New bridge to get to Q N and M sections
    Jim M.

Came here for the first time on January 10th for a 21 day stay The welcome center is where you check in. A beautiful ski lodge type of building. The rangers are very friendly and welcoming also helpful I was heading up to section N where a friend was already parked. Went over a new bridge ( heard it cost $1,000,000 to build ) Found a nice space near the bathroom and rear gate to exit the park. There are good things and not so good things but overall I enjoyed my staycation Stock up on food as the local market is 2-4 times more expensive than any Riverside county store even the $0.99 only store in Palmdale was $1.50 only The nice east lodge has a pool and spa and billiards if you want to shoot pool you have to go to the west side lodge and check out the balls. If you want to watch TV in the east lodge you have to go to the welcome center to get the remote control to operate them. If you want to take a late night jacuzzi you are out of luck as they roll up the sidewalks at 4:30PM DUSK and close the lodge too. There is a renovationed K section which is excellent it is close to the Amtrak train tracks so you'll hear the horns blowing often Some of the local restaurants I ate at were good especially La Cabana in Acton which I did review 5 stars The pizza place was ok lunch special was $11.99 for a meatball sandwich and breaded French fries Nearest Costco was about 27 miles away Today they are upgrading their well water tank and delivery system I see that are interested in improving this park It should be very nice in years to come I mean better than it is now. The ritz Carlton it is not but a very nice RV park especially for TT members who like to be an hour away from the LA County attractions

Second visit, and not disappointed at all, I mean a bit of gushes of wind here and there, but the campgrounds have no control of that. Lol Last trip we tent camped, this time around we stayed at a bit far "little house on the prairie style" lounge. 1 bedroom, small living area, sleeps 4 sofa bed. Fridge, stovetop and microwave available. 2 car parking. Be careful, there's of plenty of squirrels, snakes, or even gophers holes all over campground. Be careful especially at night. Membership is available: inquire with Ronda or Damien. Very warm and welcoming into the member process. Thanks for making the process painless. See you soon.

Worst stay at Thousand trails Soledad I have been a customer for many years and site and customer service has seemed to gotten worse they changed there policy 1st come for serve which to pick your site. This is unfair when u come early and they choose a site that you would never pick. The site was very run down personally we go has vacation camping trip with our kids they places next to campers that obviously live here with trash and junk all around they also placed us right next to the sewers which had a smell and flies. I got here during the day and called and asked to be moved they said they couldn't move every site was assigned this is u fair and I feel is bad customer service. Why would they have a site next to where the sewers are in 25 years of camping I have not came across this. I also asked to speak to the manager the girl said there said there was no manger she was laughing like it was a joke. On a busy Easter weekend they have no manager or assistant manger to speak to, very unprofessional. We as customers pay a yearly fee and should have to deal with this. Before paying into there membership I would think twice - for this issue I had this weekend I will be canceling and telling my other friends that have membership cancel as well. They really need to look a the whole picture make sure they treat all customers with respect and not be rude and aggressive. I felt like I was taking to teenagers who were left to manager a huge campsite on on a busy Holiday weekend. As a customer I felt like Thousand Trails has gotten worse over the years but I tolerated it. They as a company decided to hire young unprofessional people to run there business down at the campsite and should really look into who they are putting in front of their customers.

Ask the Community - Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon

    Is the pool heated?

No. Summertime is wonderful but not in winter.

Can you rent fire pit? Is there electricity at tent sites?

In some spaces there now is power. Call ahead. Fire pits aren't allowed as it's still a fire hazzard.

    Are they allowing bonfires now?

    Not yet.

How many cars are allowed per tent site?

    Two I believe.

    How much a night?

Ranges from I think $58 -$120 (that's going from simple tent site) to $121 for a cabin that's for ten people I think. Call to verify front desk.👍

    Is the family pool open?

Yes it is. At least when we there in April 2022

Can you pre check in, with Covid on the rise or not? All I see is, if you do the registration on line, then you are called back to the front office for inspections, and the worker are handing you paper work to fill out?

I do not believe anything to Covid is in effect.

Hello, does anyone know of the pool is open at this time?

Yes it is. Not the water park though. At least as of April 2022

Some body know how is the space for camping on tent?

I think you are asking if there are tent spaces are available. Yes, please call or go to the TT website and book reservations.

