The owner of this place is a top notch person. I like to do business with quality people. The owner, Shawn Smith, is just that. The place has many options for tanning as well as a great massage chair and an infra red heat pod. Good value for the money with this membership. You can go as often as you like. I went to Soleil tans for the first time today to use my free tan that they offer. The women who greeted me at the desk was very kind and helpful. she explained everything to me and was very personable. I signed up for their membership after I left using the link they provide you for your account. I was a little confused regarding my charge after purchasing the membership and had the pleasure of speaking with the owner Sean who explained everything I needed to know in great detail for me to properly understand the charges and exactly all that came with it and how the program worked. I usually don't like to give small businesses bad reviews, but every time i spoke to the owner on the phone he was extremely rude. His tone on the phone was very rude and demeaning and I don't think anyone who owns a business should act that way towards their paying customers. They're VIP bed is also so awful and not worth the price. Basically the same beds they use at planet fitness for $20 a month (which also includes a gym membership...). Don't waste ur time and money. Find somewhere else as I can assure you there are much better tanning salons in the area that are less expensive and more polite to their clients. read more

Well I gotta say I met Maria when in there just to see how the environment was she was phenomenal great understanding I was gonna walk away and she work with me to make sure that I was comfortable with my budget and with my tanning sessions I have gone already like 4 × 2 my tanning sessions and the girls there are wonderful especially Maria she made sure that she work with me something that was comfortable for me and every time I go there she is so happy perky makes you feel like family the machines are great I have the elite Membership and I can recommend it to anybody highly recommend it to everybody and extra Maria that no matter what your budget is will work with you!! Yesterday was my first time at Soliel Tans in Sayreville. It was a nice experience, the lady behind the counter was very friendly and smiley. (which a company needs to move forward) She helped pick the right bed for me. I have very sensitive skin which she took into consideration when helping me pick out the right lotion for my face&body. (They worked phenomenal) I used the Matrix bed. Great even tan! She explained different packages to me as well how to use them. She also mentioned how she is normally in the office. This place is a rip off. Overly priced, they constantly try to get you to up your membership, there's only 1 good bed and it's usually a long wait or out of service. Very clean, beds are very strong and they have a lot of different levels. They have a really good selection of tanning lotions, both in packets and bottles. I follow them on Instagram and they always post a lot of specials. They do the $19.99 a month thing like most places or you can just pay per tan. I really don't tan frequently anymore but I always know I can stop in and have a good experience and a good tan. No spray tan here, you have to go to the Edison or matawan location for that. read more

She was extremely knowledgeable and walked my husband and i through the pros and cons of each tanning bed. We bought a 100 "tan dollar" package at a discounted rate. ***BEWARE*** a Soleil Tans employee misinformed me about account information over the phone. I received a new CC because my old one had been hacked and therefore my info needed to be updated. she told me I can do it "at my next visit to the salon". I had not been to the salon in months and wasn't planning on going anytime soon. she never informed me I would incur a charge for each month until I updated the CC info (even though i wasn't tanning). a few weeks later I received an email about a past due balance on my account. I tried emailing (several times) and calling (left several voicemails) to straighten it out and no one ever got back to me. a few months later I got a call from collections!!!! how could I have given my updated info if no one ever got back to me?!?! this was not my first problem at this salon. horrible customer service and misinformed employees!!!! Never EVER hand over your Credit Card for monthly autopay memberships without asking the basic canceling questions. New to Soleil Tanning but have so far LOVED it. I'm mostly tanning for prom, and I can't believe how helpful they have been for me. they've helped me pick a gradual color system (since I am pastey white) and helped me figure out the best plan for my budget. Still just as bad as I remember it... I just opened my account again about a month ago and every time I come there's always an issue... One day the credit card machine is down and they can't do anything about it the next time I come in they put me to bed without a fan and it was almost unbearable to be in... Then they have you do surveys for them and offer you a $10 credit on your account and never pay up.... also the owner Sean never answers the phone to hell his employees??? I would never recommend this place to anybody I honestly am canceling my account after this month!! The only thing that I can say is the girls that work the front desk are super sweet and even offered to pay for my tanning session because of these issues... Of course I didn't take it because it's not her fault the owner should be more accountable and run a better business. read more

Very clean, good tanning bed's, But could use better managment, with problems, all the staff will ever say is the boss is not in, call the 800 number, when you do it's the run around again. So if your looking to tan and you have a problem beware.... no one will help you. I still am waiting on a phone call back, and a bottle of lotion that is due to Me for 8 month's or so now! I signed up for the $20 unlimited a few years ago. Probably only tanned a total of 3 or 4 times in 4 months . My CC Ended up expiring not realizing that's the one they had on file ! Never received a call. Then i got a call from collections saying I owed them for a year and a half . Mind u I had only been signed up for (and PAID FOR) about 4 months before my card expired !!! So I probably owed about 4 months . With no avail was I able to reach anyone at the company about this issue !!! I would love to come back as they are the only decent salon in the area .. but don't know if that will happen as u have to scan ur fingerprint .. and I would NEVER put a card on file here AGAIN. read more

