I bought a coupon from Groupon, but apparently it was only for acrylics. My bad. I can't wear acrylics as a Nurse Assistant, so luckily Tru Nail Spa was kind enough to honor my coupon and apply the discount for a gel manicure. I was ecstatic that lots of glitter was applied (see two pictures). I love glitter and can't get enough of it! The service was excellent and I didn't feel rushed. This was my first time here and I'll definitely return because the price was reasonable and I've received so many compliments on my nails. Regarding payment, I don't know if their credit card machine was down or they don't take cards. Luckily I have Venmo which is how I paid along with my Groupon discount. I tried this new salon and was very disappointed. First, I wanted the acrylic dip done in French nails. The guy, I believe he was the owner, said they cannot do French nails with acrylic dip. I've always had acrylic done, so this guy was incompetent. Secondly, he didn't file my nails evenly and the acrylic was applied very sloppily; some nails were thicker and uneven. After I explained my disappointment, they attempt to fix my nails by applying a gel coat and filed them. The next day, the gel was peeling off. Amazing new nail salon! The owner Kenny is amazing and super attentive. They have a huge variety of colors and have tons of nail art supplies (like stones, stickers, etc. if that's what you're in to.) Kenny did my hands (dip powder), and he killed it. I'm new to the area, and went to another nail salon down the street, and my dip was so thick Not here! Kenny took his time and made sure to give me exactly what I asked for. I visited this shop for leg and underarm waxing but only ended up getting half of my legs due to how painful it was. The wax technique did not have the wax ready to go so I had to wait and when she started the service I could tell the wax was not at the temperature it needed to be. When she would pull a strip it wouldn't come off and she then left it on a bit longer and pulled with more force when she decided it was ready to pull. I ended up bruising and had spots where she went over too much and it pulled more skin off due to the excessive strips in one area. they were super nice but it's just not okay to be waxing if you don't know what you're doing. read more

so sorry to say, but this nail spa is not ready for prime time. I came here for the first time today on a Groupon Adventure to treat myself. I made my appointment in advance by phone, but one can also make an appointment online which is a nifty feature if a person is tethered to tech. When I arrived for my appointment the first thing I noticed was that the place was empty as a ghost town, clean, modern, and empty with the exception of one customer. There are six manicure stations and seven pedicure stations, so plenty of room for a bridezilla-thon. So I query myself, why no Bridezilla? Why no customers? Why no operators? Why only one license on wall? Questions. A woman walks in and a few minutes later she invites me to sit at a spa chair. I am hopeful my pedicure will be relaxing, but alas it was not meant to be. Just call me picky but the first thing I notice is the towel she places under my feet is stained and I am wondering if it is really clean... red flag! This lady is so quiet, I ask her name and she say she doesn't understand, no English. Are we having fun yet? Soon I find out that she doesn't know how to give a proper pedicure without step by step guidance from the owner of the shop. I won't enumerate each gory detail here in respect for the faint of heart. Needless to say my appointment was at 4:00 I didn't leave the salon until 6:00, and the polish is still gooey at 7:50. The up side is that this technician was excellent at the leg massage so I did tip her for that effort. I don't think I would like to try going there again. Recently opened and super clean. Staff wears masks and gloves. Pedicure tubs are lined with disposable plastic. They even ask you to wash your hands before they start. Prep work is very thorough. They really spend a lot of time and attention to trimming cuticles and filing the nails before painting. I appreciate a good foundation. This review is for the Los Alamitos shop. First of all, I called and made an appt for the first opening which happened to be 30 minutes later. I arrived 5 minutes early and was very frustrated to see that the owner who my appt was with had JUST started working on someone else's nails and she was getting a new set so it wasn't going to be quick. The only other nail tech was working on that woman's daughter's nails. I said to him that I had an appt and all he said was "sorry you can wait". NOT a great start. I left for 30 minutes and still had to wait another 30 minutes when I returned (I should have just left and not returned). I had already removed my old set myself so I paid for a new set of semi long nails expecting them to be nice and to last for a minimum of three weeks like mine usually do. The glitter polish I chose needed a third coat as it was not covering the nails. He acted like it was such an inconvenience and he didn't do the edges well and my thumb was left with lumpy polish...I paid for gel which should be really smooth. My nails are on the longer side but with a brand new set of nails they should have been much more secure. After less than two weeks 2 nails had lifted and at two weeks SIX nails have lifted. WORST set of new nails I've ever gotten in 20 years of doing nails. Also, the coffin shape was good on 4 out of 10 nails, 3 looked pregnant and I filed them myself to fix them after I got home as I was tired of being there. The pedicure lady was kind of rude when I asked her to fix the acrylic on my big toe. She had it really crooked and I tried to explain how to correct it and then the man told her in not a very nice tone to do what the customer asked. I couldn't understand what he said of course but the gist was there. This wasn't my first time going to this salon. I hadn't been there in quite awhile because the previous visit wasn't pleasant either but I thought I'd give them another try. Obviously I won't be going back.. They also only take cash or Zelle. If I had paid via credit card I would have disputed the payment! =( read more