I found out about it by accident while on the hunt for wildflowers; I entered the Wilderness from the west, via the Burkhart Trail next to Buckhorn Campground in the Angeles National Forest. This wilderness is home to several trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail and Islip Saddle, and offers some of the most stunning land I've ever seen. Please check your GPS before heading off into the wilderness; the directions on Yelp may not be 100% accurate. An actual paper map will be more accurate in this area; there is no service or signal. I parked in the Burkhart Trail parking lot and entered from there. Look out for falling trees; this area burned not too long ago but seems to be recovering beautifully. I love camping and I understand that the idea of maintaining a toilet may be difficult in a forest environment, but these facilities need either regular maintenance or should just be shut down. The smell is horrific, and the amount of flies in the bathroom feasting on the poop that is drenched along the rim and bowl of the toilets says to me that these spaces haven't been cleaned in months. I really enjoyed Crystal Lake itself and the grounds, but I highly recommend that people plan an alternative solution for bathroom needs. In my opinion it is required that you bring your own toiletries and I feel the best solution is to bring your own portable toilet tent. I noticed others had made this choice and if I had known, my 3 day trip would have been better. On one night, in the women's bathroom, someone decided to poop on the floor. I imagine pooping in the toilet was too gross for them. The level of abhorrence that person must have felt is truly undeniable.

*This is NO Resort* We planned to stay here a year due to working in the AV (home is in Alabama),…read morewe didn't make it 6 weeks. It was as if we were living back at home with strict parents; the unnecessary nit-picking, numerous calls to our place of employment to notify us that we were seen speeding through the park on numerous occasions (completely untrue), telling us that we need to make sure that we notify shippers of our site number because they don't want the drivers coming in and asking where sites are - which we did immediately upon moving in (I looked on the package as soon as I arrived home and it clearly had our site number on the package) - the management was borderline harassing us. I came through the gate one afternoon "slowly" making my way around the corner (the entrance is on somewhat of a hill, so you need to accelerate to move the truck up), the assistant manager coming down the opposite side of the road in her cart with her dog waving for me to slow down, I quickly (and in shock) looked at the speedometer which showed I was going 6 mph (an idle roll in a large diesel truck, a slow walking pace). Once we passed each other she did a quick u-turn and started following me to try and intimidate me, so I stopped - she drove up to my window to tell me that I was going 7 mph and speeding through the park and needed to slow it down. I didn't know how to respond to her it was so ridiculous and unnecessary. This is one of many times we were spoken to. I have seen the assistant manager several times going up and down each row looking/inspecting each and every site, front and back of each rig looking for something to call out. It wasn't until the calls started at my place of employment that we began looking for other options for the year that we found several nearby RV parks that were half the cost, twice the space size, clean grounds, offering much more with bike and walk paths, pools, and a much friendlier staff; just a happier place to be. We are good people, we drive safe, we respect others, we are quiet, we follow rules, work long hours all week and just want to come home and relax. It wasn't just us, several people in the 6 weeks we stayed voiced their frustration as well. We paid $1350/month for a very small site (all sites are on top of each other), you have freeway noise, and we had harassment from the management - this is no "Resort". Our reason for leaving was solely due to the unnecessary management nit-picking - the size of the sites, the closeness of the sites, the freeway noise we would have tolerated, and the admin girls that work in the office were pleasant and helpful. We only received a portion of our refund owed to us - so my suggestion is look around and do your research before committing. There are other parks nearby that offer more and half the cost, and you'll look forward to going home at the end of the day.

How bout chasing thieves down in carts and leave the 6mph folks alone? Anyway, for half the price, go down the road a couple miles to thousand trails for a real camping experience. There is plenty of room to spread out and plenty of wilderness to enjoy. This place is nothing but an overpriced unruly glorified trailer park.

It's less than an hour drive away It feels completely out of touch from the city bustle. There are many campsites, but they can fill up quickly on a holiday weekend. We went on Friday night around 11 PM and there was less than 10 sites left. I'd imagine by Saturday morning they were completely filled. I'd recommend driving around a couple times to scout which spot best fit your needs. There are some that feel really isolated from other campsites and there are a ton that are very close knit. The sunsets are phenomenal. And the overall atmosphere was serene and it was nice to see the amount of other people just collectively experiencing camping. There are water spouts, but we didn't end up using them. The bathrooms were as expected for a campground. There are hikes nearby that I would save off line prior to visiting so you can access directions while up there. And just an FYI, it is a first come first serve campground so it's nice as an option if you randomly decide you want to go camping! I don't know if there's any active creeks or rivers nearby, but it doesn't feel like a dry flat desert campground more on the forest type of campground. It's also dog friendly, definitely keep them on a leash for safety, and I would recommend clearing out the campsite floor prior to setting up because we did find a few nails and opened safety pins.

I didn't know this so I parked at the outer parking lot and had to walk a half a mile down the hill. The parking lot nearest the trailhead actually had less cars then the outer parking lot. The other thing is that the majority of the trail is really easy to follow. You just have to remember that when you get to the signage and junction that lists both Cooper Canyon Trail and Burkhart Trail be sure to keep going straight along the Burkhart Trail. The falls will be a little further down on your left. You will have to descend down to the canyon bottom, with the assistance of a rope, to reach the base of the falls. Kids can do it no problem. The waterfall empties into a pool of water that's about a foot deep. It's really cold and refreshing. The waterfall was really wide with a nice and strong flow. Be sure to bring your Adventure Pass. There's no cell service. There are bathroom but they were all locked probably due to Covid-related precautions.