Terrible customer service by the OWNER; Sean!! Do not suggest going 2 the sayerville location or purchasing the Groupon!! First the owner signed me up with the incorrect Groupon (there were 2 avail at my time of purchasing), also entered my name & DOB incorrectly even though he copied it direct from my license!!! Upon going 2 my second tan (2 of 3) first the girl working the counter couldn't find me in system because of incorrect spelling & DOB when she did finally find me I was told it had expired, this is when the girl at desk realized the incorrect Groupon had been applied to my account... as this was going on Sean (owner) walked into the store & apologized told me he was gonna reset Groupon to 3 (using 1 that day) and fix spelling & DOB. Next I went to attend the following week (tan 2 of 3, since it should have been reset to 3 the week before) still spelling & DOB was not fixed!! Following week went to use final tan (3 of 3) STILL spelling & DOB NOT FIXED and was told I already used 3. I explained to Maria the entire saga of what happened & she called Sean who told her to allow me to tan & if I posted a good google review they would give me an additional free tan. I posted the review as asked because Maria was very nice & apologized profusely !! Today I went to get my free tan that I was promised & still NAME & DOB not fixed & was told I used the free tan on my last visit. Again they called Sean whom was VERY rude to the poor girl working the counter!! Sean said NO to the tan even though I was already promised I would get it!! I do not advise anyone to give SEAN any of there money as he is mean to his workers & does not do as he promises to customers!! read more

This place is horrible. Cancelled my membership over a year ago and they are still taking money out of a bank account I don't use. When I called to find out why they were still taking money out the "claim" the cancellation letter I hand delivered to their parlin location and also the one I mailed in were not processed. How convenient!!!! Not only do they not want to credit my account for the past year but they want me to pay for another month before the cancellation is processed. Customer service is a joke and they will point fingers to everyone else so they do not have to pay you back. And return calls from managers don't exist so do NOT let them make you wait for the call that will never come!!! DO NOT GET INVOLVED!!!!!!!!!. read more

I used to love to go tanning here but I'm sad to say that I will soon be cancelling my membership and looking for a new tanning salon. The staff has changed, once again (there is a high turn over rate) and all I hear are complaints. I am a customer, this is my escape from my own complaints! They complain about the customers, having to cover shifts, not being able to sit down, etc. every time I go in. Its just not a professional atmosphere anymore. read more

So, I am brand new to the area & just moved here about a week ago. I was searching for a new tanning salon.... I googled "best tanning salons near me" & up popped Soleil Tans! More than one location actually :) I did some research, I'm very selective on the tanning lotion brands I use. When I saw the products they used, I knew this salon had to be good ( MR International- very exclusive tanning lotions/top of line ingredients). Also on the website, I found a fabulous coupon to try out a whole week of tanning absolutely FREE in their VIP beds which also includes the leg tanner*huge bonus*! My husband and I both ventured to the Sayreville location where we were greeted by the nicest most welcoming and inviting girl ever-- Rebecca. As soon as we walked in she was helping another guest, she looked at us and immediately said "hi guys I will be right with you" with a huge smile on her face. Within seconds the guest went into her chosen bed, and Rebecca gave us a full tour of this super clean & beautiful salon. She explained all the different beds, levels, UV-A/UV-B difference, minutes, the whole caboodle ! They offer a beauty bar with spray deodorants, brand new hair ties, face wipes, face wash, toner, combs, hairspray, everything needed really to make sure you prepare to get the best tan as comfortably as possible. She was extremely friendly, and so passionate about her job. She genuinely wants her guests to enjoy their relaxing tan time & get the most out of their minutes in that bed. She by no means pressured us to purchase anything, she didn't try "selling" to us the way other salons have done. She just explained the benefits of different memberships, lotions, bronzes, after tan lotions, shower gels, everything needed to build a tan, keep the tan longer, get a nice brown color, maintenance, etc.... It was nice going into a salon where the sales associates working didn't pressure us into buying, didn't make us feel uncomfortable, didn't make us feel like just another customer. Rebecca personalized our visit based on US, not based on how much she'll make off this deal, not just get us in to the beds and be done with it. I am so happy with Soleil Tans in Sayreville, and a huge part of that is the top notch customer service We got from Rebecca, she went above and beyond to make our visit perfect. This will be mine and my husbands permanent tanning salon the next 4 years we are stationed here because of the cleanliness of this salon, the new beds (with great bulbs), the added "amenities" once you're there...beauty bar for example, the amazing top of the line tanning lotions & products, the super fabulous caring staff, and with out a doubt, Rebecca, for giving us that first impression of "Soleil Tans". I recommend this salon to anyone and everyone interested in tanning, they even offer spray tans at the other locations for those who prefer sunless. You guys just signed on two more forever tanners! I am a new member at the Sayreville location. The staff is extremly helpful, the beds are spotless and they keep the outside sounds down to a minimun. I tend to panic when Im half naked laying in a box with a lid and I hear nosies around me. I have yet to experience that heart pounding, banging your head on the top of the bed because you hear noises that made you jump at this location. I highly recomend Soleil Tans in Sayreville if youre jumpy. I have to be tan by Friday, I believe I will be. read more
