SolarQuest Solar did an excellent job with our solar install! Joe and his team were extremely thorough, professional, and knowledgeable in every aspect of the job from start to finish. And they worked expeditiously to get all our paperwork and info in on time to get into NEM 2.0 before the April 13 deadline. I spoke with over a dozen companies to compare prices and had consult visits with over 6 of them. So I did a ton of research/due diligence. If you have any hesitation that SolarQuest isn't a "big brand" solar company I would love to put those worries aside. For me, the three most important things were - quality of equipment, price point, and customer service. So let's dive in - Equipment - almost every company, including SolarQuest, are using Tier One panels, and they use the Enphase micro inverters which are the best in the biz. SolarQuest uses only the very best panels with a couple different options, we got the qcells. Price - SolarQuest price point was better than every big brand, and generally by a wide margin. Since Joe runs a smaller shop and has less overhead, his pricing is highly competitive, and generally better than others. Customer Service - honestly this is what set SolarQuest apart in my honest opinion. Many of the bigger companies I just felt like a number to fulfill a quota. If I left a voicemail or email after business hours I'd be lucky to hear back the next day, or on a Friday afternoon there was no chance I'd hear back till Monday at the earliest. With Joe, he was always available. Many nights and weekends I would send Joe a text or email and he would always answer my questions promptly/thoroughly and made me feel really comfortable throughout the entire process. Getting solar is a big financial commitment, and to have someone like Joe who was there every step of the way instilled so much confidence that I hired the right company. DO NOT RECOMMEND We came to do business with solar quest when our realtor recommended the company to us. She had used them before and we trusted her judgement. Joe and Robert sold us a great story. They promised us the best service and Robert told us most of his clients send him yearly Christmas cards. The solar installation was supposed to be done in under a week. Part of it was relocating pool solar heating panels, which they assured me was something they were experienced in. We started getting excuse after excuse on why they couldn't come to work everyday (emergency dental appointments, family visiting from deployment, employees volunteering with floods in Texas, sick relatives...). They thought of every excuse. It ended up taking 2 1/2 weeks to complete the job. They informed me that my electrical panel needed to be upgraded and replaced at a cost of $2000, which I agreed to. After the project was complete, the problems started. First my pool solar heating system started leaking. This was the system that had been relocated by Solar Quest and which we had not had any issues until the day it was moved. It took them about a week and a half to fix it after they came to inspect it. Then, we noticed the pool solar panels were sliding off of the roof. I called them back and they put the blame on the pool solar heating system installers. They said to contact them which I did. When the pool solar company came to survey the system, they found it had been severely damaged (see pics). Solar Quest had tried to cover up the damage by spray painting the broken roof tiles and brackets to match our roof. To our dismay the warranty was voided when Solar Quest relocated the pool system. The pool solar company encouraged us to file a claim against Solar Quest and even offered to provide us with a written statement and pictures to back up our claim in court. I ended up paying solar quest $1200 to fix the damage they caused, because it was cheaper than going with the original pool solar company. Joe used every opportunity to bad mouth the pool solar company and it's owner during this transaction. 2 weeks ago (9 months after I chose the WRONG solar company) I was having some electric work done in my house when the electrician cut into the drywall to run some wire into the electrical panel that Solar Quest had installed when they noticed exposed spliced wires in our drywall (not in a junction box). This is a major fire hazard. I sent the pictures to Solar Quest. Once again they gave me the run around its been 2 weeks and they have not come to the house or offered to fix their mistake. Please do not be mislead by this company. I regret the day we asked our realtor for a recommendation on a solar company. read more

After sending out an RFP to several Solar installers, five vendors responded with competitive quotes. We selected vendors based on their fit to the following criteria: Number of Panels, Inverters, KWH, Warranty, Monitoring System, Claimed Offset, Gross Price, Net Cost (minus any rebates). Further refined our selection to three installers who were best able to communicate their services, provide local representation, and demonstrate experience with similarly sized systems. With reasonable responses to all of these categories, SolarQuest won our business, and we're happy they did! Despite a rain delay on the first day of installation, Robert and Mitchel came in the next day and had a significant portion of the job done by the end of day-2. With little more than electrical work left they returned on day-3 to wrap up and prepare for inspection. [Note: we had a new electrical panel and grounding installed a couple of years ago] While the team on the roof did the technical work, Joe and PA worked on the paper from the office, prepared the dates for inspection and got us into the net-metering program. Now, two weeks later, the work is done, and we're happy to see the system performing as expected without exception. The installation is as clean, the information system is smart, and absolutely nothing was left untucked. After years of talking, investigating, and researching, we decided to purchase solar. We called SolarQuest because we saw several of their clean installations in our neighborhood. I was so happy with my choice of SolarQuest for our solar install. Joe and his team worked with me, were available to answer questions, and showed up on time, when they said they would, every time. I have special thanks for Joe's lead installer, Robert, who takes so much pride in his work. You can tell that he treats your house as if it were his house.
