLEASE call the police! That seems to be the GO TO whenever a black woman voices her concerns! I am more than happy to tell them and the world how you mistreated me at the end of my appt. 4. Lastly, not sure why the person doing my pedicure didn't get compensated...you should ALWAYS compensate your staff when it's YOUR fault for running off the customer. Again.....get off the yelp responses and take a cultural sensitivity course! What's sad is what set you off wasn't my nail complaint. It was me actually asking you to respect my wishes. Shape is well done, short like I asked. Thought I wanted a solid color and ended up not liking it. They saved the day with gorgeous sparkles that gave the nails depth and attitude. I was pretty distraught at initially not liking them since the last nail salon I used really screwed over. The staff handled my discontent with grace and style, offering me multiple solutions and ultimately wining me over in a big way. Even the owner went out of his way to make small talk to bring my mike up when I thought all was lost. This is my first ever Yelp review and I'm glad I saved it to use it to review Solara Nail Bar because it is by far THEE best salon I have ever been to! I have been here twice and both times were such fantastic experiences. Nick, the owner, is always friendly, welcoming and puts customer satisfaction first. I have been to more salons in my life than I can recall but Solara is most def the cleanest and highest quality I have had. They even disinfect the polish color swatches between customers so that it is sanitary - AMAZING! They always take their time to make sure to give you a great experience from start to end. A nice pampering day is a treat for all of us and it's nice to know I can depend on Solara to make it the best experience possible. Nick's wife and owner, Kathy, did my gel mani with OPI gel and it is just the prettiest mani I've ever had! She took her time with shaping every nail and pushing down my pesky cuticles. I picked a cute summer color from their large selection and she def did it justice! I also had the Eucalyptus pedi where I almost fell asleep because I was so relaxed haha! The experience I had when I took my mother-in-law here for her 80th birthday was amazing. I had the Fresh Cucumber Pedicure and she had the Tahitian Vanilla Pedicure and we both got the Solara Manicure. We felt like we had a true "spa day" in just 90 minutes. The salon is COVID-19 safe. I needed a last minute appointment to "prep" for my first Mother's Day. I requested an evening appointment and Nick (owner) was super kind and accommodating. He was able to be flexible to work with my schedule to make sure I could be seen the next day. The nail bar is SUPER clean and everything was COVID-safe friendly. All of the staff was very kind and welcoming. I found it easy to carry on a conversation with the two women (Gabby and April) while receiving my services. Honestly, I was simply looking for a salon with pedicure chairs that looked both comfortable and disability friendly for my mother who finds it hard to get into and maneuver in some salons. But this salon not only provided ease and comfort but relaxing and excellent service. I love the smells available and the wide range of services. So I tried out a new Nail place @solaranailbar a couple of weeks ago. I've been waiting to do a review because almost all manicures look AMAZING on day 1...and then by day 5, not so much. I have lived in Long Beach (10 min away from this salon) for 5 years and don't know why I took so long to try because it was recommended to me several times. I finally went in and got a pedicure and dip manicure and let me tell you the service was a 10/10. I am super picky when it comes to my pedi because I have bad ingrowns (the way mine just grow) and Lydia was fantastic. My hands I haven't got acrylics or dip in over 2 years because I was so tired of trying to find someone here who would do it right. Tammy exceeded my expectations, she made sure the dip was as close to flush with my nail bed where they grow out from which I have found very few technicians who make sure this is done properly. I hate to do this during covid, but I had the worst tech. When you're paying $60 for a pedicure you expect a GOOD pedicure. I told the girl I liked my nail short in the beginning, when she was about to paint I noticed they were SO long still. I said I wanted them short, she goes I shaped them nice, I said shape them nice and make them short please. I got the extra hydrating, callous removing, etc. and I still have a callus. I asked her if I should still have it and she goes no, I showed her everywhere she missed and she goes I will oil it. Like oil won't help, that's why I paid for all of this removing stuff! read more

Nick (the owner) was so kind to squeeze her in last minute on a busy weekend it being Mother's Day. He scheduled her for both with Monique. She is the most sweetest, kind, caring and down to earth nail technician.