I was completely disappointed. I purchased a Groupon so i thought i could try it out . The Groupon was a coupon off of services so it was a huge savings but helped . The Groupon also stated that you needed to make an appointment in order to redeem services and it connected you to a link which then connected you to download an app to schedule an appointment. I followed all the steps and scheduled an appointment at 9 AM I arrived at 9 AM and they were completely closed.The sign on their door states that they don't open till 930 which nobody got there till 945 to open up. There was only one person opening and i let her know that I had scheduled a 9 AM appointment because their website stated that they open at 9 AM she said oh and apologized and got me seated right away. I soaked for quite a while because she wasn't completely done opening up and another customer had entered about five minutes after. The other customer had stated that she had a Groupon as well and if they had time to do her nails and a pedicure so she seated her and called someone to come in. She then began to clean my feet and I could tell that she was feeling rushed because she was the only one available. As she was cleaning it appeared as though she wasn't very familiar with the her tools or the steps following. About half way into my pedicure another employee had arrived and got to work right away on the waiting customer. Once finished with the step of the cleaning (which was not very good) it was onto message,hot stones and paraffin . Now the only reason i have this rating 1 was because the message was probably the only thing that was executed to expectation. Once we got to polish it was so poor i just wanted to leave already especially because i had sat down at 9:50 and an finally was finishing at 10:40 for just a pedicure. As i waiting for the tech to finish up the other tech was checking out the woman who had came after me (for a pedicure and mani!...no idea how she finished both so quickly) as the woman was paying the tech had told her her Groupon was unable to be redeemed for the services given. She then continues to call some sort of management to explain why and places their conversation on speaker. The customer then argues with the person on the phone and does not get what she had paid for . All the the while i am waiting to pay myself . The tech who had given my services finally figures out how to check me out and i leave . By far the worst pedicure i have ever gotten and display of customer satisfaction i have ever seen. Not only to mention the place was pretty dusty . I honestly feel like i could have done a better job myself at home . Definitely do not recommend. read more

This place looks newly renovated and the nail techs do a good job. Their equipment are new and the place and equipment look clean and hygienic. I've had a basic pedicure done here twice and used a Groupon both times. I took a girlfriend with me the 2nd time. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had. I came here to get my lashes filled. It was very pricey. When the lady was finished it looked completely terrible. It was uneven, there was glue on the end of the lash and I couldn't brush the lashes out, one eye was longer in length than the other, and it looked very very sloppy. I asked her if she can fix it and she tried but instead of it looking even she added way more to one eye so now I looked like I had classic on one eye and mega volume on the other. It looked terrible.Days after , the lashes also fell out. So not only did it look terrible to begin with the quality of the lashes and glue were terrible because they fell off!!! I went in for something that should've only taken 30min and took her 2.5hrs!!! I didn't have time for her to fix it again for the third time as I needed to get to work. I would not come in here and let Jasmine do your lashes. Her work is slow and sloppy and expensive for nothing! I definitely do NOT recommend this place at all for lashes ! Absolutely HORRIBLE!
