First and foremost, I must declare Hilton Los Cabos Resort and Golf Club a fabulous seaside…read moreaccommodation, with blue skies, multiple shades of the crystal-clear ocean, hot white sand, and crashing waves! The property is a little dated, but it is meticulously maintained and staffed by very friendly, customer-service-oriented people. "Shout-out' to Ms. Nishme (concierge), Ms. Arely (concierge), Mr. Jesus (Talavera Bar & Restaurant), and Mr. Jiri (Vela Restaurant) for making my stay extremely enjoyable and catering to my daily needs as I bathed in a week of relaxation away from the daily commute and corporate grind.
Perched above the resort with spectacular views of the pool and the sea beyond, you will find Jesus at Talavera blending the best margaritas and cocktails within the property, as you enjoy some of the best pub-like entrees and dishes reminiscent of local heritage with modern technique. Indoor-outdoor seating combines for a rustic, stylish , refreshing atmosphere after a day on the beach or poolside.
Aside from this dining option, I highly recommend Vela for a romantic evening near the pool, enjoying Italian-influenced seafood, pastas, and meats paired with some eclectic Mexican wines that thrill one's palate.
The morning breakfast buffet is quite enjoyable as well, offering Western and Mexican options along with fresh fruits, vegetables, breads, and juices, providing the perfect beginning to a sunny tropical day.
Last but not least among the property's treasures are the expansive rooms overlooking the ocean, the numerous shops, and the amazing indoor/outdoor gym with state-of-the-art equipment.
Some of the less attractive things about the hotel are the weak, expensive cocktails served poolside, beachside, and everywhere, with prices consistent across all venues and flavors and alcohol content very watered down. Talavera Bar is the only difference.
Another notable matter is the 15% service charge on everything! And you find yourself tipping on top of the service charge! As a Diamond member, I receive a complimentary breakfast for two each day, but I was billed $12 service charge and a tip each morning.
I would still recommend this hotel as a vacation destination for its beauty, tranquility, and comfortable suites.
