It has been years, maybe a decade since I used a tanning salon. Wow things have changed! Modern, quick, clean, relaxing w/ a knowledgeable and super NICE staff! They took me on a tour and explained the plethora of different options they had to use and recommended the perfect bed to use for my first time and pasty white skin! This is my third year at Soleil tanning. I always have a great experience at this place .The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always makes you feel comfortable. The salon is clean and well organized.I use the Prestige bed which is a lay down tanning bed. Its always clean and hygienic. Prices were reasonable. I started out in the Edison location around May and transferred over to Matawan around June. Both locations have been really good to me. The staff is always friendly and helpful plus both locations are always clean and up to par. They have a $25 monthly membership to do the standard beds which works out pretty good and I've literally tried all their beds and have achieved the results I was looking for. Def. recomm read more

The worst customer Service. I went tanning there while their power went out conveniently only in my room and I was told I would receive credit for the 2 minute tan I had and never did. Forget about trying to cancel your membership because it's near impossible, especially if you live far away. They'll say they "never received" your mail and prolong you canceling it just to rip off more money from you. Great customer service is about helping the customer, but instead they do the opposite. Do not recommend at all. They're rude and it's not worth the price. Beach bum is better. read more

I have been going to this salon for 3 years I am a member (seasonal ) and in my experience I have always been treated with nothing but respect from the team the ladies are always sweet and polite as well the salon is very clean and well kept.. I have been there a few times to witness the morning rally's for the employees by phone. Even before that it was clear that the owner only cared about sales. Owner also did not return calls or emails more than once. My issue with this place was minimal because I can say no thank you to the employees sales pitch. But after no email or phone calls back for any resolution to my issue I am here writing this review. It seems they have high employee turnover, I wonder why. I do not even know where to begin with how awful my experience was. to the rudest customer service, dirtiest rooms I have ever seen, and the most inconsistent tans I have ever had. when I walked in no one was at the front and I waited at least 10 minutes before someone even showed up. the beds were gross and whoever was supposed to clean them after the previous user was awful at there job. The girl behind the desk was so slow with everything and I don't know if that's because of poor training or not but it was bad. it kinda smelled in there too but understandable with how everything else was. Not much in terms of selection of lotions. For non-members- VERY EXPENSIVE! double price on everything if you're not a member. That's ridiculous and clearly a huge rip off. They've got to make a decent profit on their members so they're definitely abusing their non-members. And I get it, you want there to be a reason for people to become members but wow!! Double the price is horrific! The sales girl is extremely pushy. Told her I'm just in the area for right now- literally waiting on a restaurant to open in an hour and I had to tell her 3x that I only want a single session. I even said I don't live around here which she could see on my license when I had to do paperwork. Jeez lady, back off!!! Environment is very brown. Very cliché. Clean for the most part. Everytime I come here I am treated like family. I am personally not a tanner, however, they also have other services such as teeth whitening, which is what I use. Everything is taken care of and kept clean at all times. I've seen some other customers ask questions about the spray tanning option they offer, as well as the differences in the numerous tanning beds they have. I've been to all 4 locations because I'm always traveling along the area when i'm in town. If you end up frequenting here, you can tell they hire based on personality and character better than most businesses out there. It's a smart idea because you have to make sure your customers are always taken care of no matter what. read more

I purchased a membership with soleil tans back in March. The next month, I was no longer in the area but I was billed again. Shawn, the CEO told me to stop into the store so he could possibly help me with a refund. Unfortunately, the next day my boyfriend tragically died. I was billed again on 5/1. When I called into the store again to explain my circumstances, Shawn was understanding and very helpful. He issued me a refund for both months within 72 hours. This company obviously values their customers. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. read more

I'm a huge fan of Soleil Tans. I've been tanning there sporadically over the past four years and always receive superior customer service. The only thing that is frustrating is that Soleil promotions are texted to my phone number almost monthly but when I go into the sore to claim them, 9 out of 10 times they are only for 'members.' Let's see where do I start with Soleil Tans? For starters they are over priced, and most of their beds don't work. The bulbs are weak, and the owner says he changes them but he doesn't. Why should I go to Soleil? All I get there is expired lotion, shitty tans, and scammed by prices. Some of the girls are delightful, however the majority of them are so pushy to buy things it makes you not want to walk in. In summary the owner is a lying and cheap piece of poop. The beds are often broken and aren't fixed for months. The lotions are expired and sold purposely by the girls behind the counter. read more

Soleil Tans is the most clean, most professional tanning salon I've ever been to. I've been a member for 7 years and would NEVER go to any other tanning salon....after being to others before i found Soliel, i found them to be dirty and the staff rude, and the beds weren't of the same quality..... At Soleil the staff is all always friendly and willing to answer any questions you have about the products, tanning beds etc....The bulbs in the beds are changed periodically to make sure that we get the best tans....and the beds are the best. There are 4 locations, Matawan, Millburn, Edison and Sayreville, so it makes it very conveninet to tan whereever you are. I recomend this place 100% and it's also, very affordable and do not try to rip you off like other places. read more

Love it here. Nothing like the big names in marlboro. I haven't been in a while, but they started putting up signs at the register so you know with whom you're speaking. A much more personal feel. Beds are always clean and no cracks! It shows they really takes care of their equipment. The staff sells you on upgrades but tries to save you money. Shawn, the owner, is awesome and reachable. My wife and I both tan two to three times a week and bounce between the Matawan and Sayreville locations. We both cancelled our memberships after being DOUBLE BILLED not once, not twice but THREE TIMES. After contact Soleil customer service, faxing in credit card receipts and writing corporate, we were told by Jen, customer service rep, she was "DOING ME FAVOR BY RETURNING OUR PHONE CALLS". Really? You are doing me "A FAVOR". We pay your salary. Tanning is a luxury, NOT a necessity. Rooms don't always have towels in them. Numerous times the attendant set the bed for 2 minutes instead of 20. All too often there were multiple bulbs burnt out in a bed at the same time. Our money is green no matter where we go. We shouldn't have to be agravated spending our HARD EARNED MONEY! Soleil does NOT care about its clients. They have horrible customer service. STAY AWAY !!! read more

Worst spray tan I ever had. Color came out ok, I've had better. The quality of the spray was bad, very messy very sloppy!!! My hands and feet are discolored, one foot is actually a different color than the other, I have a white spot still on my back, and my underarms are the worst part! I'm embarrassed to lift my arms. I told the girl after before I left so she tried to wipe it but said it was too late and had set in so now I have gross underarms. I pretty much won't go back because the quality was that bad, I want to wash the whole thing off me at this point. read more

I have not been to this salon in over 3 years, I just received a bill for over $300.00 from a collection agency. I was told because I did not put it in writing and sent to the head office certified mail when my paid membership was over they have continued to bill me for that, BEWARE. I was never contacted until today. I have tried to contact the head office and of course no one answers the phone. I left 2 messages and have not got a response.
